Shabir Ahluwalia's fitness mantra for Ufff… Yeh Love Hai Mushkil, says ‘Cycling from home to set is my ritual to switch into character mode'

While many actors choose luxury cars to commute to their film or television sets, Shabir Ahluwalia prefers a much more grounded and invigorating mode of travel. The actor, who plays the passionate and intense Yug Sinha in Ufff… Yeh Love Hai Mushkil, has made it a personal routine to cycle from home to set twice a week.
What began as a fitness choice has now evolved into a powerful ritual that prepares both his mind and body for the demands of his role.
'Cycling from home to set is more than just a way to get here—it's my ritual to switch into character mode,' Shabir explained. 'It helps me clear my mind, focus my energy, and get physically ready for the long, demanding shoot ahead. It's a beautiful transition from real life into reel life.'
For Shabir, this daily ride does far more than just cut through traffic. 'Riding the bike keeps me fit, boosts my stamina, and saves me time in Mumbai traffic, which is a win-win. But more than that, it centres me. Honestly, those moments on the saddle give me a sense of calm and control before diving into the love, drama, and chaos of the day's scenes.'
He also revealed how the crew now associates his cycling with positivity.

'The crew jokes that when they hear the sound of my bicycle approaching, they know it's going to be a good day on set. While everyone is still settling in with their morning coffee, I've already done my cardio,' he laughed.
The actor shared how this practice has also brought him closer to his character. 'Yug is emotionally layered, intense, and often conflicted. I think cycling helps me align with his energy. It's therapeutic and helps me channel that intensity naturally.'
Fans haven't missed his unique habit either. 'Sometimes I get stopped by fans mid-ride. They find it surprising, but I love how something so simple can inspire people to stay active,' Shabir smiled.
He concluded, 'In today's fast-paced world, we all need something that grounds us. For me, it's cycling. It's not just fitness—it's focus, freedom, and my time to reflect before stepping into someone else's shoes.'

Exclusive - Bhabiji Ghar Par Hain actress Shubhangi Atre: The industry will continue to change, it's a bit scary

Actress Shubhangi Atre, who is known for her show Bhabiji Ghar Par Hain, says that the industry has grown by leaps and bounds, and the modes of entertainment are going to continue to evolve. She adds that this can get a little overwhelming at times. 'The industry has already changed a lot, especially after COVID. The work culture and budgeting have changed. And in the next five years, with artificial intelligence growing, I feel things will change even more. It's a bit scary honestly. But I still believe that content is king. If you create good content, it will always work. Today people are very stressed in life, and entertainment gives them a little break from that. Music and entertainment offer relief, so we should focus on creating good content,' she says. Ask her what changes she wants to see, and she says, 'The content on TV is still a bit regressive, and that bothers me. We can definitely make more progressive shows. Second, I feel TV actors don't get the respect they deserve. People often don't take TV actors seriously. There's a perception that TV actors are overexposed or not as good. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Memperdagangkan CFD Emas dengan salah satu spread terendah? The mindset towards TV actors needs to change.' Meanwhile, she says that the cut-throat nature of the industry is one thing that will not change. 'Competition is very real. Sometimes people don't want to do certain roles, or they leave projects. That's their personal choice, and I respect that. But if someone is more committed, more disciplined, or more eager to work, then yes, they will get opportunities. That's what we call survival of the fittest. I just believe don't snatch work from someone, but if they don't want to do it and you can, there's no harm. Life goes on. Nothing is irreplaceable. And stardom is very temporary. We are just like passing faces on a screen. What truly matters is how well we perform and how much people connect with us,' she says. International Yoga Day observed in Japan's Toyota City

Bhubaneswar: As India celebrated the International Day of Yoga on Saturday, over 6,000 km away, many Indians and Japanese came together in Japan's Toyota for a three-hour event at the Takahashi Community Centre, featuring an hour of yoga, 25 minutes of pranayama and guided meditation, and 10 minutes of stretching accompanied by music. "We started with the standard yoga protocol designed by the Indian govt, which all teachers are expected to follow. The aim is to make yoga accessible to everyone," said Nivedita Sahu, a yoga instructor. After the yoga session, Japanese artistes performed an Indian semi-classical dance. Their graceful movements to the chant 'Asato Ma Sad Gamaya' and a soulful Rabindranath Tagore song showed their respect for and understanding of Indian culture. Shomon Akita, a Buddhist monk from Guzeiin Temple in Toyota, explained the essence of the Patanjali Yoga Sutra. He also shared insights on the shloka 'Sarve Bhavantu Sukhinah', emphasising universal well-being and compassion. A thoughtful and informative presentation by Subha Kokuba Chakraborty highlighted the cultural similarities between India and Japan, exploring shared values such as discipline, inner peace and reverence for tradition. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Eat 1 Teaspoon Every Night, See What Happens A Week Later [Video] getfittoday Undo She also led the energetic 'stretch with music' session. There was also a sari-draping session. The event concluded with the singing of India's national anthem. A separate yoga session was also organised by the Indian embassy in Tokyo. The Indian High Commission in Wellington organised 30 yoga-related events across New Zealand, Samoa, Vanuatu and the Cook Islands. Among them a session was held in the New Zealand Parliament (Beehive) in Wellington on June 16 in collaboration with the United Nations Association of New Zealand (UNANZ) and Art of Living. Another programme was organised on HCI premises on June 21 in collaboration with Heartfulness NZ, Art of Living, and Hindu Swayam Sevak Sangh. "I went for both the programmes because I like to attend celebrations of Indian culture," said Animesh Panda, secretary of New Zealand Odia Society.
