Wrexham AFC's Championship rivals announce new managers
That is a third of the 24 clubs in the second tier electing to have a new boss on the touchline for the 2025-26 campaign.
Bristol City (Liam Manning - Gerhard Struber), Hull City (Ruben Selles - Sergej Jakirovic), Middlesbrough (Michael Carrick - TBA), Norwich City (Jack Wilshere - Liam Manning), Sheffield United (Chris Wilder - Ruben Selles), Southampton (Simon Rusk - Will Still), Watford (Tom Cleverley - Paulo Pezzolano) and West Brom (James Morrison - Ryan Mason) have hired over the summer.
Phil Parkinson, who led Wrexham to runners-up spot in League One last term to secure an historic third successive promotion, celebrates four years in the Racecourse hotseat on July 1 but many of his Championship counterparts are just starting out at their clubs.
Bristol City were the latest side to announce a new man at the helm with Struber appointed as head coach.
The 48-year-old Austrian, who had 11 months in charge at Barnsley during the 2019-20 season, has signed a three-year deal and will link up with the players when they return for pre-season training this week.
Struber told the club's official website: 'I am very excited for the job here with great fans and a great team. I'm looking forward to a new task.
'The style of play here fits completely, especially developing young players.
'This is a very interesting group, and I think they did a great job last season and were very successful. Right now is the time to build and do everything we can to take us to the next level.'
Struber, who lost his job at Cologne in May despite guiding the second-tier club to the brink of promotion to the Bundesliga, replaces Liam Manning following his departure for Norwich earlier this month after a sixth-placed finish and a 6-0 aggregate play-off semi-final defeat by Sheffield United.

Premier League's first Chinese footballer now worth £20million after switching careers
Premier League's first Chinese footballer now worth £20million after switching careers Sun Jihai made history as the first Chinese player in the Premier League and he remains a cult hero with Manchester City fans for his displays during his six-year spell with the club Sun Jihai closes down Paul Scholes during a Manchester derby (Image:) A former Manchester City favourite is now worth a whopping £20million after becoming a business mogul. Sun Jihai made history during his six-year City career, becoming the first player from China to play in the Premier League and then the first player from East Asia to score in the English top flight when he netted against Birmingham City in October 2002. That came months after his arrival at the club, who won promotion to the Premier League under Kevin Keegan that year. It wasn't long before Jihai won over supporters with his total commitment on the pitch, clocking in 151 appearances before his exit in summer 2008, coinciding with Sheikh Mansour's takeover. The full-back's last City game was the infamous 8-1 thrashing by Middlesbrough at the end of 2007/08 season. A brief spell at Sheffield United followed before he returned to China in 2009, playing for several clubs and retiring in 2016. He elected not to go down the route of coaching and management. Instead, Jihai became a successful businessman, co-founding HaiQui [HQ] Sports, a sports data company, which set out to provide "datatainment" to fans. The tech company's other projects included a talk show that Jihai appeared on, a sports app called MiaoHi and a match prediction tool called Jihai App. Article continues below Sun Jihai with former Prime Minister David Cameron and Chinese President Xi Jinping during an engagement at the City Football Academy in 2015 (Image: Getty Images ) Jihai has turned his venture into a roaring success, attracting major investments from huge companies, including China Media Capital (CMC), which purchased a 13% stake in City back in 2015. Intrigued by the MiaoHi app – a sports video platform that enables stars and fans to connect – CMC, a company worth £60billion, chose to invest in the business. That investment, along with burgeoning interest in his other projects, has propelled Jihai's net worth to over £20million, according to PeopleWorthWiki. Despite his stratospheric rise in the business world post-retirement, Jihai still remembers his City days with great affection. Reliving an iconic goal against Birmingham in conversation with ex-colleagues Nedum Onuoha and Paul Dickov on City's website last year, he said the memory still triggers "goosebumps." Jihai has fond memories of his time in English football (Image: Manchester City FC ) On his move to City, he said: "Before I came to City, I didn't know the club. I only knew about United. Article continues below "City were in the second division, now the Championship. The agent told me we will go to the Premier League very soon. There were only two months of the season left. I was thinking, 'OK, second division, no problem, I'll join then.' "I had spent a season at Crystal Palace [in 1998/99] and I was always thinking I would like to go back to England. The Premier League, that was the league I wanted to play in."

Bayern Munich hijack Chelsea's transfer move for £51m forward
Chelsea have encountered another hurdle in their bid to sign Jamie Gittens, with Bayern Munich joining the race for the wantaway Borussia Dortmund attacker. Gittens reportedly agreed personal terms with Chelsea before BVB's Club World Cup campaign got underway earlier this month and the 20-year-old has been eager to push through a move to Stamford Bridge. But the Blues have failed with two separate offers for Gittens and Dortmund are refusing to be bullied by the Europa Conference League winners as talks rumble on between the clubs. Determined to get their man having already landed Liam Delap, Dario Essugo and Mamadou Sarr, the west London giants are expected to return with a third offer for Gittens in due course. But according to German publication Kicker, Bayern are preparing to ramp up their pursuit of Gittens as they grow increasingly resigned to their top target, Nico Williams, joining Barcelona. Athletic Bilbao and Spain sensation Williams is said to favour a switch to the Camp Nou which has forced the German champions to explore other possible avenues, leading them to Gittens. It's claimed the Dortmund and England Under-21 winger is now firmly onBayern's 'radar' and initial negotiations have begun between the two Bundesliga rivals with a view to hashing out a possible deal. The report adds that BVB would be willing to part with Gittens should they receive an offer in the region of €60million (£51m) this summer – and a bidding war could break out between Bayern and Chelsea. AC Milan's Rafael Leao, Liverpool's Cody Gakpo, Paris Saint-Germain's Bradley Barcola and Brighton's Kaoru Mitoma also find themselves on Bayern's shortlist of attacking targets Bayern Munich sporting director Max Eberl had been expected to stay with Vincent Kompany's squad for the duration of the Club World Cup in the United States – but the German 'unexpectedly' left the tournament to attend to the club's transfer business two days ago. Gittens' current contract with Dortmund runs through to June 2028. 'We've had one or two conversations with Jamie in the last few days,' BVB sporting director Sebastian Kehl told reporters when asked for an update on Gittens' situation after the club's goalless draw with Fluminense. 'He's professional enough to know that he has to perform. That's part of his nature. 'Jamie will still be very important for us in this tournament. We'll see what happens after that. 'But I don't have a negative opinion of him.' More Trending Before Chelsea's Club World Cup campaign began, Enzo Maresca confirmed the club were in the market for a new winger to fill the void left by Jadon Sancho. 'Jadon is not with us so for sure that is a position [winger] we need to do something,' the Chelsea head coach told explained. 'We have Noni [Madueke], Pedro [Neto] and Ty [George] only as the proper wingers so something for sure is going to happen. 'When the transfer window is open, for sure, we can do something.'
