The 23-year-old defenceman is coming off a solid season, playing in all 82 games, contributing eight goals and 38 assists for a total of 46 points. The output matched his career-best pace at 0.56 points per game. Across his four NHL seasons, Seider has accumulated 29 goals and 151 assists in 328 games, earning a reputation as arguably Germany's finest defenseman ever.
On the world stage, Seider has shined just as brightly. At the 2021 IIHF World Championship, he was awarded Best Defenceman and selected to the Media All‑Star Team, earning these honors after leading all German defenders in ice time and impact.

Continuing that form, he logged a team-high 21 minutes, 31 seconds per game at the 2023 World Championship, assisting on both German goals in the final to help secure Germany's first World Championship silver since 1953.

Joining Seider on the German Olympic team are six NHL-caliber stars: Leon Draisaitl, Tim Stützle, Philip Grubauer, Nico Sturm, and Lukas Reichel. Together, this group forms Germany's strongest hockey lineup to date, blending Seider's elevated two-way game with elite talent up front and stability between the pipes.
In PyeongChang 2018, they emerged as an unexpected force, driven by team unity and spirit. While NHL players ultimately did not participate in Beijing 2022, that 2018 run set the stage for today's confidence and now, with NHL regulars like Seider anchoring the defense, Germany enters Milan–Cortina aiming to exceed expectations once again.

Carolina Hurricanes re-sign Eric Robinson for 4 years after his most productive NHL season

RALEIGH, N.C. — The Carolina Hurricanes have re-signed depth forward Eric Robinson to a four-year contract worth $6.8 million. General manager Eric Tulsky announced the extension Friday. Robinson will count $1.7 million against the salary cap through the 2028-29 NHL season. The Bellmawr, New Jersey, native set career highs with 14 goals, 18 assists and 32 points this past season after joining the Hurricanes as a free agent. Robinson had three points in 15 games on their run to the Eastern Conference final, which ended with a series loss to the eventual Stanley Cup-champion Florida Panthers. 'It's no surprise to us that Eric had his best professional season last year with Carolina,' Tulsky said. 'His size and speed make him an excellent fit for the way we want to play.' Carolina has made the playoffs seven consecutive years since Rod Brind'Amour took over as coach. Robinson's only previous playoff experience in the league came in the 2020 bubble with Columbus. Robinson, 30, has played 413 NHL regular-season and playoff games with the Blue Jackets, Buffalo Sabres and Hurricanes since debuting in 2018.

Arsenal plot raid for Real Madrid frontman after top target chooses Barcelona

Arsenal have been among the clubs who were tracking Nico Williams for the past few weeks. But everything suggests the player could be on his way to Barcelona this summer. This is why Arsenal have shifted their priorities in the market and may instead go for a Real Madrid frontman. Arsenal eye move for Rodrygo According to AS, Arsena's search for a new attacker has led them towards Rodrygo. Advertisement The Brazilian international is one of the few Real Madrid players who are in contention to leave the club after a disappointing season and a poor performance in the opening Club World Cup match. Rodrygo has found himself in a precarious position this summer, where if he fails to convince Xabi Alonso, he might be in for a reduced role in the Real Madrid setup. Arsenal have set their sights on Rodrygo (Photo by) That has put Arsenal on red alert, with Mikel Arteta reportedly keen on bringing in players that can offer versatility in the final third. Rodrygo, to that end, could be a perfect bet. Arsenal expect many hurdles However, Arsenal have accepted the signing Rodrygo from Real Madrid won't be as straightforward. Advertisement The Premier League giants are having difficulties meeting the high salary demand of key attackers. This was the problem in the Nico Williams deal and there is no reason why Rodrygo, too, will not also demand a similar package. The report adds that Arsenal are not necessary the top choice for top players across Europe and even though the Gunners are playing in the Champions League, Rodrygo might want to weigh his options. For now, though, the Brazilian remains focused on the Club World Cup, where he will have an opportunity to impress Xabi Alonso.
