The 23-year-old is a key man for Gers and has grown into his role at the club since arriving from Nordsjælland in January 2024, initially on loan before making it permanent that summer.
The Daily Express is now reporting the Toffees have identified the Ivory Coast international as one of several midfield targets for the summer window.
Everton are looking to spend after a period of having to balance the books and David Moyes will be backed after his resurgence saw them finish 13th in the Premier League.

Central midfield is a key area needing addressed with Abdoulaye Doucoure becoming a free agent and Orel Mangala back at Lyon after his loan.
Versatile Diomande is being looked at as one option.
Rangers wouldn't want to sell but every player has a price and they would hope to make a significant profit in order to allow his departure. They paid £4.3m to sign him permanently a year ago.
He finished the season with six goals and nine assists in all competitions, including a Europa League strike.

New Viktor Gyokeres claim made as fresh Marcus Rashford setback comes to light

Manchester United are expected to be active in the transfer market after a poor season but they are still yet to build on the capture of Wolves forward Matheus Cunha Manchester United are working hard behind the scenes to try and get more signings over the line as they bid to shake up Ruben Amorim 's playing squad ahead of the 2025-26 campaign. The Red Devils endured their worst ever season in the Premier League last year and have already snapped up Matheus Cunha from Wolves in a bid to refresh their frontline, with Brentford's Bryan Mbeumo next in their sights. Plenty more incomings and outgoings are expected at United in the coming weeks and months with things finally starting to heat up in the transfer market. And with Amorim keen to get fresh faces in the door before the club head off on their pre-season tour of the United States next month, the pressure is on United's top brass to deliver. Here, Mirror Football rounds up all the latest transfer news from in and around Old Trafford... New Rashford setback Manchester United are said to have 'offered' Real Madrid the chance to sign Marcus Rashford for £40million this summer - but the Spanish giants are unlikely to take them up on the offer. Rashford is surplus to requirements at Old Trafford and wanted to seal a dream move to Barcelona. But with the Spanish champions advancing in their pursuit of Nico Williams, a move to the Nou Camp would appear to be off the cards. According to DefensaCentral, United have already offered Real the chance to step in and take Rashford to Spain amid their search for a striker. The report notes, though, that Real have already concluded that he is not the right profile for what they are seeking. Gyokeres latest Viktor Gyokeres' agent is reportedly willing to leak voice notes confirming that the club's former sporting director, Hugo Viana, would sell his client for less than his release clause. Arsenal and Manchester United have been heavily linked with the striker, whose preferred destination is believed to be north London. His future is unclear, though, amid claims Arsenal have reached an agreement on personal terms with Benjamin Sesko. Gyokeres seems destined to leave Sporting Lisbon regardless and according to Record, the player's agent, Hasan Çetinkaya, has 'evidence' that Viana agreed Gyokeres could be sold for €60m plus €10m in add-ons (£51m plus £8.5m) in a meeting back in September. Amorim wants signings Ruben Amorim is 'growing impatient' for new signings ahead of the club's pre-season tour of the Untied States with just Matheus Cunha through the door. The Red Devils are working to sign Bryan Mbeumo and also want a new striker with Eintracht Frankfurt's Hugo Ekitike and Viktor Gyokeres on their wishlist. But Amorim wants more progress to be made on the transfer front before his team jet out Stateside to compete in the Premier League Summer Series. Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca refused to be drawn on Nicolas Jackson's red card

Chelsea head coach Enzo Maresca had 'nothing to say' about Nicolas Jackson's red card just four minutes after arriving as a substitute in a second-half collapse which saw them lose 3-1 to Flamengo at the Club World Cup. Jackson, who was sent off against Newcastle in their third-last Premier League match, raked his studs down the shin of Lucas Ayrton and was immediately dismissed – after which Wallace Yan scored the Brazil side's third. When Maresca was asked about Jackson's challenge and his recent indiscipline he told DAZN: 'It was a red card, so nothing to say.' 68' You can't script Jackson subbed on… and sent off 4 minutes later 🟥😱 Watch the @FIFACWC | June 14 – July 13 | Every Game | Free | | #FIFACWC #TakeItToTheWorld #FLACHE — DAZN Football (@DAZNFootball) June 20, 2025 However, Chelsea defender Marc Cucurella admitted it was something the 24-year-old had to improve. 'He is young player, he has a lot of quality, he maybe needs to improve this a little bit. We are here to improve, we are not perfect so it is part of the game,' he said. Maresca put the damaging defeat down to 'trying something new' for next season. The Blues were leading through Pedro Neto's 13th-minute strike but after second-half goals from Bruno Henrique and Danilo in quick succession Jackson saw red. 'It completely changed the game. Unfortunately we conceded two goals in a short moment and then the red card and then I think it is complicated to get back into the game,' the Chelsea boss added. 65' ABSOLUTE SCENES: Danilo scores and @Flamengo_en complete their comeback under just 3 minutes 😱 Watch the @FIFACWC | June 14 – July 13 | Every Game | Free | | #FIFACWC #TakeItToTheWorld #FLACHE — DAZN Football (@DAZNFootball) June 20, 2025 'We tried – but congratulations to them.
