Aishwarya Rai 'Knows How To Play With You', Says Zayed Khan: 'Had Her Picture In Locker Room'

Zayed Khan lauded Aishwarya Rai for her professionalism and also praised her 'porcelain' skin.
Aishwarya Rai captured the hearts of millions across the globe when she became Miss World. Zayed Khan was no exception. The actor used to have Aishwarya's posters in his locker room. As such, when he got the opportunity to work with her in Shabd, Zayed quickly agreed. In a recent chat with Siddharth Kannan, Zayed Khan opened up about working with Aishwarya Rai.
Zayed Khan said, 'Shabd was the film that showed a married woman falling in love with a young man. Strangely, all the films that I had chosen were ahead of their time. Shabd had a good story. It was a slice of life told at a time when people weren't ready for it."
He added, 'I was a fan of Aishwarya when she became Miss World. I used to have her picture in the locker room. When I heard the script of the film and learned that Aishwarya is in the film, I quickly asked, 'Where do I sign on?' I had a wonderful experience working with her."
Zayed explained, 'She really knows how to play with you. There are actors who take time to come on set, and there is drama, and actual work is suffering; that's the worst situation to be in. But with Aishwarya, I thought it would be tough to break my fan moment, but she so naturally just said 'hi' and asked me if I wanted to do rehearsals first. She is so beautiful, it's like porcelain, it's not possible. Today, people do filters and all, but she had a natural filter."
About Shabd
Shabd (2005), directed by Leena Yadav, is a psychological drama that delves into the blurred lines between reality and fiction. The film stars Aishwarya Rai as Antara, a college lecturer, and Zayed Khan as Yash Agnihotri, a young admirer who becomes entangled in a complex narrative orchestrated by Antara's husband, Shaukat Vashisht, portrayed by Sanjay Dutt.
The story unfolds as Shaukat, a celebrated author, grapples with writer's block. In a desperate bid for inspiration, he manipulates his wife's emotions by encouraging her to engage with Yash, hoping to fuel his creative process. This psychological experiment spirals out of control, leading to unforeseen consequences for all involved.

The day Salman Khan demonstrated a scene to Shah Rukh Khan for Devdas

During the filming of Sanjay Leela Bhansali's 'Devdas,' amidst strained personal dynamics between Salman Khan and Aishwarya Rai, Salman visited the set and unexpectedly demonstrated a romantic scene to Shah Rukh Khan and Aishwarya. This impromptu act became the last time Salman and Aishwarya shared a film set, marking a poignant moment in Bollywood history before their relationship ended. For over three decades, Salman Khan and Shah Rukh Khan have reigned as two of Bollywood's biggest superstars, individually delivering some of Indian cinema's most iconic blockbusters. The two of them were recently spotted attending the premiere of Aamir Khan 's latest film Sitaare Zameen Par. Fans have celebrated their camaraderie and occasional clashes over the years, there's a lesser-known anecdote from the early 2000s that offers a glimpse into a unique moment they shared — and it happened on the sets of Sanjay Leela Bhansali 's magnum opus Devdas. At the time, Devdas was one of the most ambitious projects being made in Bollywood, with a dream cast featuring Shah Rukh Khan, Aishwarya Rai , and Madhuri Dixit . Behind the scenes, however, personal dynamics were as intense as the film's dramatic storyline. It's a well-documented fact that Salman Khan and Aishwarya Rai were in a relationship after starring together in Bhansali's Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam. But by the time Devdas went into production, their relationship was strained and reportedly nearing its end. Despite the tensions, Salman would often visit the Devdas sets. In her book on Shah Rukh Khan, film critic and journalist Anupama Chopra recounted a fascinating incident from those days. The scene being shot involved Shah Rukh Khan's character Devdas removing a thorn from Paro's (Aishwarya Rai) foot — a delicate, romantic moment between the lead pair. While Shah Rukh, Bhansali, and Aishwarya were executing the scene, Salman, who was present on set, volunteered to demonstrate how the scene should be performed. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Free P2,000 GCash eGift UnionBank Credit Card Apply Now Undo As the camera rolled, Salman enacted the moment with Aishwarya, capturing the tenderness and emotion Bhansali wanted. It was a brief but poignant instance where one superstar subtly directed another in front of the lens. Interestingly, this impromptu scene demonstration also marked the last time Salman Khan and Aishwarya Rai ever shared space in a film setup. Their personal equation deteriorated soon after, and professionally too, they never crossed paths on screen again.

But when one aspirant recently shared hers online, it unexpectedly became the centre of a social media storm. A social media user sparked controversy after publicly mocking a Miss World aspirant who shared her dream of competing in the Miss World pageant, and as an inspirational reminder, got a tattoo of the Miss World crown on her arm. The user posted a clip of the aspirant and wrote, 'I had to re-watch the video 3-4 times to grasp that THIS girl is aspiring to become a Miss World... Well, then I can become the sun or the moon too", a rather distasteful comment, that quickly gained attention for its dismissive tone and personal nature. However, the negativity didn't go unanswered. Miss World Manushi Chhillar, one of the most respected names in pageantry circles, came to the aspirant's defence, with her trademark graceful yet powerful response. Replying to the troll's post, she penned, 'and that would be better than spending your time belittling someone else'.
