Edinburgh Pride 2025: All to know on date, route and line-up
Discussing the event, Brett Herriot, chair of Pride Edinburgh, said it "comes at a time where many within the LGBTQIA+ community are under threat and persecution simply for being who and what they are."
He added that "standing together has never meant more" and that this gathering would be a "clear statement" to the world.
When is Edinburgh Pride 2025 taking place?
This year's Edinburgh Pride will take place on Saturday, June 21, with the attendees gathering for the march from around 12.15pm.
It will set off at around 1pm following the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence's minute of noise and minute of silence.

The route for the Edinburgh march will start at the Scottish Parliament before going past Canongate, High Street, George IV Bridge, Bristo Place, Potterrow, Crichton Street and Charles Street.

Llandovery set for summer markets in the town centre
These events take place monthly in Market Square, running until September. The next market is scheduled for Saturday, July 6, operating from 10am to 2pm. Pinc List 2025: Wales' most influential LGBTQ+ people
It's been another brilliant year of progress for the LGBTQ+ community in Wales with more inclusive groups across the nation than ever before, while events celebrating pride continue to pop up even in Cymru's most remote villages. As with every year, with the support of Pride Cymru, we have worked hard to whittle down the many nominations for our annual Pinc List. The list, now in its tenth year, recognises the most influential LGBTQ+ people in Wales. This year, it includes our ones to watch - those newer to Wales or public life - as well as national treasures - the people who have, and continue, to make a huge difference often on a national or international stage. In sporting life, it recognises those who have worked tirelessly in the last year to bring the EuroGames, an international LGBTQ+ multi-sport event held annually, to Cardiff in 2027 as well as Cardiff's abundance of LGBTQ+ sports teams. More LGBTQ+ people than ever hold top positions in Wales, making a significant difference to the lives of Welsh people - including politicians, healthcare professionals and those who lobby in front - and behind - the scenes to make a difference. While celebrating all that has been done and the barriers which have stood in the way of LGBTQ+ people for so long coming down, we also acknowledge there is still so much work to do. This weekend the LGBTQ+ community, and their freedom to live their lives authentically, will be celebrated at Pride Cymru as thousands march through the capital. It is the 40th anniversary of the first Pride march in Wales and some of those there 40 years ago will lead the parade this year. It will be followed by a huge celebration of inclusivity in Bute Park, open to all. You can see all the details of the acts, tickets and the parade here. British LGBT Awards: Steps' Ian ‘H' Watkins honoured
Steps star Ian 'H' Watkins has been honoured at the British LGBT known for his time in the 90s pop band, the singer was recognised for his work organising pride events and his advocacy for same-sex parents. Watkins is the founder of Cowbridge Pride in Glamorgan, Wales and puts on the annual event to raise funds for local causes related to the LGBTQ+ community. He told the BBC receiving the honour was an "emotional" moment. He said: "Tonight is a really important night, all nights like this, because it's a celebration and there's lots of heart. There's real people, there are real stories."I think people have to remember that when everybody goes home and they take their glam rags off, that's when the real work starts."Actor Billy Porter, best known for his role as Pray Tell in Pose, also received a special award on the night, in recognition of his work on stage and screen and for raising awareness of HIV in 2021, when Porter confirmed he was living with HIV, he said he had kept it a secret for 14 years but that speaking about it helped him stop feeling ashamed of his diagnosis. He made his name on Broadway, winning a Tony Award for his role in the musical Kinky Boots in British LGBT awards are considered one of the most significant events for the LGBTQ+ community and have been held annually since of celebrities, campaigners and LGBTQ+ allies attended this year's presenter Scott Mills, who won the LGBT+ advocacy award at last year's ceremony, was a co-host of the night. He told BBC News it was important the event also reflected the work of business leaders and companies promoting said: "It's about creating a more inclusive society where people are respected and they feel empowered at work and valued."It's not all about which celebrity is here, it's about everyday places making change for the better."Sarah Garrett MBE, founder of the awards, said they were about "celebrating our community and those who uplift it".Previous winners include: Adele Roberts, for her work promoting awareness of bowel cancer; Tom Daley, who won the sports personality of the year category, and Doctor Who actor David Tennant.
