Should the Boston Celtics take UConn wing Liam McNeeley in the 2025 NBA draft? Previously seen as a potential pick in the draft lottery, McNeely was miscast and overburdened in his sole season at the University of Connecticut with a lot of expectations riding on his shoulders the season after back-to-back national titles by the Huskies, the 3-point specialist has now found himself slipping into Boston's range as a result of his poor efficiency at the NCAA level.
Would it be a good gamble for the Celtics to take this high-upside shooter if he slips to their range? Should they consider trading up to get him if the cost is not high?
The hosts of the CLNS Media "How Bout Them Celtics!" podcast, Jack Simone and Sam LaFrance, took some time on a recent episode of their show to talk it over. Check it out below!

NBA champions list: Will Pacers or Thunder win 2025 title?

The NBA will be crowning a new champion for the seventh consecutive season on Sunday. The Oklahoma City Thunder will host the Indiana Pacers in Game 7 of the NBA Finals, with the winner receiving the Larry O'Brien Championship Trophy. It would be the Thunder franchise's first title since 1979, when it won the NBA championship as the Seattle SuperSonics. Oklahoma City had only made one other Finals appearance, in 2012, since relocating in 2008. A win for Tyrese Haliburton and the Pacers would provide the franchise with its first NBA championship. Their only other NBA Finals appearance came in 2000 against the Los Angeles Lakers. The Pacers won the ABA (American Basketball Association) championship in 1970, 1972 and 1973. UNC basketball star a late first-round in ESPN's latest NBA Mock Draft

The NBA Draft takes center stage in the sports world on Wednesday, June 25 – and there's a strong likelihood a former UNC basketball star will hear his name called. The Tar Heel in question is Drake Powell, who grew up minutes from Chapel Hill – and watched his dream come true last year. Powell started his freshman campaign as one of North Carolina's top bench options, but after a few strong offensives performances and consistent lockdown defense, Powell became a mainstay in the starting lineup. Advertisement Many wondered if Powell would withdraw soon after initially declaring for the NBA Draft, but Powell proved he was NBA-ready in just one year at UNC. In ESPN's latest NBA Mock Draft, Powell goes 28th overall – which is a late, first-round selection – to the Boston Celtics. Nothing says welcome to the pros like playing for arguably the NBA's most-storied franchise. Boston holds a league-leading 18 NBA titles, breaking a tie with the Los Angeles Lakers in the 2024 Finals. The Celtics are a deep team, with former Duke superstar Jayson Tatum and Cal-Berkeley star Jaylen Brown leading the charge. Boston starts former All-Stars Kristaps Porzingis, Al Horford and Jrue Holiday, with Holiday taking Tatum's starting spot after the latter's season-ending achilles injury. Derrick White, one of the NBA's top undervalued guards, rounds out the starting lineup. Advertisement The Celtics have all the offensive firepower an NBA team could imagine, but they're also a great defensive squad. Powell's defensive presence would only add to Boston's firepower, while Powell is also more than capable of dropping 10 points – on any given night. Boston Celtics jersey history No. 21 - Ron Bonham (1964-66)

The Boston Celtics have had players suiting up in a total of 68 different jersey numbers (and have three others not part of any numerical series) since their founding at the dawn of the Basketball Association of America (BAA -- the league that would become today's NBA), worn by well over 500 players in the course of Celtics history. To commemorate the players who wore those numbers, Celtics Wire is covering the entire history of jersey numbers and the players who sported them since the founding of the team. With 25 of those jerseys now retired to honor some of the greatest Celtics to wear those jerseys, there is a lot of history to cover. And for today's article, we will continue with the ninth of nine people to wear the No. 21, Boston wing alum Ron Bonham. After ending his college career at Cincinnati, Bonham was picked up with the 18th overall selection of the 1964 NBA draft by the Celtics. The Muncie, Indiana native would play the first two seasons of his pro career with Boston before temporarily retiring from the league, winning two titles with the team in a reserve role in that stretch. During his time suiting up for the Celtics, Bonham wore only jersey No. 21 and put up 6.3 points and 1.5 rebounds per game. All stats and data courtesy of Basketball Reference.
