Property Dealer, Security Guard Arrested In Honeymoon Murder Case
Guwahati: A property dealer and a security guard have been arrested in connection with Meghalaya's honeymoon murder -- the murder of Indore transporter Raja Raghuvanshi, allegedly by his wife Sonam. Sources said the Meghalaya police had kept them on their scanner for long. Property dealer Silome James had rented out a flat at Indore's Hirabagh locality to alleged hitman Vishal alias Vicky. Vicky was arrested along with two other hitmen - Akash and Anand - and Sonam Raghuvanshi and her allege boyfriend and mastermind of the crime Raj Kushwaha. Police sources said Sonam Rahuvanshi had stayed in the flat from May 26 to June 8, before she was detained from a eatery on the highway in Gazipur, Uttar Pradesh. The security guard -- Balbir Ahirbar, alias 'Ballu' -- had gone missing since the arrest of Sonam Raghuvanshi and four others, police sources said. He was arrested today from Indore, where he was hiding. The police suspect he holds vital information on the movement of the accused and other developments within the premises. Raja Raghuvanshi was killed on May 23 - the police said Sonam Raghuvanshi had given the signal for the attack. The police said after the murder, Sonam Raghuvanshi had fled via Guwahati. James, who has been interrogated twice before by Meghalaya Special Investigation Team, has been arrested for tampering with evidence. He had allegedly shifted the bag that Sonam had carried from Meghalaya to Indore. Meghalaya SIT had raided the rented flat where Sonam was hiding but found it empty. The police were looking for a black bag Sonam had carried back and was given to Vishal and a phone she was using while in hiding to connect to Raj. They were also looking for Raja's jewellery and Rs 5 lakh in cash they were carrying. Indore police sources said they had come to know that Raj Kushwaha had kept a country-made pistol in that flat, sources added. During two previous questioning sessions, James had pleaded innocence. Sonam Raghuvanshi had told the police that she left the bag in the flat on June 8 and left for Gazipur in a rented cab as soon as they heard Akash and Anand were arrested. Two days later, Silome James went to the rented flat, opened it with the master key and removed the bag and other items, police sources said. Silome James was allegedly seen in one of the many CCTV footage of that area that Indore Crime Branch collected for Meghalaya SIT, sources further added. Sources said when the Meghalaya SIT called James seeking a meeting, he claimed he was traveling to Bhopal and would meet them on Monday. Then he switched off his phone, which raised an alarm.

‘Is This Why Munir Met Trump?' Owaisi Slams Pakistan's ‘Nobel' Agenda After US Strikes Iran
Last Updated: Mocking Pakistan's leadership, Owaisi wondered if Pakistan's General (Army chief Asim Munir) had a lunch with US President Donald Trump for the same reason. AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi on Sunday launched a scathing attack at Pakistan for pitching a Nobel Prize for Donald Trump. Owaisi asked if Islamabad batted for the American president only so the latter could drop bombs on a sovereign nation. He was referring to the US-launched strikes at Iran's Fordow, Isfahan, and Natanz nuclear sites to destroy the country's nuclear program. 'We should ask Pakistanis if for this they want Trump to get a Nobel Peace Prize…", Owaisi said in Hyderabad. The AIMIM leader further mocked Pakistan's military leadership, saying, '…Did Pakistan's General (Army chief Asim Munir) have lunch with the US president for this? They all have been exposed today." Owaisi also took a swipe at Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. Owaisi said, 'This attack by the US has helped Netanyahu, who is a butcher of Palestinians… A genocide is happening in Gaza, and the US is not worried about it." He said, 'This man (Netanyahu), he has butchered Palestinians… He is doing ethnic cleansing of Palestinians in the West Bank and in Gaza. History will remember him as the butcher of Palestinians." Raising concerns over the Indians in the Gulf and Middle East, he stated, 'We must also remember that more than 16 million Indians live in the Gulf and Middle East, and if that area erupts in a war, which unfortunately is very likely, then it will have a grave impact on the Indians living there."

Meghalaya Honeymoon murder: Police detain Indore property dealer for burning evidence
Meghalaya Police's Special Investigation Team (SIT) has arrested two persons including a property dealer from Madhya Pradesh in connection with the murder of Indore businessman Raja Raghuvanshi. The Indore-based property dealer identified as Silome James was detained from Bhonrasa toll-gate in Dewas district of Madhya Pradesh while he was trying to flee to Bhopal on Saturday. He was held for concealing a box belonging to Raghuvanshi's wife and murder accused Sonam, who hid it in a flat in Indore after the murder. "Meghalaya Police SIT arrested one Silome James from Bhonrasa toll-gate in Dewas district of Madhya Pradesh while he was trying to flee to Bhopal around 7.30 pm on Saturday. He is a property dealer and lessee of a building at Heera Bagh Colony in Indore where Sonam had stayed and kept the jewellery and other items she took with her after the incident," East Khasi Hills district SP Vivek Syiem told news agency PTI. Later, a security guard, identified as Balla Ahirwar, was also nabbed by the SIT from his native village in Ashok Nagar district of Madhya Pradesh around 2 AM on Sunday. Ahirwar was posted at the Heera Bagh Colony building. The two will be produced before a court in Indore, seeking a transit remand for being taken to Shillong for further investigation, Syiem added. According to the police, James led the SIT to the place where he disposed of all the items of the box by burning. A member of the SIT said that Sonam's boyfriend Raj Kushwaha owned a firearm and this was kept at the property along with jewellery and a laptop. At the site where James had burnt the box, there were no signs of the pistol, laptop or any of the jewellery belonging to Raja, reported PTI. During the investigation, Vishal alias Vicky Chauhan revealed that he had booked an online auto from his Indore residence to Sonam's hideout in the same city with a black bag containing her clothes, jewellery, ₹ 5 lakh in cash, and a pistol, reported India Today TV. After checking some CCTV footages, the police identified James carrying a black bag from the flat and putting it in a car, reported India Today TV. The flat was rented out to murder co-accused Vishal Chauhan by James. On June 13, James had told reporters that Chauhan approached him on May 30 and rented the flat for ₹ 17,000 per month, signing a formal agreement. Sonam allegedly stayed in the flat for several days on return from Meghalaya, before eventually surrendering to police in Ghazipur district of Uttar Pradesh on June 8.
