NFL schedule release: Colts delete, apologize for 'Minecraft'-inspired video over Microsoft rights, Tyreek Hill joke
You know that trope in which two people show up to a party wearing the exact same thing? The Indianapolis Colts might have just done that with the kings of NFL schedule release day.
A schedule release video in which best-selling video game "Minecraft" is used to roast every opponent is such a specific idea, and yet the Colts and Los Angeles Chargers both did exactly that on Wednesday. The Chargers have been doing stuff like this for years, first with anime in 2022 and 2023, then "The Sims" in 2024.

In the case of 2025, the Chargers used the Microsoft-published title to take digs at Jameis Winston, Mike McDaniel, the Colts' QB battle, the Minnesota Vikings' playoff stumble, the Pittsburgh Steelers' purgatory, the Tuck Rule, Jason Kelce's phone destruction, the Kansas City Chiefs' Super Bowl destruction (maybe a bridge too far for the ring-less Chargers) and the Micah Parsons-DeMarcus Lawrence feud.
It got awkward, however, when the Colts posted a shockingly similar video. We also can't give you the Colts' tweet with the video, because it was taken down roughly an hour after it was posted. That decision raised eyebrows until the team released a statement Thursday.
In that statement, the Colts explained the video was taken down due to a rights issue with Microsoft and an inappropriate joke about Miami Dolphins wide receiver Tyreek Hill.
Fortunately, the internet is rather good at preserving stuff like this. As you can see, the Colts' production values are a step behind the Chargers', but we'd argue the roasts are of a similar quality.
So, why were the Chargers allowed to keep their video up? The Chargers thought about the rights issue before posting the video. The team obtained Microsoft's blessing to use Minecraft, and started its video by stating, "Minecraft used with permission from Microsoft Corporation." The Colts had no such warning. We will also point out the Washington Commanders' "Roller Coaster Tycoon" parody, the Atlanta Falcons' "Mario Kart" parody and the San Francisco 49ers' "Oregon Trail" parody all don't feature the actual names or logos of the games those teams are spoofing.

It also appears the joke about Tyreek Hill's maritime legal troubles, might have been too spicy for someone's tastes.

The Colts did at least have a backup video, in which they just have players guess whom they're playing. Some teams will make multiple videos for schedule release day, such as the Los Angeles Rams putting out a Brenda Song local news parody and a player guessing game similar to the Colts'.
Meanwhile, the New York Jets just decided to have fun with the situation.
This all goes to show you really never know what's going to happen on NFL schedule release day.

All five starters on the unit are signed through the 2027 season. Advertisement A big reason for Philadelphia's recent success in the trenches has been its two stalwart tackles, Jordan Mailata and Lane Johnson. Since both were named starters, Philadelphia's line has reached new heights as a collective unit. They have blocked for a 2,000-yard runner, an MVP finalist, and have won a Super Bowl. Pro Football Focus is just the latest publication to speak out in favor of Philadelphia's tackle tandem. In their weekly series ranking each position group, the analytics site ranked Mailata and Johnson as the best offensive tackle duo in the league. "Bookending the best offensive line in football, Mailata and Johnson are the best offensive tackle duo in the NFL and, arguably, the best players at their respective positions," Zoltán Buday said. "Mailata's 95.2 PFF overall grade led all offensive tackles in 2024, while Johnson's 88.9 figure ranked second among right tackles. Johnson's 2.2 percent pressure rate allowed ranked second among all tackles and led all right tackles, while Mailata's 3.7 percent clip ranked eighth among all offensive tackles." Philadelphia has had a strong history of excellent tackle play. Mailata and Johnson are just the latest duo to excel. Johnson, the former fourth-overall pick out of Oklahoma, is a five-time All-Pro and considered maybe the best right tackle in modern history. Mailata, meanwhile, was a seventh-round draft steal who has grown from a rugby star to an NFL success story. Few teams in the league have two quality tackles on their roster. Even fewer can claim both of their tandem as Pro Bowl talents. The Eagles are the only team that can call both of its tackles the best at their respective positions. Your 2025 Dolphins Offensive Stat Leaders
A couple of nights ago, I asked the following question: What's your prediction for who will lead the Miami Dolphins offense in any statistical category? Give us your list of leaders, along with statistical numbers, if you also want to predict those. Below are some of your thoughts and answers- Advertisement SlayerNation1 has all of the usual suspects. Achane 800/400 yards Hill 1400 (Waddle will miss games 1100) Tua 3,000 yards passing, will miss games Smith if He plays 700 yards, many of his short passes/behind LOS passes could go to a RB or Conner. Mcadaniel leads the league with 30 Delays of Game dedstrk316 added some new statistical categories. Injuries: Tua, Chubb, Phillips, at least one oline player. Timeouts due to not being able to get the play call in on time: McDaniel Hissy Fits: Tyreek Being a total badass: Seiler and Grant How the heck did he do that: Achane, Waddle Yarganaught doesn't know who it's going to be but believes that the run game will be a focus this coming season. Oh gosh, I really don't have any idea who will be The Man at any spot. I think the running game will be a focus, and the O-line will improve in that area. But will those carries go to Achane, or will he become an increased passing threat? Perhaps Wright or Gordon II will surpass him in rushing yards and TDs. As mentioned below by JUK, will MMD spurn Hill's ego (in what could be his final season with Miami) in turn for Waddle's? Similarly, will MMD try to replace Jonnu's TE production with one of the other TEs on the roster, will Achane assume many of those shorter yardage passes, or will a WR3 step up as the TE (Pharoah) assumes more of a blocking role again? And that's just on Offense!!! Dolphster sees the status quo remaining. Interesting question. I think Tua, Achane, and Hill will still lead in passing, rushing, and re Smith will stay, play to the same standard but be at least 20% down in counting statsceiving. Even if Jonnu stays, I don't foresee him replicating last year's stats, so I don't see him repeating for most receiving TDs. Not sure who I would guess would take that lead this year though. Maybe Achane for most overall TDs, but not receiving TDs. JUK has Achane leading the team in yards and Waddle besting Hill. Achane will lead the team in total yards from scrimmage, that's the easiest call for me if he's healthy. Waddle will outplay Hill, whether he leads the team in receiving yards depends if McD has learned his lesson or if he keeps trying to feed balls to protect Reek's ego. Bill Moody sees Tua staying healthy. QB (All) - Tua (he stays healthy) RB (Rushing and Scrimmage Yards, TDs) - Achane (Wright didn't look good last year, and Ollie is new) WR (Receiving Yards) - HIll (while I think both Hill and Waddle will have a resurgance, I think Hill gonna be on a warpath) These seem most likely to me.
