Better solutions for the future
According to PruBSN chief executive officer Wan Saifulziral Wan Ismail, medical claims inflation has risen by about 16% annually between 2021 and 2023 as inflation and healthcare costs have soared over the years.
Despite this, he maintains that PruBSN is committed to offering quality protection solutions that strike the right balance between affordability and comprehensive coverage.
'We continue to focus on sustainable innovation – enhancing value for our customers without compromising coverage and the quality of protection.

With healthcare expenditure projected to double by 2028, these solutions are built to address both physical and financial risks, empowering Malaysians to face life's uncertainties with confidence.
Inclusive and accessible healthcare
At the heart of PruBSN's philosophy lies the spirit of Ta'awun – the principle of mutual assistance.
PruBSN's Tabarru' fund enables participants to support one another in times of need, reflecting the company's commitment to inclusive, accessible healthcare and social sustainability.
According to Wan, PruBSN's Microtakaful Jariyah initiative embodies this spirit by offering complimentary protection to B40 breadwinners.
The programme supports underserved communities by offering coverage to more than 188,000 individuals, with nearly RM5mil in claims disbursed since its inception.

Civil service still in demand, PSC expects 1.3 million applications this year, says chairman

BUTTERWORTH: The Public Service Commission of Malaysia (PSC) expects continued strong interest among Malaysians, including youths, to join the civil service this year, with applications projected to reach up to 1.3 million. Its chairman, Datuk Dr Ahmad Jailani Muhamed Yunus, said the estimate was based on application trends and the encouraging response to the Kembara Kerjaya PSC outreach programme. "In previous years, we received up to 1.2 million applications and this year, we may reach 1.3 million. This indicates that interest in civil service careers remains high, despite the discontinuation of the pension scheme. "Therefore, we are intensifying our outreach efforts to ensure that job-seeking youths are well-informed of current opportunities in the public sector through the PSC," he told reporters at the Kembara Kerjaya SPA @ Penang 2025 programme here Saturday (June 21). The programme aims to raise awareness and provide exposure to PSC services, to help individuals chart a career path in the public service. Ahmad Jailani said the Kembara Kerjaya programme has been held in Sabah, Sarawak, Terengganu and Penang during the first half of this year, attracting more than 10,000 visitors. Besides physical events, the programme is also conducted virtually and has drawn significant traffic to the PSC website. He said the next edition will be in Kelantan next month, followed by Putrajaya, Melaka, Perak, Johor and Kuala Lumpur, to provide the public with a platform for direct and interactive engagement with PSC personnel. "Visitors will also receive guidance on application procedures, status updates and recruitment consultations through SPA briefing sessions during the programme," he said. He added that the programme involves personnel from all major PSC divisions and the PSC Outreach Squad, who conduct briefings, consultations and other activities to highlight the commission's roles, services and information to target groups. - Bernama
