Russia attacks Ukraine with 2 Iskander missiles and 90 drones, hits recorded in 12 locations
The Russians have attacked Ukraine with two Iskander-M/KN-23 ballistic missiles and 90 Shahed UAVs and decoy drones of various types since the evening of 29 May. Ukrainian air defence has managed to down 56 drones, although hits have been recorded in 12 locations.

Details: The Russians launched drones from the Russian cities of Millerovo, Oryol, Shatalovo, Kursk and Primorsko-Akhtarsk and the missiles were launched from Russia's Voronezh Oblast.
Kharkiv, Odesa and Donetsk oblasts came under attack.
"Aircraft, anti-aircraft missile units, electronic warfare units, unmanned systems units and mobile fire groups from Ukraine's defence forces were involved in repelling the attack," the Air Force summarised.

Situation at Iran's Bushehr nuclear plant is 'normal', Russian official says
By Gleb Bryanski ST PETERSBURG (Reuters) -Russian nuclear energy chief Alexei Likhachev said on Friday that the situation at Iran's Bushehr nuclear power plant, where hundreds of Russian specialists work, was "normal" and under control. The Israeli military said at one point on Thursday that it had struck the Russian-built Bushehr facility, but later said the comment had been made by mistake. Likhachev, head of the state nuclear energy corporation Rosatom, said on Thursday that any attack on the plant could cause a Chernobyl-style nuclear disaster. Bushehr is Iran's only operating nuclear power plant and uses Russian fuel that Russia then takes back when it is spent to reduce proliferation risk. Asked on Friday about the situation at Bushehr, Likhachev told reporters: "So far the situation is completely under control, everything is normal. The night passed in the usual anxious but manageable atmosphere." He added: "We continue to work in pre-mobilization mode and very much hope that all our signals from yesterday reached the Israeli leadership." The "pre-mobilisation" comment appeared to refer to the possibility of evacuating staff in the event of an emergency. Russian President Vladimir Putin said this week that Russia has up to 600 staff at Bushehr, including 250 permanent workers and others on temporary assignment. He said Israel had issued a promise to Russia over their safety. Likhachev said on Thursday that some of those on assignment had been evacuated but the core staff remained for now. Russia, which has close ties with Iran, has warned strongly against U.S. military intervention on the side of Israel in the air war that began a week ago. Israel has stated that it launched strikes on Iran to prevent it from obtaining a nuclear weapon. Iran, which denies such an intention, has responded with drone and missile attacks on Israeli cities.

Russian attacks kill one in eastern Ukraine, one in the north
(Reuters) -Russian strikes on Saturday on key towns in Donetsk region on the eastern front of the war in Ukraine killed at least one person while another died in a drone attack in the north near the Russian border, officials said. The Russian military said its forces had captured another village in its slow advance westward through Donetsk region. And reports from Kharkiv region in the northeast suggested Russian troops were closing in on the city of Kupiansk. Russian forces struck Sloviansk and Kramatorsk -- two cities that Moscow will target as its forces press on with their westward drive. Both towns have come under frequent attack since the Russian invasion of its neighbour in February 2022. Donetsk region Governor Vadym Filashkin said one person died and three were injured in Sloviansk, with pictures posted online showing buildings reduced to rubble. He said four multi-storey dwellings and 32 private homes had suffered damage. In Kramatorsk, pictures posted by the city council showed heavy damage to part of an apartment building. Officials said at least one person was trapped under rubble and a number of other residents were injured. A mass drone attack on the town of Nizhyn near the Russian border killed one person and damaged local infrastructure. The Russian Defence Ministry said its forces had seized the village of Zaporizhzhia, southwest of Pokrovsk, where Ukrainian forces have been holding back Russian attacks for months. Zaporizhzhia village is distinct from the Ukrainian city of Zaporizhzhia, the regional centre and large industrial hub located some 160 km (90 miles) to the southeast. The General Staff of Ukraine's armed forces on Friday listed the village as one of several where Kyiv's forces had repelled Russian attacks. On Friday, the Russian Defence Ministry said it had captured the village of Moskovka, just outside the city of Kupiansk, also the target of repeated Russian attacks in recent months. Both Russian and Ukrainian military bloggers have reported an upswing in fighting around Kupiansk this past week. The town was first occupied by Russian forces in the first weeks of the 2022 invasion, but recaptured by Ukrainian troops later in the year in a lightning counter-offensive.

Putin says 'the whole of Ukraine is ours'
Russian President Vladimir Putin suggested during an economic forum that the "whole of Ukraine" belongs to his country, even though Russia only controls about a fifth of Ukrainian territory. He made the comments on June 20 at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, where he also indicated that he wouldn't "rule out" taking the northern Sumy region, which Russian troops have been rapidly advancing into in recent weeks. The regional capital of 250,000 people is located just over a dozen miles from the Russian border.
