Zero tolerance to corruption, asserts CM Chandrababu Naidu
VIJAYAWADA: Making it clear that corruption at any level, in any department, and by anyone will not be tolerated, Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu has directed officials to build an administration focused on zero corruption.
He underscored the need to identify areas where corruption is taking place, conduct inquiries, and take immediate action if allegations are proved.
Holding a meeting with the officials at his camp office in Undavalli on Saturday, the Chief Minister reviewed the feedback received from the public over the past year regarding welfare schemes and development programmes. The officials informed him that the IVRS and CSDS surveys indicated high level of satisfaction among the people with the quality performance of the coalition government.
He instructed that a technical audit be conducted on the survey process, and steps be taken to improve satisfaction in areas with low feedback. He underlined the need for prioritising 10 major public issues such as welfare, employment generation and road infra.
He sought the details of how many people secured jobs through initiatives like work-from-home, investment inflow, and skill development. Besides directing the officials to hold job melas in all 175 Assembly segments, he said all government services should be made available via WhatsApp Governance through the 'Mana Mitra' platform by August 15.

He also suggested exploring better delivery mechanisms to ensure ration supplies reach disabled and elderly citizens at their doorstep. On fair price shops, he stressed the need for gathering beneficiary opinions on alternatives such as increasing the number of shops, providing cash in lieu of ration, or issuing coupons.
Regarding the free sand policy, Naidu directed the officials to conduct area-wise studies to assess dissatisfaction with sand availability, and satisfaction in regions without sand.

Amaravati: After the Yogandhra event at Visakhapatnam on the 11th International Day of Yoga created a new Guinness Book of World Record, Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu said this achievement belongs to every citizen of Andhra Pradesh. A total of 3,00,105 people participated in the event organised by the Government of India. This set the record for the largest yoga lesson ever. Prime Minister Narendra Modi led the event by performing the Common Yoga Protocol with the participants at the RK Beach. He was joined by Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu, Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan, Governor S. Abdul Nazeer, and Central and state ministers. The event was held on a 28-km stretch from RK Beach to Bhogapuram. It broke the record set in 2023 in Surat, which hosted a Yoga session with 1.47 lakh participants at one location. Reacting to a tweet by Guinness World Records on Sunday, Chief Minister Naidu posted that this achievement belongs to every citizen of Andhra Pradesh. 'I thank each and every one of you who made this possible. Your enthusiasm and dedication have been truly inspiring. This record shows what we can accomplish when we unite with a purpose. Congratulations to everyone!' wrote Naidu. 'And we did it! Heartfelt thanks to all the participants, TDP leaders and cadre, government officials, and everyone who contributed to achieving this remarkable feat,' posted Human Resources Development Minister Nara Lokesh. The event marked the culmination of Yogandhra, a month-long initiative by the state government to create public awareness. The programme began at 6.30 a.m. on Saturday, but participants had started arriving as early as 2 a.m. According to officials, a QR code-based tracking system set a new standard for crowd management and real-time attendance accuracy. A day before the main event, Visakhapatnam set another Guinness World Record for the largest synchronised Surya Namaskar with 22,122 tribal students performing together. Additionally, the state achieved 21 recognitions in the World Book of Records, showcasing its organisational excellence and public enthusiasm. Nine Indian Naval warships participated in the main event, symbolising national unity and pride.

To Myanmar with love for Telugu
SRIKAKULAM: 73-year-old Yerra Atchannaidu, alias Yerra Naidu, has dedicated his post-retirement life and personal funds to teaching Telugu to the Telugu-speaking community in Myanmar (Burma), where the language is gradually disappearing. Over 2.5 lakh Telugu people are settled in Myanmar, and in 1911, they formed the 'Andhra Sangham'. Naidu's forefathers migrated to Burma, but his parents returned to India as refugees during the 1966 crisis. Naidu later got a job in the Public Works Department (PWD), shifted to the Airport department in 1990, and retired in 2010 after two decades of service. In 2011, he visited Myanmar to attend the centenary celebrations of the Andhra Sangham in Moulmein city. There, he observed the decline of the Telugu language and resolved to preserve it. 'Although I worked in Central government departments they are unrelated to language. I have an interest in learning our mother tongue and passion in teaching. These two instincts drove me to improve Telugu language status in Burma,' Yerra Naidu told TNIE. Naidu began teaching Telugu. Upon returning to India, he collaborated with Telugu teachers to develop teaching materials, acknowledging that most settlers had become accustomed to the Burmese language. Naidu compiled a Telugu-English-Myanmar (Burmese) dictionary with guidance from language experts, and got two editions of the Telugu-Burmese book published by Telugu Academy.

People of Vizag embrace IYD as a household celebration
Visakhapatnam: It is not just people of Visakhapatnam but also those belonging to the neighbouring districts who came together as an extended family to create a record marking the 11th edition of the International Yoga Day (IYD). Even as Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu called out to embrace yoga into one's daily life, people of Visakhapatnam voluntarily stepped forward to make the event a joyous celebration and a household event. Sacrificing sleep and disregarding stress they have gone through, scores of people from Visakhapatnam and neighbouring districts came in droves to participate in the IYD celebration and contribute to its success. What made the event special is the way the participants disregarded soaring temperatures, long waiting hours and looked at the larger picture of the outcome. 'We came from Kakinada and have been at Beach Road since 1:30 am on Saturday. We are quite happy that we could be part of the IYD celebration hosted in Visakhapatnam on such a massive scale,' a group of students from the neighbouring district shared withThe Hans India. Right from 1 am on Saturday, buses from various places started ferrying the yoga practitioners a little close to the venue. Boarding thousands of buses, lakhs of participants reached the compartments arranged for the purpose hours before the IYD celebrations. Despite such a large-scale participation, Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu lauded the efforts of the district administration, police, Ministers and public representatives for carrying out intense groundwork to make the event incident-free. Appreciating Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu and Deputy Chief Minister K Pawan Kalyan for their visionary leadership in taking the Yogandhra-2025 way forward in a short span of time, the Prime Minister showered praise on IT and Industries Minister Nara Lokesh for his outstanding dedication to mobilise widespread community engagement, transform yoga into an inclusive social celebration and draw participation from various sections of society.
