How learning to shoot taught Shahid Kapoor a lesson about life
Shahid Kapoor revealed a life-altering lesson learned while training in shooting. Initially wanting a real firearm, he practiced with an air gun, struggling until his coach advised focusing on breathing and process, not the target. This counterintuitive approach led to bullseyes, teaching Kapoor that a correct process naturally yields the desired result.
Shahid Kapoor
has always been known for his versatility — from intense roles in Kaminey, Haider and
Kabir Singh
to light-hearted entertainers like Jab We Met. But beyond his on-screen persona, the actor shared an unexpected and deeply personal lesson he picked up while learning how to shoot, one that ended up changing the way he approaches both his craft and life.

In a candid interaction with Pinkvilla, Shahid recounted how he once decided on a whim that he wanted to learn shooting. 'You know, there's a thought that comes to mind — I want to do this. So I was like, let's do this,' he said. He found a seasoned coach, someone who had not only taught at a national level but also competed there. Eager to hold a real firearm, Shahid was initially taken aback when his coach handed him an air gun instead.
'I was like, air gun? I want to hold a real gun. What is this air gun?' he admitted with a laugh. But trusting the process, he agreed. Inside an indoor facility, Shahid began practicing with tiny pellets so light that even a hint of wind could alter their path. To his surprise, his shots were wildly off-target.
Frustrated, Shahid asked his coach what he was doing wrong. The advice he received wasn't just about shooting — it was about life.
'He asked me what I was looking at. I said, 'the target.' He told me, 'I want you to focus on your breathing. Focus on firing the gun without moving your hand. Don't look at the target.''
Following this seemingly counterintuitive advice, Shahid noticed a remarkable difference. 'Every time I focused on the process, I hit the bullseye. It was like magic,' he shared.
That moment, for Shahid, became a metaphor for life. 'If you follow the process the way it is meant to be, the result is a natural outcome. You cannot get it wrong. It's math. But if you focus only on the result, your brain is not on what it should be focusing on.So focus on the process. The result has to happen if your process is right.'
Shahid will be next seen in Vishal Bharadwaj's Arjun Ustraa with Triptii Dimri, he also has the second season of Farzi in the pipeline along with Cocktail 2 with
Rashmika Mandanna
and
Kriti Sanon

She's been the darling of the box office, the face behind some of India's biggest pan-Indian hits, and hailed as one of the most versatile actresses of her generation. Yet, Rashmika Mandanna , who reportedly charged a jaw-dropping ₹10 crore for Pushpa 2 , seems to be witnessing a sharp and curious decline in her remuneration. The revelation, first reported by Pinkvilla, has left fans and industry watchers equally puzzled. The Curious Case of Sliding Salaries Rashmika's rise has been meteoric—from the phenomenal success of Pushpa: The Rise to Animal , and most recently, Kuberaa . However, despite the star power and consistent box office triumphs, her paycheck hasn't followed the expected upward trajectory. According to a report in Siasat , Rashmika was paid ₹4 crore for her role in Chhaava opposite Vicky Kaushal—a steep drop from her Pushpa 2 fee. She earned ₹5 crore for the upcoming Salman Khan-starrer Sikander , and ₹4 crore again for Kuberaa , according to Filmibeat . — scenesthetic (@scenesthetic) Kuberaa Scores Big, But Paycheck Remains Modest In Kuberaa , which hit theatres on June 20, Rashmika plays Sameera alongside acting stalwarts Dhanush and Nagarjuna Akkineni. Interestingly, Rashmika had earlier addressed similar rumours with a witty retort. After Animal 's success, some reports suggested she had hiked her fee to ₹4-4.5 crore. Taking to social media, she playfully responded: 'Says who I wonder.. after seeing all of this I think I should actually consider it.. and if my producers ask why.. then I'll just say 'media out there is saying this sir ..and I think I should live up to their words.. what do I do?'' While the exact reason behind the drop in her fees remains under wraps, theories range from project-specific budgets to a shift in the industry's pay scale post-pandemic. Some fans speculate it may even be a conscious decision by the actress to take on more challenging, content-driven roles rather than chase commercial payouts. Six years on, Sandeep Reddy Vanga marks ‘Kabir Singh' anniversary with gratitude and reflection
Filmmaker Sandeep Reddy Vanga took to social media on June 21 to commemorate six years since the release of Kabir Singh, the polarizing blockbuster that redefined Bollywood's approach to romantic storytelling. Sharing a nostalgic poster of Kiara Advani soaked in Holi colors, Vanga captioned the post with a simple message: 'Thanks for the love, 6 years for Kabir,' tagging lead actor Shahid Kapoor, music composers, and producers. Released on June 21, 2019, Kabir Singh was the Hindi adaptation of Vanga's own Telugu cult hit Arjun Reddy. While the film courted significant controversy for its depiction of toxic masculinity and emotional volatility, it simultaneously achieved staggering commercial success. Grossing over $40 million worldwide, it became the ninth highest-grossing Indian film of its time. Shahid Kapoor's portrayal of Kabir, a hot-headed surgeon spiraling into self-destruction after heartbreak, drew both critical acclaim and backlash. Despite the polarizing reactions, Kapoor earned a Filmfare nomination, and the film ultimately shifted the perception of romantic heroes in Hindi cinema—from idealized lovers to flawed, emotionally charged individuals. Kabir Singh's continued relevance owes much to its availability on streaming platforms like Netflix, where it continues to attract both new viewers and fresh debate. A 2023 University of Mumbai study cited the film as a turning point that challenged conventional romantic narratives, placing inner turmoil and psychological complexity at the heart of its story. As Vanga prepares for upcoming projects like Animal, his acknowledgment of Kabir Singh's anniversary underscores the film's enduring legacy. Love it or loathe it, Kabir Singh remains a cultural touchstone—provocative, impactful, and very much a part of India's cinematic conversation.

Why Shah Rukh Khan never asked anyone for work
Shah Rukh Khan, a Delhi boy, became a global superstar. His mother's advice shaped his journey. He believes in self-reliance and creating opportunities. Khan avoids shortcuts and favors. He invests his own money in films. Directors and producers seek him. His success stems from merit and charisma. He values what he has achieved. Shah Rukh Khan 's life story is the stuff of cinematic legend. A young boy from Delhi, who arrived in Mumbai with a suitcase full of dreams and barely any connections, only to go on to become one of the biggest and most loved superstars the country — and arguably the world — has ever known. But what often gets overshadowed in the glow of his stardom is the stubborn pride and personal philosophy that's shaped every step of his journey. Exclusive | Kajol CANDID On Horror Fears and Son Yug's Voice Debut In 'Karate Kids: Legends' In one of his heartfelt interviews with Taran Adarsh, Shah Rukh once shared a piece of wisdom passed down by his mother that stayed with him forever: ' Stretch yourself beyond what you have today, and grow enough to cover that stretch tomorrow. And never ask anyone for anything. Teach this to your children as well.' It wasn't just advice — it was a way of living. Born in a modest household in Delhi, Shah Rukh lost both his parents at a young age. Life threw its share of curveballs, but the lessons his mother Fatima had instilled in him — of self-respect, resilience, and relentless hustle — became his armor. Even when he moved to Mumbai in the early '90s, there were no godfathers waiting to launch him, no family connections to open doors. What he had was audacity. A belief that if the door didn't open, he'd break the damn thing down. From Shreyas Iyer to Ibrahim Ali Khan: Nutritionist Nicole Kedia Breaks Down Celeb Diet SECRETS This unyielding principle is perhaps why, even today, despite being one of the biggest producers in the country, King Khan makes films on his own terms. 'I don't ask anyone for work. I invest my own money, make my own films, and I invest it happily,' he said. For him, the joy lies not in chasing offers but in creating opportunities — for himself and for others. He also added, ' I have been given so much that I can't ask for more. I think if I ask, God will feel bad.' And it's not as if the offers weren't there. Directors queued up, producers chased him, writers dreamt of penning roles tailored for him. But Shah Rukh never believed in taking shortcuts or calling in favors. Every role he played, every stage he set foot on, was a result of his merit, his charisma, and the sheer force of his will. SRK will be next seen in King with Deepika Padukone , Rani Mukerji , Suhana Khan , Abhay Verma and many more names. The film is ebing directed by Siddharth Anand of Pathan and War fame.
