The Blues conceded twice and saw Jackson dismissed for a horror tackle in the space of just six minutes after the break.

Their woes were compounded when Wallace Yan wrapped up the scoring late on, adding to earlier goals from fellow substitute Bruno Henrique and veteran Danilo.
The result – played out in front of a crowd of 54,019 at Lincoln Financial Field – left Chelsea with a win and a loss from their two outings in Group D having earlier looked set to take a giant stride towards the last 16.
It made for a disappointing full debut for new striker Liam Delap, who had been brought into the side for Jackson, but a notable scalp for Flamengo manager Filipe Luis, formerly of the London club.

The game got off to lively and feisty start yet while the Brazilians looked more at ease in the heat – 27C at kick-off – they struggled to carve out clear-cut openings.
Former Chelsea midfielder Jorginho did fire over in the early stages but Robert Sanchez was not troubled in goal.
Despite a lack of possession and a subdued performance from Cole Palmer out wide, Chelsea offered a threat on the counter-attack.

Delap went close to opening the scoring when he burst clear and forced Agustin Rossi to palm over.

Chelsea grabbed the lead when Neto benefited from a fortunate ricochet after being struck by an attempted clearance from Wesley.
The Portuguese broke clear from halfway and calmly tucked away his second goal of the tournament from the edge of the box.
Neto almost created another for Delap but his pull-back was cut out by Wesley and Chelsea had a penalty appeal rejected after Enzo Fernandez went down in the area.
Levi Colwill headed clear off the line after a Flamengo free-kick was slung into the area but it was not until the second period the Brazilians began to cause serious problems.

Gerson should have equalised when he cut back inside Colwill to create an opportunity but his mishit shot was intercepted by Trevoh Chalobah. It rebounded to Gonzalo Plata but he somehow poked wide.
Chelsea were inches away from a second when Leo Pereira, under pressure from Delap, clipped the ball narrowly past his own post but the Blues had little control.
They had another escape when Sanchez tipped over from Plata.
The equaliser came just after the hour when Plata headed back across goal and Henrique raced in to pounce at the back post.

Chelsea were reeling and were stung again just moments later as Henrique turned provider to head back a corner for Danilo to volley in.

Chelsea's capitulation continued as Jackson, just minutes after coming off the bench, was given his marching orders for a reckless challenge in which he caught Ayrton Lucas on the shin with force.
Yan rubbed salt in the wounds seven minutes from time when he readjusted and tucked home after getting in the way of a shot from team-mate Plata.

Tom Brady rips an Eli Manning jersey apart in ultimate act of disrespect towards his former nemesis

Tom Brady brutally trolled his former rival Eli Manning on Friday by ripping his New York Giants jersey in half. The seven-time Super Bowl champion made an appearance at Fanatics Fest in New York City, much to the delight of the thousands of fans in attendance. Brady spoke to some of the crowd at Manhattan's Javits Center before then taking part in a WWE-style performance later on. The Fox commentator came out to the theme song of pro wrestler Cody Rhodes wearing sunglasses and carrying a WWE-style championship belt. But, as he made his way down to the walkway, Brady was presented with a Giants jersey that had 'Manning 10' on the back. The former New England Patriots quarterback then ripped the jersey in half in a playful dig at Manning. Brady's actions prompted Manning, who was watching on, to storm the stage and climb on his rival's back. Their rivalry dates back to their stellar NFL careers, when Manning and the Giants were able to briefly halt the Patriots' dominant run to beat them in two Super Bowls. The Giants stunned Bill Belichick's team to win 17-14 in Arizona in 2008, despite being heavy underdogs after Brady led his men to a perfect 16-0 regular season. Then, four years after, the Patriots were stunned by the Giants again when they were beaten 21-17 in Indianapolis. Manning was named Super Bowl MVP that year. Brady and Manning quickly regained their composure and were later pictured competing against each other in a baseball pitching contest.

Nicolas Jackson apologises for sending off against Flamengo

The 24-year-old was sent off for raking his studs down the shin of Lucas Ayrton just four minutes after coming on as Enzo Maresca's side collapsed in the second half. 'I want to say sorry. To the club, the staff, my team-mates, and all the fans watching, I let you down,' said Jackson, who was sent off against Newcastle in their third-last Premier League match. 68' You can't script Jackson subbed on… and sent off 4 minutes later 🟥😱 Watch the @FIFACWC | June 14 – July 13 | Every Game | Free | | #FIFACWC #TakeItToTheWorld #FLACHE — DAZN Football (@DAZNFootball) June 20, 2025 'Another red card… And honestly, I'm so angry at myself. I work hard every day to help the team not to put us in this kind of situation. 'I still don't fully understand how it happened. But one thing is clear: it wasn't intentional. Just a moment in football that went the wrong way. 'No excuses. I take full responsibility. I'll reflect, I'll grow, and I'll come back stronger for the badge and for everyone who believes in me. 'Sorry. Sorry, Sorry.' When Maresca was asked about Jackson's challenge and his recent indiscipline he told DAZN: 'It was a red card, so nothing to say.' However, Chelsea defender Marc Cucurella admitted it was something the 24-year-old had to improve. 'He is young player, he has a lot of quality, he maybe needs to improve this a little bit. We are here to improve, we are not perfect so it is part of the game,' he said. The Blues were leading through Pedro Neto's 13th-minute strike but after second-half goals from Bruno Henrique and Danilo in quick succession Jackson saw red and Wallace Yan scored the Brazil side's third. Maresca put the damaging defeat down to 'trying something new' for next season. 65' ABSOLUTE SCENES: Danilo scores and @Flamengo_en complete their comeback under just 3 minutes 😱 Watch the @FIFACWC | June 14 – July 13 | Every Game | Free | | #FIFACWC #TakeItToTheWorld #FLACHE — DAZN Football (@DAZNFootball) June 20, 2025 'It completely changed the game. Unfortunately we conceded two goals in a short moment and then the red card and then I think it is complicated to get back into the game,' the Chelsea boss added. 'We tried – but congratulations to them. They deserved to win. 'We tried to do something different in the game, for next season and for the future.'

NFL WAG Kristin Juszczyk put through grueling workout by husband Kyle

Couples who train together, stay together - that's if San Francisco 49ers star Kyle Juszczyk and wife Kristin are anything to go by. The fashion designer was put through her paces by her NFL beau Friday when she joined him in a grueling preseason workout. With the 2025 NFL season looming, the fullback began ramping up his preparation, taking to the field to run a series of drills and Kristin joined him for a 'dreaded 'come train with me"' day. Kristin, whose sports-inspired designs blew up after Taylor Swift wore one her custom puffer jackets to a Kansas City Chiefs game, shared a video to Instagram Friday showing her mimicking her husband's workouts to Survivor's 'Eye of the Tiger.' The entrepreneur, who married the Niner in 2019, copied Kyle as he tossed a medicine ball over his head and carried out a plank, crunches and sprints among other drills. On the whole, Kristin managed to hold her own, only occasionally losing her balance and failing to launch the weighted ball as far as her partner. View this post on Instagram A post shared by Kristin Juszczyk (@kristinjuszczyk) The fashion designer was captured mimicking her NFL beau's tough training regime Social media users were left impressed in the comment section, with one writing: 'Honestly crushed it.' 'He's not taking it easy on you at all lol,' another claimed, while a third added: 'Ok but you held your own during that workout- slaaaayed it!' The couple have endured a turbulent offseason, with Kyle, at one point, appearing likely to return to the Bay Area next season. Kyle was cut by the Niners in March following eight seasons with the team, only for San Francisco to sign him to a new contract just four days later. The 49ers had initially decided to cut Kyle, instead of paying him a $4.1m salary this season and up to an additional $500,000 in offseason workout and per-game roster bonuses. The team took on a $3.6m dead cap charge with the move but brought him back on a new two-year, $8million contract. He was also nearly cut last season but agreed to take a pay cut to stay in San Francisco. Juszczyk began his career with the Baltimore Ravens after they picked him in the fourth round of the 2013 NFL Draft. The 33-year-old was one of the first players signed after 49ers coach Kyle Shanahan and general manager John Lynch took over in 2017 and has been a key part of the offense since then thanks to his versatility. Kyle faced a turbulent offseason after being cut by the 49ers only to later sign a new deal In an era when few teams use fullbacks, Juszczyk has played about half the offensive snaps during his time with San Francisco and has made the Pro Bowl all eight seasons with the team and nine times overall. He was a first-team All-Pro in 2023 and second-teamer in 2024 after fullbacks were added back as a position for All-Pro the past two years. Juszczyk had 19 catches for 200 yards and two touchdowns last season, while also rushing for 26 yards and a touchdown. He has 184 catches for 1,895 yards and 13 touchdowns in eight seasons with the Niners, along with 237 yards rushing and six more touchdowns on the ground.
