Roma make Flamengo's Wesley top priority

Roma are accelerating on the defensive front and is firmly targeting Wesley, Flamengo's right-back and a profile already known to Gian Piero Gasperini from the time he followed him for Atalanta. The Giallorossi coach considers the 21-year-old player an ideal piece for his system. Advertisement According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Wesley is Roma's priority target to strengthen the defense. Despite the constraints imposed by the Settlement Agreement and the need to achieve some capital gains by June 30, the club is intent on making the move. Flamengo values its young talent at around 20 million euros, but the negotiation can only get going after the end of the Club World Cup, a competition that the Brazilian club is currently playing. The player's contractual situation is complex, as often happens for South American footballers. Flamengo only owns 70% of the defender's economic rights, while the remaining 30% belongs to MCL Esporte, the agency that looks after the player's interests.

Chelsea boss yet to speak to Mykhailo Mudryk on doping charges

Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca has revealed he has not yet spoken to winger Mykhailo Mudryk since the Ukrainian was charged with violating anti-doping rules. The 24-year-old is facing a lengthy ban after the Football Association announced on Thursday it had charged the player. Mudryk has not played since being suspended last December after testing positive for a prohibited substance. He was last seen in public at the Europa Conference League final in Wroclaw last month having attended in a private capacity. Mudryk is not allowed to train with the squad, who are currently at the Club World Cup in the United States. Speaking ahead of the Blues' second match of the tournament against Flamengo in Philadelphia on Friday, Maresca said: "I spoke with 'Misha' in Poland when we played the Conference League final but I didn't speak with him since that time. "To be honest, I didn't see the news. They communicated (it to) me last night. There is nothing more that I can add at the moment because I don't have more information." Chelsea did not officially comment after the charges were announced but have previously said they are supporting the player. Maresca said: "The last time I spoke with Misha he was quite good. I didn't see him worried, or at least I didn't see him not good. It was OK. "I don't know how he is now but for sure in the next days, weeks, we're going to have a talk." Chelsea are in the market for a new winger this summer, and have been heavily linked with Borussia Dortmund's Jamie Gittens, but Maresca says that is not because of the Mudryk situation. The Italian said: "We had already one entire season, almost, without Misha. "We've decided to go for a winger not because of Misha. It's something quite clear, it's a position that we need to improve." Maresca dismissed speculation over the future of another winger in England international Noni Madueke, with reports Arsenal are monitoring his situation. Maresca said: "Noni is our player. In this moment, you can read much speculation about many players, but Noni is our player. We consider Noni our player for next season." Maresca is set to make changes to his side for the Flamengo clash at Lincoln Financial Field due to the anticipated heat. The Blues, who opened their campaign in Group D with a 2-0 win over LAFC, are set to face the Brazilians at 2pm local time, with the temperature forecast to reach 28C. Maresca said: "It's not easy because of the temperature. This is the reason why we're going to try to rotate players. "Unfortunately for us, as a Brazilian team, they are more used to playing in this temperature - but it doesn't matter. We're going to try to do our best to win the game." 200658 JUN 25

Araujo's goal was a thing of beauty, and it will be up to Moises Caicedo to ensure he doesn't get that amount of time and space at the Linc on Friday. Pedro Neto and Enzo Fernandez helped Chelsea see off LAFC, but the performance left a lot to be desired, with the likes of Cole Palmer and Noni Madueke never getting out of first gear. Liam Delap's assist on debut was the biggest positive for Enzo Maresca's men, though Romeo Lavia in particular seemed to love the FIFA Club World Cup's individual walkouts. Both teams expressed their shock that their opening games were played in near-empty stadiums, and with this clash scheduled for 2 p.m. local time at a 67,000-seater arena, they'd better get used to it. Flamengo vs Chelsea predictions: Club World Cup tips and odds

Our expert has three tips for the Club World Cup game between Flamengo and Chelsea at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on Friday (kick-off, 7pm BST). We expect goals in this Group D tussle. Flamengo vs Chelsea tips Both teams to score @ 4/5 with Sky Bet Giorgian de Arrascaeta to score @ 10/3 with Sky Bet 25+ match total fouls committed @ 10/11 with Sky Bet Odds courtesy of Sky Bet. Correct at the time of publication and subject to change. Already a Sky Bet member? Check out more free bets from the best betting sites, reviewed by our experts. Philly stakes can lead to goals Punters should keep things simple for what should be a cracker of a match when Flamengo take on Chelsea, with both teams to score looking a value bet at 4/5. Both have made winning starts in Group D and Flamengo in particular will be keen to show what they are all about. As well as reaching the last 16 of this year's Copa Libertadores, they are top of Serie A in Brazil and averaging 2.18 goals per game. They should find the net against the Blues, who looked shaky at the back against Los Angeles FC on Monday. Both teams scored in 22 of Chelsea's 38 top-flight fixtures last term. De Arrascaeta can strike again One man to watch in the Flamengo team is midfielder Giorgian de Arrascaeta. The Uruguayan scored in his team's 2-0 win over ES Tunis and has netted in four of his previous six games for club and country. Deployed just behind a lone striker, he can sniff out an opportunity against Chelsea and is overpriced to score at 10/3 with Sky Bet. Foul count should rise There is plenty riding on this match and both teams could adopt an aggressive approach. Although not high by Serie A standards, Flamengo have averaged 12.4 fouls per game in the league this season and could rely on their physicality to overpower the Blues. Chelsea, meanwhile, racked up 11 fouls against LAFC and 16 in the Conference League final against Real Betis. Their players may be feeling the weight of this season's workload and, with serial foulers Moises Caicedo and Enzo Fernandez likely to be involved, a match total of 25+ fouls appeals at 10/11. Flamengo vs Chelsea odds All odds courtesy of Sky Bet. Correct at the time of publication and subject to change.
