terrorist Lakhbir Singh alias Landa and dreaded gangster
Pavittar Batala
in a
Punjab terror conspiracy
case, officials said on Sunday.
The chargesheet was filed before a special NIA court in Mohali on Friday,.
Jatinder Singh, hailing from Gurdaspur district of Punjab, was arrested by the NIA from Mumbai on December 23, last year in the case, according to an official statement.

Jatinder Singh was involved in illegal procurement and supply of firearms from Madhya Pradesh to Punjab-based gangsters, the agency said.
He was facilitating the supply of weapons to ground operatives of Batala, a close associate of designated individual terrorist Landa, it said.

Batala's foreign-based associates were coordinating Jatinder Singh's operations in India, the NIA said.
The weapons were being used by Batala's operatives in Punjab to promote Babbar Khalsa International's criminal-terror activities, it said.
It was further found during the
NIA investigation
that Jatinder Singh used to procure illegal weapons from a known arms supplier, Baljeet Singh alias Rana Bhai, in Madhya Pradesh.
Baljeet Singh had already been arrested and chargesheeted by NIA. The accused were using virtual numbers and encrypted applications to avoid detection by law enforcement agencies, the statement said.
NIA is investigating the role of Landa as well as designated terrorist Harwinder Singh alias Rinda and their foreign-based accomplices in the conspiracy, it added.

Nepali woman held at Bengaluru airport with forged Indian passport
Bengaluru: A 32-year-old Nepali woman, Mina Kumari Dhamena, was arrested at Kempegowda International Airport (KIA) after she attempted to board a flight to Abu Dhabi using a forged Indian passport. According to a complaint filed by immigration officer Vijeyanta Singha, Mina reported to the immigration wing at Terminal 2 around 11pm on June 19. She was scheduled to travel on IndiGo flight 6E1419. She presented passport number V8321978 at the counter. The officer on duty grew suspicious during routine questioning. Mina told officials she was visiting Abu Dhabi as a tourist. However, her responses and behaviour prompted the officer to escalate the matter to senior officials. Upon further questioning, she confessed to being a Nepalese, who had entered India in 2012 via a check post in Uttar Pradesh with her husband. The couple had initially stayed in Mathikere before moving to Subbaiahnapalya in east Bengaluru, where they currently reside. CPI (Maoist) NR bureau terror revival case: NIA nabs one more accused from Delhi
NEW DELHI: The anti-terror federal probe agency NIA has arrested another key accused, identified as Vishal Singh, in connection with its probe into the CPI (Maoist) Northern Region Bureau (NRB) terror revival conspiracy, officials said on Sunday. Following the arrest, the agency conducted a search at his residence in West Delhi and seized devices including hard drives, pen drives, mobile phones, and other incriminating material, they said. Singh, originally from Mathura in Uttar Pradesh, has been found to be a member of the CPI (Maoist), the officials said, alleging that he had delivered a drone to leaders of the banned outfit in the Chhakarbanda/Panchrukhiya forest area of Bihar to further its violent anti-national activities. 'He had imparted technical training to other cadres of the CPI (Maoist) and had also attended meetings with its central committee members in the deep forest areas of Bihar in 2019,' a senior NIA official said.
