Türkiye pledges humanitarian aid

The Ambassador of the Republic of Türkiye to Pakistan Dr Irfan Neziroglu has reaffirmed brotherly ties between the two countries and expressing strong interest in expanding humanitarian cooperation.
He expressed these views during his visit the headquarters of Alkhidmat Foundation Pakistan in Lahore on Thursday. Dr Neziroglu was received by President Alkhidmat Foundation Dr Hafeezur Rehman, Secretary General Syed Waqas Jafri and other senior officials of the organisation.
During his visit, the envoy was given a comprehensive tour of the Alkhidmat Complex and was briefed on the Foundation's wide-ranging relief and development initiatives, both in Pakistan and globally.
"Our nations have always supported each other in times of hardship. Our collaboration with Turkish humanitarian organisations is a source of pride," he stated.

In Istanbul, top Arab League diplomats discuss Iran-Israel war

ISTANBUL: Arab League foreign ministers gathered in Istanbul late Friday to discuss the escalating war between Iran and Israel, Turkish state news agency Anadolu said, quoting diplomatic sources. The ministers were in Turkey's largest city on the eve of weekend gathering of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), which was also slated to discuss the air war launched a week ago. Israel began its assault in the early hours of June 13, saying Iran was on the verge of developing nuclear weapons, triggering an immediate immediate retaliation from Tehran in the worst-ever confrontation between the two arch-rivals. Earlier on Friday, Araghchi said Tehran was ready to 'consider diplomacy' again only if Israel's 'aggression is stopped'. The Arab League ministers were expected to release a statement following their meeting, Anadolu said.

Iran foreign minister to attend OIC meet in Turkiye on Saturday, source says

ANKARA: Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi is expected to attend a meeting of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) in Istanbul on Saturday, a Turkish foreign ministry source said on Thursday, as war rages between Israel and Iran. The source said a special session of the 51st OIC Council of Foreign Ministers is expected to focus on Israel's recent strikes against Iran, including Thursday's attack on the Khondab nuclear site in Arak. The Israeli military said it targeted a partially built heavy-water reactor at the site, which experts say could produce weapons-grade plutonium. Turkiye has sharply criticised Israel, called its actions illegal and said Iran was legitimately defending itself. Opening the two-day summit, Turkiye Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan is expected to call on Muslim countries to unite in the face of 'destabilising actions' across the region, the ministry source said.
