A New York favorite was just ranked one of the best burger chains in the U.S.

Time Out22-05-2025

New Yorkers know that a grilled patty and side of fries make easy—yet deliciously umami-packed—meals on the go. Top-notch burgers are in such high demand that not one but two new joints just opened in downtown Manhattan: newcomer NADC only serves Wagyu, while Westchester import Deux Luxe flips a French Onion version. But which restaurants serve the best burgers in NYC? According to a new ranking by Yelp, 25 chains top the charts across the country, including a longtime New York favorite.
To hype "International Burger Day" on May 28, the restaurant review platform announced the most popular burgers in America, including both beloved brands and emerging stars. Sitting pretty at No. 5 nationally, and (unsurprisingly) No. 1 in the Northeast, is Shake Shack. Despite falling behind longtime nemesis In-N-Out, which leads the pack in America overall, Shake Shack is the first-choice burger in more states than any other brand, claiming the top spot in 21 states as well as Washington, D.C.
Danny Meyer 's first foray began as a humble hot dog cart in Madison Square Park before blossoming into an international sensation thanks to fresh ingredients, chef-driven recipes (we ranked every menu item!) and forward-thinking flair. Today, the O.G. Shack location boasts more than 5,800 reviews on Yelp, while its Theatre District locale earned a place on the site's Top 100 Burgers in America.
So what's everyone ordering? The ShackBurger doused in secret "Shack Sauce" stays in the spotlight, but crispy crinkle-cut fries and creamy frozen custards—in rotating seasonal flavors —and even the portobello ''Shroom Burger' keep guests coming back for more. Maybe the new fried pickles will help them blow away more competition next year?
We're still not sure how In-N-Out edged us out, though it could be the consistent (if not blasé) menu since 1948 and nostalgic drive-thru vibes. To qualify for the ranking, burger brands needed more than 100 locations that operate in multiple states and are primarily categorized under 'burgers' on Yelp. So tell us: What's your go-to burger order?

Darden expects annual same-store sales to grow in the range of 2% to 3.5%, midpoint of which is above analysts' estimates of 2.64%, as per data compiled by LSEG. Initiatives such as home deliveries with the help of Uber Direct and "buy one, take one" offerings at Olive Garden have further helped the restaurant chain operator. Its consolidated same-store sales were up 4.6% in the quarter compared to a year ago, with Olive Garden sales rising 6.9%. The company posted fourth-quarter sales of $3.27 billion, edging past estimates of $3.26 billion. It logged adjusted profit of $2.98 per share for the quarter ended May 25, above estimates of $2.97 per share, owing to moderate price hikes and lower input costs. However, the company forecast annual earnings per share between $10.50 and $10.70, compared with estimates of $10.75 per share.

Amazon, Currys and Argos rival Ninja's June summer sale offers

Ninja has launched a summer sale on its website with discounts on a range of cooking gadgets, including air fryers and electric BBQs Ninja has kicked off a summer sale this June on its website, slashing prices on a variety of cooking gadgets, including air fryers and electric BBQs. Bargain hunters can also find similar deals on some of the same devices at Amazon, Currys and Argos, all of which offer competitive prices. For example, the Foodi MAX Dual Zone Air Fryer, usually priced at £269.99, is currently discounted to £199.99 at Ninja, with Currys matching this sale price. However, it's not currently on offer at Amazon. The Foodi MAX Dual Zone Air Fryer is arguably one of Ninja's most sought-after air fryers, with thousands of customer reviews on the brand's site. One satisfied customer gave it a five-star rating, praising it as 'exceptionally good for all cooking'. Another user gave it a two-star review, explaining that the non-stick coating on their air fryer began to 'flake off' after just 16 days. For a more affordable family-size air fryer, Debenhams has the Alivio 9-litre air fryer for £54, featuring two baskets and eight cooking functions. Another lesser-known Ninja air fryer is the CRISPi 4-in-1 Portable Glass Air Fryer, with an RRP of £174.99. This compact device offers the power of a full-sized model but takes up less space, reports the Express. It's currently on sale at both Amazon and Ninja, but Amazon trumps the brand's own sale, offering it for £124. Ninja has it on sale for £149.99. Consumers who have never bought anything from Ninja can find reviews of the brand's overall performance and quality on Trustpilot. A reviewer who bought an air fryer commented: 'I always wondered what all the fuss was about Ninja and now I know! Huge capacity and easy to use, I love it.' However, another reviewer was not happy with the delivery service, commenting: 'Was meant to be next day delivery. I had to pick it up from the store. Difficulty knowing what was happening with Yodel.' Shoppers can also snag a deal on the original Ninja Creami, typically £199.99, now available for £169 at both Currys and Ninja, with Argos offering an even better price of £165. Lakeland is currently having a sale on its 1.8-litre ice cream maker, usually £50, it is now down to £40. This machine not only churns ice cream but also makes sorbets and frozen yoghurt. Completing the roundup of Ninja's sale is the Woodfire Electric barbecue Grill and Smoker, marked down from its usual price of £299.99 to £229.99 at Amazon and Ninja. The appliance, which doubles as an outdoor electric barbecue grill, smoker, and air fryer featuring seven cooking functions, proudly stands as the UK's top-selling Electric BBQ†. Importantly, it operates without the need for charcoal, gas, or flames.
