Manchester City clobbered UAE side Al Ain at the Club World Cup on Sunday, scoring three goals in each half to seal passage to the knockout rounds via a 6-0 win.

On Gundogan: "Gundo's an exceptional player! Exceptional in all senses. He's really, really good and made a fantastic goal, he reads what we have to do every game. I'm really pleased."
On Echeverri: "[Exiting at halftime] was a pity. It was a problem at half-time. ... I want to tell you a secret. Last season, when he arrived, after every training session he practiced free kicks alone. So work pays off. If he scored a goal, it's because he practiced. When other guys don't practice, they don't score."

Football transfer rumours: Emiliano Martínez eager to join Manchester United?
The tears seemed very real from Emiliano Martínez after a win over Tottenham last month because his Aston Villa future is not certain. Despite being the world's best goalkeeper, according to some golden trinket, Villa might need to sell him to please the calculator botherers. Manchester United, where Martínez was gloriously sent off on the final day of the season, are eager to find a goalkeeper who does not make fortnightly errors. After missing out on Florian Wirtz and potentially Nico Williams, Bayern Munich are having to look elsewhere for a new attacking threat. One potential option is Arsenal's Gabriel Martinelli.
