Risca Beach Party attracted almost 2,000 people this year
Organisers said that across Saturday, June 7 and Sunday, June 8, almost 1,500 of those attendees joined in the fun at the beach party, which was the main attraction.
The free event saw the return of the 'giant urban beach', and offered a range of free activities including donkey rides, craft workshops, and an exotic animal experience.
Stalls selling hot food, drinks, and crafts lined the park, with community information provided to visitors.
Local businesses said they benefitted from the increased footfall, with Risca's high street attracting more attention.
Councillor Jamie Pritchard, deputy leader and cabinet member for prosperity, regeneration and climate change at Caerphilly County Borough Council, said: "It's fantastic to see events like this bringing people into our town centres and supporting local businesses.
"The community really got behind the Risca Beach Party again this year, and we're proud to keep delivering fun, family-focused events that help our high streets thrive."
Sergeant Liam Brown from Gwent Police added: "It was a great turn-out at the annual event, and a great opportunity for myself and the neighbourhood team to speak to residents, traders and visitors, and share some of the work we're doing to keep Risca and the wider community safe."
Risca will next host a Food Feastival later in the year, with more details to follow.

Dozens gather at 999 Emergency Services Day in Caldicot
The event, organised by Caldicot Town Team, took place on Sunday, June 15, and offered an action-packed day for all the family. It featured a variety of emergency services, including Gwent Police, South Wales Fire and Rescue, Blood Bikes Wales, SARA Coastguard, and Mountain Rescue, who gave live demonstrations and had interactive activities. Attendees were given the opportunity to get close to emergency vehicles, meet first responders, and watch the professionals work. A spokesperson for Caldicot Town Team said: "This was a fantastic day out for children and adults alike. "Whether you wanted to experience hands-on activities, watch thrilling rescues in action, or simply enjoy a great day at the park, there was something for everyone." There were also rides and inflatables for children to enjoy. Entry was £3 per person, with a special family ticket available for £10, which included two adults and two children. The event provided a unique opportunity to celebrate the lifesaving work of the emergency services, while also enjoying a memorable day out. The spokesperson added: "We want to thank everyone who came out to support our emergency services, and made this event a success. "We look forward to seeing you all again next year." The 999 Emergency Services Day is an annual event, bringing together essential teams who work tirelessly to protect and support communities, and is set to return once again next year. Tickets for the 2026 event will be available for pre-purchase closer to the time. Stockland Square and Windsor Square in Caerphilly reopened
Stockland Square and Windsor Square were built in the late 1990s and have recently undergone a regeneration project. The regeneration project is part of the Caerphilly Town 2035 Placemaking Plan. The aim is to create a more open social space while introducing more greenery, seating, and improved bin facilities for businesses. Following the completion of the project, the artist responsible for some public art installations in the squares, Julie Westerman, visited to see the transformation. She has also written poems that feature on new benches installed in the square. Ms Westerman said: "It's every artist's hope, that their work will truly belong in the place. "What a great compliment to see that the sculptures have become part of the town's story. "The team at Stride Treglown have done a great job bringing the squares to life, fresh and rejuvenated. "It's a perfect place to sit, people-watch and gossip. "I love that the geese now sit right down beside the people on the benches party to their conversations. "And at night lighting the benches is inspired, it enlivens the whole square." Councillor Jamie Pritchard, deputy leader of Caerphilly County Borough Council, said: "We're grateful to Julie Westerman for returning to Caerphilly and continuing to inspire positive changes for public spaces on Windsor Street and Stockland Street. "These bronze works have become a recognisable feature of the town centre over the last 30 years, so it is wonderful to see them preserved for the future. "This new attraction will provide a welcoming environment for people to enjoy and marks the delivery of another successful project for the Caerphilly Town 2035 placemaking plan."
