YouTuber and reality show winner Elvish Yadav has said that all those who speak Haryanvi are not illiterate. Opposing the widespread stereotypes about the people who speak Haryanvi language , Elvish Yadav said the language is often unfairly associated with illiteracy and arrogance . In an interview with IANS , the 28-year-old content creator also expressed that his manner of speaking, often perceived as arrogant, is native to the region.Yadav compared linguistic biases, pointing out that just as Tamil Nadu has its own language, so does Haryana, emphasizing that misunderstanding a dialect should not equate to questioning someone's education or intent. 'A stereotype has been created that anyone who speaks Haryanvi, no matter how educated that person is, is considered illiterate. But that's just our language.'Dismissing allegations that his tone reflects arrogance, he spoke of the pain he feels of being 'a very misunderstood person.'Elvish, who was born as Siddharth Yadav and holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from Delhi University's Hansraj College, said that speakers of Haryanvi are frequently misjudged. 'Most people think that languages like ours, like Haryanvi, which is 'khadi' (upright) speech—sound like the language of illiterate people,' he told IANS. 'They think we don't know how to speak properly. But that's not true.'The social media personality , who gained national recognition after winning 'Bigg Boss OTT 2' and participating in 'MTV Roadies Double Cross,' revealed he was a hardworking student and academic topper. 'I used to study really hard. I cleared all my exams. I graduated from a good college, Hansraj College,' he said.Responding to public perception that he comes across as arrogant, Yadav said, 'People assume I have a big ego. Maybe I have a little, but not as much as people think.'He also acknowledged feeling misunderstood, a sentiment he claimed has become a recurring theme across online platforms. 'Even meme pages have started saying that I'm a very misunderstood person. But I'm a good person. I swear on my mother,' he added.Addressing past controversies, including viral altercations with fellow contestant Prince Narula on a reality show, Yadav denied having anger issues off-camera. While there's no dearth of engaging or family-oriented films, the actress believes rising ticket prices and the abundance of at-home content are major factors keeping audiences away. Speaking to IANS, Sinha emphasized that it's not the films that are missing-it's the accessibility of the theatrical experience that has shifted. The 'Akira' actress clarified that it's not a lack of family-friendly films, but a combination of other factors that's keeping regular audiences away. She pointed out that while there's no shortage of stories or family-centric films being made, the overall theatre experience has become too expensive for the average family. "I don't think family stories are missing at all. I feel families are not going-that's a different story. There is no lack of films being made, and there is no lack of family films being made. So, I think there are a lot of factors that affect why people are not going to theatres as much. But they are there-the stories are there, the films are there." Weighing in on the matter, filmmaker Siddharth P Malhotra—who helmed Junaid Khan's debut film Maharaj and directed Rani Mukerji's comeback film Hichki—stated that such requests are not new and have existed in the industry for years. 'We finished Hichki, the whole film, in 28 eight-hour shifts," Malhotra told IANS. 'Whether it was Rani (Mukerji), the kids, the cameramen or the spot boy, everyone finished in that time." Hichki, produced by Yash Raj Films, marked Rani Mukerji's return to the screen after the birth of her daughter Adira in December 2015. Recalling that emotional period, Rani had said, 'For 14 months, I have been there in front of her face. So I kept asking myself, 'Is it going to be worth it?'" She even confessed to 'howling in the car" on her first day back on set. Malhotra explained that every project comes with its own expectations and timelines, but the concept of eight-hour workdays isn't unprecedented. 'It's been happening for years. When I'd shot with Kajol in 2010, she used to do eight-hour shifts. She made it very clear she'd either come from 10 am to 6 pm, or 7 am to 2 pm, or for an eight-hour shift at night. Rani also did the same. Deepika isn't demanding anything new." Kajol recently supported the same practice in an interview with PTI, stating, 'I didn't work for 20 or 30 hours. I was always very clear that we would work a certain amount only, and my mom (veteran actor Tanuja) also backed me up big time on it." Addressing the controversy around Deepika's exit, Malhotra added, 'If I need an actor and am confident I can finish the film within those working hours, I'd work with them even for six hours a day. This isn't actor-specific. People are just gaining publicity in the name of Deepika Padukone. She's asking for family time, what wrong is she demanding?" He also remarked that if Vanga required longer hours from his female lead, the director could always adjust the schedule accordingly or cast someone else. 'If the director can't accommodate the timeline, they can simply choose to work with another actor," he said. Following Deepika's reported exit, director Sandeep Reddy Vanga has signed Animal breakout star Triptii Dimri as the lead opposite Prabhas in Spirit.
