Who is Love Island's Emily? A reminder of her age, background and more as she and Toni come to blows
If you're anything like us, you've been sitting front and centre for all things Love Island this summer. The reality show has hit our screens once again, pulling us into another dimension of fake tan, feuds and frantic recouplings, and we can't believe we went a whole year without it! This season has seen plenty of romantic drama, but a fair share of Islander fallings out to boot. Top of mind? The spat which, seemingly, appeared from nowhere, between Toni Laites and bombshell Emily Moran. As we puzzle over what happened, here's a lil reminder as to who Emily is and what went down... She is 24 years old. Emily appears to have been born on 4 May, 2001, making her a Taurus. This is an earth sign which is known to be reliable, sensible, sensual, and have a taste for the finer things. She is an insurance development executive. Emily is Welsh and hails from Aberdare, which also happens to be the home of Love Island 2024's Nicole Samuel. Small world, huh? Before Love Island, Emily was living in Sydney, Australia. Shortly after Emily went on the villa, her TikTok presence was boosted by a video of her friend's dad reacting in live time to her appearing in the villa as a bombshell. His flabbergasted response is one for the ages. Speaking to producers, Emily had a pretty clear idea of her type, saying: "Someone with emotional intelligence for one. Someone who is really confident but not cocky. They can hold a room, communicate… oh, and biceps!" She's also get a clear picture on this one, so stay away if you don't mind your Ps and Qs. "Bad manners, being rude, not saying please and thank you. I'd rather someone be overly polite than not say it at all," she said. Want to learn more about Emily? Give her a follow on IG at the handle @emilyxmorann. Expect beach pics and a blowout that will give you unimaginable hair envy. Emily does indeed have TikTok, and can be found over on the clock app at @emillymorann. Her posts have major clean girl energy and also include dumps from her life in Australia. Conor Phillips. Emily entered the villa as a bombshell alongside Yasmin and Malisha towards the end of the first week. The trio were announced on 13 June and appeared during boys' night, when the male Islanders were discussing their early connections in the villa. Emily opted to take Conor, who was coupled up with Toni, for a date. Conor ended things with Toni to pursue his connection with Emily and Emily and Conor made it offish at the next recoupling. However, it's not been all smooth sailing for Emily. Toni appeared to take a dislike to her in an episode aired on 20 June, sarcastically calling her "Little Miss Sunshine" and speaking poorly of her with Shakira. Meg later pulled Emily to the side to tell her what Toni had been saying about her. Things escalated after Emily pulled Toni for a chat to see if she would want to open up about what she had been saying about her behind her back. Toni said "I've been very bothered by you," and went onto explain she was annoyed about Emily's reaction to the recoupling in which Toni and Malisha were left single. In response, Emily was confused, and the discussion got more heated. Toni told Emily to, "get the f**k out of my face" and Emily said of Toni to the wider group, "she's f**king nuts." Emily also asked if the situation had to do with Toni's prior involvement with Conor, who she Emily is currently in a couple with, but Toni denied this. We'll see how this one develops as the season progresses...

Wrexham sign Plymouth Argyle striker Ryan Hardie on three-year contract
Plymouth Argyle striker Ryan Hardie has become the first summer signing of ambitious newly-promoted Championship club Wrexham for an undisclosed fee. Hardie had 12 months remaining on his contract at Argyle and Plymouth Live understands that he was offered a new improved one by the Pilgrims but Wrexham, who are owned by Hollywood stars Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney, came up with a deal which was worth more than that. Advertisement Sky Sports News reporter Anthony Joseph posted on X (Twitter) tonight that it was understood Wrexham had paid in the region of £700,000 for Hardie, whose release clause in his contract was reduced after Argyle's relegation from the Championship. READ MORE: Gareth Bale linked to Plymouth Argyle takeover bid by US-based group READ MORE: Plymouth Argyle confirm Austria training camp as part of pre-season Wrexham, who have achieved worldwide fame due to a Disney+ behind-the-scenes streaming series on them, have a pre-season tour to Australia and New Zealand next month before beginning their league campaign at the start of August. Advertisement Hardie, who has signed a three-year contract with the Wrexham, told the Welsh club's official website: "I'm delighted to get the move done, I'm really happy to get it done so early and I cannot wait to get going. "To get a full pre-season will be a massive benefit, to get integrated into the squad and learn the way the manager plays and get to know everyone will be important. "The last couple of seasons, it's been good getting experience in the EFL Championship and it's experience I can lean on now. I've enjoyed playing there, and I've managed to score a few goals, so hopefully that can continue this season. 'I love how family-oriented the club is, the community is all together and it really is a one-club city. Everything is to do with the football, and I'm really excited to be a part of that – I'll give everything I've got for the badge.' Advertisement The move to Wrexham means Hardie can continue to play in the Championship following Argyle's relegation to League One and given the high profile of the north Wales club it could boost his chances of a first Scotland call-up. Hardie leaves Argyle in joint 12th position in the club's all-time scoring list with 74 goals from a total of 174 starts and 74 substitute appearances since first joining from Blackpool in January 2020. That was the first of two loan stints for the former Glasgow Rangers striker before he completed a permanent transfer to the Pilgrims early in 2021. Hardie was Argyle's top scorer last season with 12 goals in all competitions, one more than Mustapha Bundu, who is out of contract at the end of this month and has rejected the offer of a new deal. Advertisement So it is now a priority for Argyle and their new head coach Tom Cleverley to add attacking firepower to their squad with the departures of Hardie and Bundu. Hardie will be reunited at Wrexham, who finished as League One runners-up to Birmingham City last term, with two other members of the Pilgrims' 2022/23 League One title winning squad in goalkeeper Callum Burton and defender Dan Scarr.
