The Baltimore Ravens continue to be one of the most dominant teams in the entire NFL, though they have had trouble getting past the upper-echelon AFC teams like the Kansas City Chiefs and Buffalo Bills. A big reason for that has to do with the defense, which doesn't have the best secondary.

The Ravens were second-worst in terms of allowed passing yards per game in 2024, with 244.1 yards allowed on average. Though the team has Kyle Hamilton at the safety position and Marlon Humphrey at the corner position, more is needed.
Having a strong defense would be the biggest way the Ravens could get over the hump on not making the Super Bowl, especially against tough passing teams like the Chiefs and Bills. That said, Baltimore star Lamar Jackson is already campaigning for the team to make a major update with a Pro Bowler.

Jackson was speaking to the media when he stated that Ravens general manager Eric DeCosta should make a big play to sign recently released corner, Jaire Alexander.
Alexander was surprisingly released by the Green Bay Packers, leading to him being able to sign with whatever team he wishes. Jackson has plenty of history with the corner, as they both played for Louisville.

The biggest issue with Alexander has been his durability. The star corner is one of the best when he is on the field. However, he has not played a full season since 2022.
Alexander has played seven games in each of the last two seasons, and his injury concerns might be a big reason why teams have not yet signed him. Though he does have an injury history, he remains one of the best coverage corners in the game.
Alexander is likely to sign with a team before training camp starts, or he won't have to wait long. That team could be the Ravens, especially if Jackson has anything to do with it.
Per the post above from NFL insider Ari Meirov, it also indicates that Jackson has already been in contact with Alexander over joining the Ravens. If the former Packers defender is fully healthy, he would be an incredible addition to the already-solid defense of Baltimore.

(AP Photo/Phil Long) ANAHEIM, Calif. (AP) — Los Angeles Angels manager Ron Washington will be out indefinitely because of health issues, and bench coach Ray Montgomery will manage Friday night's series opener against the Houston Astros. Washington, 73, experienced shortness of breath and appeared fatigued toward the end of a four-game series against the Yankees. He was cleared by Yankees doctors to fly home with the team Thursday night and underwent a series of medical tests on Friday. Advertisement General manager Perry Minasian announced Washington's status before the game. The Angels did not specify what symptoms Washington is experiencing, but said the manager was able to address the team in the clubhouse along with Minasian on Friday, and he was planning to watch the game from the GM's Angel Stadium suite. Washington was not made available to the media. 'Wash has not felt great the last couple of days,' Minasian said. 'We want to make sure he's 100% before he's back in the dugout and managing. How long it's going to take, I don't know. I don't expect it to be too long. 'We all know how important this is for all of us, but health is more important than anything, and me personally, I'm not letting him back in the dugout until I know he's 100% OK. I love the guy too much.' Advertisement Washington, who managed the Texas Rangers to back-to-back World Series in 2010 and 2011, was hired by Minasian before a 2024 season in which the Angels lost a franchise-record 99 games. The Angels entered Friday night's game at 36-38 —- 6 1/2 games behind the Astros in the AL West. The Angels are 15-6 in one-run games, a major league-best .714 winning percentage, and 5-0 in extra innings. 'He wants to manage–I don't know if he's ever missed a game–but at the end of the day, you have to make tough decisions,' Minasian said. 'For me, I want to make sure the guy is absolutely healthy, and physically, he's in the right place before we put him back in the dugout. 'We play some close games. They're not the types of games you can sit back, kick your feet up and just watch. They're pretty tight games, stressful games, and I want to make sure he's good to go health-wise before he gets back in the dugout.' ___ AP MLB:

Chiefs cut two players as corresponding moves
The Chiefs cut tight end Kevin Foelsch and offensive guard Tremayne Anchrum Jr. on Friday, according to the NFL's transactions report. They were corresponding moves after the Chiefs signed tight end Geor'Quarius Spivey and offensive lineman Joey Lombard, agreements that previously were reported. Both Spivey and Lombard were tryout players at the team's minicamp. The Chiefs signed Foelsch, who was cut by the Texans on April 21. Anchrum, 26, joined Houston last November, signing with the team's practice squad. He did not appear in a game for Houston last season but returned on a futures contract. The Rams made Anchrum a seventh-round pick in 2020, and he has appeared in 31 career games with one start. He was on the Rams' roster in Super Bowl LIV. Anchrum also has spent time with the Seahawks and Saints. Foelsch signed nine days ago. The Eagles cut him from their practice squad near the end of last season. Foelsch played collegiately at New Haven, a Division II school, and had 16 touchdown receptions. He signed with the Panthers as an undrafted free agent in 2024 and also spent time with the Jets.
