New light rail stations open this weekend in Redmond

Two new Link light rail stations will open this weekend in southeast Redmond: Marymoor Village and Downtown Redmond.
The Link 2 Line service will begin on Saturday, May 10.
Sound Transit is kicking off the excitement with a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 10:30 a.m. at the downtown Redmond station. Passenger service will likely begin around noon.
From noon to 4 p.m., celebrations will take place at both new stations, featuring live music, food vendors, and family-friendly activities. Everyone is welcome to join!
One service is underway, two-car trains will run every 10 minutes, 16 hours each day.
The initial segment of the 2 Line between South Bellevue and Redmond Technology Station opened on April 27, 2024, with first-day ridership of 35,000.
Starting Saturday, it will serve the following stations:
South Bellevue
East Main
Bellevue Downtown
Wilburton
Spring District
BelRed
Overlake Village
Redmond Technology
Marymoor Village – opens May 10
Downtown Redmond – opens May 10
Service will run from 5:30 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. daily.
It will connect with the regional transit network at South Bellevue, Bellevue Downtown, Redmond Technology, Marymoor Village, and Downtown Redmond stations.
Parking
The Marymoor Village station has a new 1,400-stall parking garage, located on Northeast 70th Street.
Parking is also available at South Bellevue, BelRed, and Redmond Technology stations.
Several stations are accessible from the Eastrail corridor and the regional trail network.
Secure bike parking is available at every station.
What's next?
The rest of the 2 Line is projected to open in late 2025 with the completion of the I-90 segment of East Link.
That segment includes the Mercer Island and Judkins Park stations on the 2 Line and connects to the 1 Line at the International District/Chinatown Station in downtown Seattle.

Seattle is hosting six FIFA Club World Cup games between June 15 and June 23, and since the games are expected to draw tens thousands of people, Sound Transit is offering additional services for riders. These games are expected to draw 100,000 to 150,000 visitors to the City. Rapid-transit corridor construction begins Monday

Jun. 10—ROCHESTER — Construction of Rochester's Link Bus Rapid Transit corridor will be added to downtown construction Monday. Deemed a major milestone in the city's transportation future, the project aims to bring faster and environmentally sustainable transit service to city residents, downtown employees and visitors in the downtown area, stretching west through the Uptown Neighborhood. The Link system is expected to be operational in 2027, with anticipated service providing 11,000 rides daily along the planned 2.8-mile corridor. Construction of the route and related amenities is expected to begin in phases along Second Street Southwest, starting with utility upgrades and leading to full roadway improvements as the project progresses. Phases will include: * June 16 to mid-July: Water and stormwater infrastructure improvements will be made on Second Street Southwest between 11th and 12th avenues. Traffic will be shifted to the south curb, leaving one lane of travel in each direction. * Mid-July to mid-August: Infrastructure improvements, traffic will shift to the north curb on Second Street Southwest between between 11th and 12th avenues, leaving one lane of travel in each direction. While construction is underway, residents and businesses can expect temporary lane reductions and closures along the Second Street Southwest corridor. Sound Transit looking for input on Everett light rail Link extension

If you use light rail — or plan to in the future — Sound Transit wants your feedback. They've opened a new survey for the Everett Link extension project, and they're asking how you'd like to get to the stations, whether that's walking, biking, or rolling. Most stations do not have plans for new parking additions at this time. You can give your feedback here. If you'd rather share your thoughts in person, there's a public meeting on Thursday, June 5 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at Cascade High School in Everett (801 E Casino Road) Public commentary should be submitted by June 29. The Everett Link extension is still in the planning phases and the environmental review phase. It's expected to open between 2037 and 2041 and will have about 16 miles of track. What does the Everett Link look like? Stations: West Alderwood, Ash Way, Mariner, SW Everett Industrial Center, SR 526/Evergreen, Everett Station, and one provisional (unfunded) station at SR 99/Airport Road. Service: Every 4-6 minutes during peak commuting hours, 10-15 minutes midday, weekends, and evenings. Estimated travel times: Everett to Lynnwood City Center in 33 minutes. Everett to downtown Seattle in 60 minutes.
