Pep Guardiola reaction — Man City boss praises Ait-Nouri, Echeverri, Gundogan
Manchester City clobbered UAE side Al Ain at the Club World Cup on Sunday, scoring three goals in each half to seal passage to the knockout rounds via a 6-0 win.
RECAP — Man City 6-0 Al Ain
City will try to beat Juventus on Thursday to win Group G, but Guardiola's started 22 different players over two games including several new faces and he'll consider this tournament a success outside of the additional minutes it's asked of his squad.

Ilkay Gundogan scored twice in the win, while Claudio Echeverri spun home a wonderful free kick and Rayan Ait-Nouri was terrific at left back.
No, the opposition was not Premier League level. Yes, City looked very sharp.
Pep Guardiola reaction on Ait-Nouri, Echeverri, Gundogan
Here's Pep on ex-Wolves man Ait-Nouri, via Manchester Evening News: "We knew it. A talent, within the final third a lot of talent. Defensively, he can play outside, he can play inside, and in the final third he's so clever. Really good."
On Gundogan: "Gundo's an exceptional player! Exceptional in all senses. He's really, really good and made a fantastic goal, he reads what we have to do every game. I'm really pleased."
On Echeverri: "[Exiting at halftime] was a pity. It was a problem at half-time. ... I want to tell you a secret. Last season, when he arrived, after every training session he practiced free kicks alone. So work pays off. If he scored a goal, it's because he practiced. When other guys don't practice, they don't score."

How to watch Seattle Sounders vs Paris Saint-Germain: TV channel and live stream for Club World Cup today
Paris Saint-Germain will close out their Club World Cup group stage campaign today, meeting the Seattle Sounders at Lumen Field. The Parisiens have had mixed fortunes in the United States, producing a formidable 4-0 win over ten-man Atletico Madrid in their opener before falling to a frustrated 1-0 loss to Botafogo. Advertisement Igor Jesus, reportedly set to join Nottingham Forest this summer, was the goalscorer in the Botafogo defeat. Luis Enrique, though, highlighted the efforts of their back-line as a defining factor in the result. 'Botafogo was the team that defended us best all season, obviously in our League and in the Champions League,' he said. 'They made a low block from the start and were very efficient, united. We didn't generate as many chances as usual.' The champions of Europe could not muster a response to his first-half strike, failing to convert any of their 16 shots, 10 corners, and 75% possession. Despite enjoying home pitch advantage for much of the competition, Seattle sit bottom of Group B with zero points. They are not yet eliminated, though, thanks to the middling fortunes of Atletico and PSG, and could still qualify with a win. Advertisement Goal difference is not an issue, either, as any win would see them surpass Atletico's tally of -2. How to watch Seattle Sounders vs PSG Live stream: Viewers can watch the action live online via the DAZN website. Kick-off is at 8pm this evening. DAZN is the global broadcaster of the new-look Club World Cup. No subscription is required to watch the game, with the entire tournament available to their 'Freemium' members, which means you only need to sign up for a free DAZN account. Football transfer rumours: Emiliano Martínez eager to join Manchester United?
The tears seemed very real from Emiliano Martínez after a win over Tottenham last month because his Aston Villa future is not certain. Despite being the world's best goalkeeper, according to some golden trinket, Villa might need to sell him to please the calculator botherers. Manchester United, where Martínez was gloriously sent off on the final day of the season, are eager to find a goalkeeper who does not make fortnightly errors. Even though United are pretty terrible and Villa set for another European adventure, Martínez is actually quite tempted by a move to Old Trafford. Another man on the Ruben Amorim radar is Fiorentina striker Moise Kean who has a £44.5m release clause. After missing out on Florian Wirtz and potentially Nico Williams, Bayern Munich are having to look elsewhere for a new attacking threat. One potential option is Arsenal's Gabriel Martinelli. The Gunners are potentially looking to clear the decks in an attempt to stop finishing second. If the Bundesliga champions are to lure the Brazilian away from North London, it will cost them more than £50m. Alternatively, Bayern could make a move for Chelsea target Jamie Gittens of Borussia Dortmund. Advertisement Related: Men's transfer window summer 2025: all deals from Europe's top five leagues If Martinelli heads off to Munich, then Mikel Arteta will need a shiny new winger to take his place. Rodrygo is one such target and would be a straight samba swap for his international teammate. He does not seem completely happy at Real Madrid and that might give Arsenal a bargaining chip but the Spanish side want more than £70m to see the 24-year-old which is a spicy albondiga by anyone's standard. Cost is becoming a concern for Arsenal and they are contemplating backing out of the chase for Benjamin Sesko. The prospect of spending £70m for the RB Leipzig striker and his astronomical wage demands might be a little too much for the Gunners' coffers. Harvey Elliott helped England Under-21s reach the European Championship semi-finals on Saturday night. He scored the second in a fine win over Spain but despite his international performances, Elliott might need to depart Liverpool in order to find regular football. Brighton could offer him a route out of Anfield but it would cost the Seagulls around £40m to get their man. Advertisement Galatasaray are in need of a new goalkeeper after the legendary Fernando Muslera called time on Istanbul after 14 years. The natural response to such news is clearly to seek out Southampton's Aaron Ramsdale, who might find the fiery nature of Turkish football more alluring than the Championship. The Englishman has a £20m release clause and the Saints would would not be eager to let him go much cheaper, so a loan might need to be considered. Everton are closing in on the signing of Fulham right-back Kenny Tete. The Frenchman was offered a new three-year deal at Craven Cottage but fancies a move to Merseyside where he will stay until 2028.

Garnacho adds fuel to transfer talk with Villa shirt
Man United's Garnacho Sparks Speculation with Aston Villa Shirt Post Public message or private rebellion? Manchester United winger Alejandro Garnacho has ignited fresh speculation over his Old Trafford future after sharing a photo of himself wearing an Aston Villa shirt emblazoned with Marcus Rashford's name and number. The image, posted to his social media on Sunday night, showed the 20-year-old in Villa's claret and blue home strip with 'Rashford 9' proudly displayed on the back. Advertisement Rashford, who left United on loan in January after being frozen out by manager Ruben Amorim, replied to the post with a brief but telling comment: 'My brother', accompanied by a heart emoji. It was a public show of solidarity between two players seemingly caught in the same storm. Garnacho: Instagram Fractured relationships and uncertain futures While reports say Garnacho insists the post was simply a gesture of support for his team-mate, the timing and symbolism have added to the uncertainty surrounding his own future at Man United. The winger's relationship with Amorim has grown increasingly strained since the Europa League final defeat to Tottenham, where he was benched for the biggest match of the season. Advertisement 'Up until the final I played every round helping the team, and today I play 20 minutes, I don't know,' Garnacho said after the game. 'The final will influence [my decision] but the whole season, the situation of the club. I'm going to try to enjoy the summer and see what happens afterwards.' That candid admission only intensified the sense of detachment between player and manager. Amorim reportedly told Garnacho in May he was free to find a new club this summer — a stark shift for a player once seen as central to United's long-term plans. Garnacho and Rashford: Misfits with shared direction There is a sense that Garnacho and Rashford are now walking similar paths. Both have been cast aside by Amorim, both retain immense talent, and both appear to be angling for a new chapter elsewhere. The Instagram post, far from a random summer snap, feels like a coded message — mutual recognition from two players who have slipped through the cracks at Man United. Market impact and missed opportunities Garnacho's online statement may have consequences beyond sentiment. With Amorim unlikely to reintegrate him into the first-team setup — particularly ahead of the club's pre-season tour of the United States — potential suitors could sense leverage in transfer negotiations. How much will United realistically command for a player who seems so publicly out of step with the manager's plans? Advertisement Chelsea have been monitoring Garnacho, although their pursuit of Borussia Dortmund's Jamie Gittens could complicate matters. A return to Atlético Madrid, his former club, remains a possibility, and other European clubs are expected to enter the frame. What once looked like a rising star in United's next generation may now become a symbol of what happens when trust between player and coach quietly unravels. The shirt, the name, the number — they spoke louder than any quote.
