Mumbai man plots wife's murder over financial dispute, hires killers for Rs 6 lakh
A Navi Mumbai man hired contract killers for Rs 6 lakh to murder his wife over a financial dispute. Six people have been arrested so far, including three from Navi Mumbai and two contract killers from Noida.The victim, 27-year-old chemist Alvina Kishorsingh Rajput, also known as Alvina Adamali Khan, was brutally murdered just 50 metres from her residence on May 18. A masked assailant approached her as she was returning home at night and slit her throat. The couple married in 2021 and jointly ran a medical store. However, their relationship soured over financial disputes. According to police, Alvina had invested Rs 15 lakh in their business and demanded the money back before agreeing to a divorce, something Rajput was unwilling or unable to do.Ajay Kumar Landge, Additional Commissioner of Police, said that Rajput feared that even after repaying the money, he wouldn't get the divorce and so he plotted her murder.Rajput then allegedly approached Alisha Tyagi, a salon owner from Uttar Pradesh, who agreed to help execute the plan for Rs 6 lakh. She received Rs 5 lakh in advance and roped in her maid, Charanjit Kaur alias Dimple, to connect with two contract killers from Punjab.advertisementThe Navi Mumbai Crime Branch arrested Rajput, Tyagi, and Kaur and handed them over to the Ulwe police. All three were remanded in police custody until May 27.Meanwhile, the two hired killers from Punjab, cousins Sukhpreet Singh and Gurpreet Singh, were tracked down and arrested by the Noida Special Tak Force on May 24.During interrogation, Sukhpreet revealed he had shifted to Mumbai in 2022 along with his cousin. There, he met Tyagi, who offered him the contract. Sukhpreet confessed to ordering a knife online and executing the murder with Gurpreet after conducting surveillance on the victim's routine. Four arrested for robbing businessman of Rs 50 lakh in Mumbai
MUMBAI: The LT Marg Police have cracked the Rs 50 lakh robbery near Crawford Market in south Mumbai and have arrested four persons who at gunpoint had robbed a businessman. Acting swiftly on specific information, officers from the Crime Branch and LT Marg police station apprehended the suspects and recovered the stolen cash, firearms, and incriminating items used in the heist. The robbery took place on Saturday, when the victim, a businessman dealing in precious metals, was intercepted near Crawford Market by two men who posed as law enforcement officers. They forcibly boarded his car, brandished weapons, and assaulted him before snatching a bag containing the money. The suspects then fled in a car with a false number plate. Based on CCTV footage, mobile tracking, and local informants, the police identified the accused as Javed Salim Lakhani (22), Sameer Damodar Jadhav (28), Sagar Damodar Jadhav, and Vikas Shankar Bane. All four were arrested in a coordinated operation and produced before the Esplanade Court. During interrogation, police recovered 10 country-made pistols, multiple live cartridges, Rs 28.16 lakh in cash, and clothing and accessories used to impersonate officials. The car used in the crime has also been seized.

Rohtak shocker: Man dies by suicide after receiving obscene video of wife with lover; claims she pressured him to kill father, sell land for partner's promotion
ROHTAK: A man died by suicide after allegedly being harassed by his wife, Divya, and her alleged lover, Deepak, a police inspector said. The victim has been identified as Magan alias Ajay. A video that Magan received just before ending his life has now surfaced, showing Divya dancing while her boyfriend records the footage. During the video, the two can be seen engaging in obscene behaviour. According to Magan's family, Divya herself sent this video to her husband. The emotional trauma that followed reportedly led Magan to hang himself last week. Before dying, Magan recorded a video where he alleged that his wife Divya and her police officer boyfriend were mentally harassing him. He claimed Divya pressured him to murder his own father and sell ancestral land so that Deepak could get a promotion in his police job. In the video, Magan appealed to the police to take strict action against both of them. Magan's body was found hanging from a tree on the night of June 18 in Dobh village here. He stated, 'Divya has an affair with Deepak, a policeman posted in Sambhajinagar (formerly Aurangabad), Maharashtra. Both of them have mentally tortured me.' He further revealed that both Divya and Deepak pressurised him to kill his father and sell ancestral property. 'They want to buy a flat in Mumbai using that money. But I can't kill my father, so I am ending my life,' Magan said. Magan also claimed that Deepak needed Rs 5 lakh for a job promotion. 'After selling wheat, I gave Rs 1.5 lakh to Divya. On June 9, 2025, I mortgaged my gold bracelet and gave her another Rs 2 lakh. The transaction records are in a file kept at home. Even after paying Rs 3.5 lakh, they were demanding another Rs 1.5 lakh from me,' he said. Magan said he discovered 1.5 years into the marriage that Divya was already married and had a son from that marriage. She did not legally divorce before marrying him. 'When I consulted a lawyer, he advised me to file a case since Hindu law doesn't allow remarriage without divorce. But I never took action and instead paid her to settle with her first husband.' Owner Of Flat, Where Sonam Raghuvanshi, Killers Lived, Suspected Of Hiding Evidence
New Delhi: The owner of the flat where murder-accused Sonam Raghuvanshi and her aides lived after killing her husband, Raja Raghuvanshi, is under the scanner of the Meghalaya SIT for concealing evidence. Lokendra Tomar, an infrastructure company owner, allegedly took Sonam's bag containing a country-made pistol, her phone, Raja's jewellery, and Rs five lakh cash from the house in Indore's Hirabagh locality, police sources believe. Tomar emerged as a suspect while the police were questioning Silome James, the property dealer from Indore who rented the flat to the murder accused. According to James, Tomar had asked the property dealer to remove Sonam's bag from the flat shortly after she surrendered to the police. However, when he did not, the flat owner took it. Police sources said Tomar also tried to get the CCTV footage of the car showroom near his flat. Tomar is currently missing, and his phone is switched off. The police are carrying out raids to locate him in Indore, sources said. What we know about Sonam's bag According to the Meghalaya Special Investigation Team (SIT), Silome James had rented a flat in Indore's Hirabagh locality to one of three killers - Vishal Singh Chauhan. The victim's wife, Sonam Raghuvanshi, is also believed to have stayed in the flat between May 26 and June 8, before she surrendered to the police. During her interrogation, Sonam said she left a black-coloured bag in the flat on June 8 and left for Ghazipur. Sonam's phone, Raja's jewellery, Rs five lakh cash, and a country-made pistol were kept in the bag. However, when the police raided the house, they did not find anything. Preliminary investigation, however, revealed that two days after Sonam surrendered, James and the building's security guard, Balveer, went to the flat and removed the bag and other evidence items. They allegedly set the bag on fire and destroyed it. The security guard was given Rs 5,000 to hide the evidence - following which he helped conceal it and escaped to his home in Ashok Nagar. James also took Sonam's laptop, which was later thrown away by his wife. The two were allegedly caught concealing the evidence in one of the CCTV cameras collected by the Meghalaya SIT. They were subsequently arrested. The Honeymoon Murder Case Raja and Sonam got married on May 11. Nine days later, they left for their honeymoon in Meghalaya on May 20 - with a one-way ticket in hand. The couple roamed around in the Northeast for three days before going "missing". When their family members could not reach them, they reached out to the police. What initially started as a probe to find the couple, turned into a murder investigation when Raja's body was found in a gorge on June 2, ten days after the brutal crime. His preliminary autopsy report revealed that he was attacked twice - once each on the back and front of his head. On the night of June 7, Sonam was found in an unconscious state at a 'dhaba' in Ghazipur. She was taken to the Ghazipur Medical College for treatment, where she surrendered before the police. The remaining three killers were also subsequently arrested. Preliminary investigation revealed that during their honeymoon, Sonam and Raja carried four phones ( of which three belonged to Sonam). After the three hitmen killed her husband, Sonam broke his phone and threw the damaged device, the police said. The other three mobile phones that belonged to Sonam are still missing, and the police are searching for them.
