Giorgia Meloni rolls eyes at France's Macron during G7 Summit; sends internet into a frenzy
Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni was caught on camera rolling her eyes after French President Emmanuel Macron whispered something to her during the G7 Summit in Canada on June 17, 2025. And it's safe to say the reaction sent the internet into a meltdown.
With the world's most powerful economies gathered in Alberta, Canada, for the 51st Group of Seven Summit to discuss global issues — given the impact of ongoing conflicts on economy, trade and security — Ms. Meloni's eye roll was definitely seen as worthy of sending the internet into a meltdown.

As the Summit got underway, Ms. Meloni was seated next to Mr. Macron, while U.S. President Donald Trump spoke during the meeting where issues such as trade, security, technology were being discussed.

She's torn Macron apart in previous speeches so this isn't a shock.

Mr. Macron can be seen in the video leaning towards Ms. Meloni, whispering while covering his mouth. Ms. Meloni responded with a thumbs-up. When Ms. Macron leaned in a second time Ms. Meloni could be seen covering her face as she listened. But alas, the Italian Prime Minister could not hide her expression when she rolled her eyes.
It remains unclear what was said during the exchange and neither leaders have commented on it.
While social media users remain divided on whether Ms. Meloni's reaction was for Mr. Macron, given their frequent diplomatic feud, or for Mr. Trump, who was speaking when the private exchange happened, the internet certainly find the moment epic.
The fourth round of Trump's humiliation came from Italy's Meloni and France's Macron who began having a whispered conversation as soon as Trump sat down; Trump felt humiliated thinking they were talking about him and was visibly trying not to look upset. #G7pic.twitter.com/3CWWDSMXyM — Anonymous (@YourAnonCentral) June 17, 2025
Meanwhile, six of the G7 leaders discussed Russia's war in Ukraine and the Israel-Iran conflict but failed to reach major agreements on those after Mr. Trump's early exit. The remaining leaders — Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney and his counterparts from the U.K., France, Germany, Italy, and Japan — agreed to jointly attempt to combat what they called non-market policies that could jeopardise global access to critical minerals.
They also pledged to limit the downsides of artificial intelligence on jobs and the environment, while still embracing the potential of the 'technological revolution.' However, while the summit was supposed to show a joint consensus on issues, no joint statement on the Ukraine conflict was released.

Not Iran, Russia to help THIS Muslim nation in its nuclear ambitions; the country is..., not Pakistan
Russia will help build a nuclear power plant in Kazakhstan. (File) Kazakhstan nuclear power plant: Earlier this month, Israel triggered the Israel-Iran war when it launched deadly airstrikes on Iranian cities on the pretext of Tehran being close to developing a nuclear weapon. However, there is another little-known Muslim country which has nuclear ambitions of its own, and Russia has announced open support for its nuclear endeavor. Kazakhstan to build nuclear power plant with Russia's help The country in question is Kazakhstan, a former constituent of the erstwhile Soviet Union, who is reportedly working on setting up a nuclear power plant in collaboration with Russia's state-owned nuclear energy giant Rosatom, according to officials of the Central Asian Countries Authority. Kazakhstan, one of the most resource-rich countries in Central Asia, is the world top producer of uranium, and now looks to utilize its vast uranium resources to develop its own civilian nuclear program with Russia's help. The country supplies supplying 43 percent of the world's uranium consumption, but does not have enough electricity production to meet its domestic needs. As per details, the Kazakhstan nuclear power plant was approved in 2024, and will be built in a village near Ulken near Lake Balkhash, the country's second largest lake. China and France also made bids Notably, China, France and South Korea had also tried secure the deal for the Kazakhstan nuclear power plant, but the bid was ultimately won by Russia. According to media reports, China's National Nuclear Corporation, French EDF and South Korean Hydro and Nuclear Power Company had placed bids, but Rosatom secured the deal. However, Kazakhstan officials said that these three companies will also be included in a consortium led by Rosatom. Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev said the country aims to maintain good relations with both Russia and China, adding that Rosatom has offered to finance the entire project. Tokayev's statement comes at a time when Chinese President Xi Jinping is set to visit Kazakhstan for the upcoming China-Central Asia Summit. Interestingly, Kazakhstan had several nuclear power plants and hosted Soviet nuclear weapons, as well as being a nuclear testing site, when it was part of the Soviet Union. However, after the dissolution of the USSR in 1991, Kazakhstan, along with other former Soviet states like Belarus and Ukraine, gave up its nuclear weapons and closed the power plants.

Replace India's national flag with a saffron flag: Veteran BJP leader N Sivarajan
PALAKKAD: Inviting widespread outrage, likely to escalate political debate in days to come, veteran BJP leader and former National Council member N Sivarajan made a controversial call to replace India's national flag with a saffron flag. The incident occurred during a public protest organised by the BJP at the Anchuvilakku Junction in Palakkad, where the party accused both the LDF and UDF of insulting 'Bharat Mata'. During the protest, Sivarajan, who is the BJP sitting councillor in Palakkad municipality, stated that political parties should be prohibited from using flags resembling the national tricolour. Targeting the Congress and NCP, he further said they should adopt distinct flags -- suggesting that the Congress would use a green flag. Sivarajan went on to say that Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi, who he alleged were ignorant of Indian history, could instead fly the Italian flag.
