BGT finalist rumbled as huge TV star with connection to Simon Cowell
Ping Pang Pong are set to compete in the Britain's Got Talent final tonight - and it's been discovered that the creator of the group has a prior 'connection' to Simon Cowell
Hip-hop and ping pong fusion dance group Ping Pang Pong wowed judges and audiences with their Britain's Got Talent audition and semi-final, and now it's time for the group to take to the stage for the final time.
Although they didn't receive the all important Golden Buzzer during the semi-final, the group had the backing of the audience - as they were sent through to the final as they received the most votes from the public.
The group, who title themselves as the " world 's first ping pong dance revolution," incorporate ping pong paddles and balls into their dance routines, with the unique twist raising the audience to their feet. But that's not all...
Adding into the uniqueness, during one part of their routine, one of the dancers was seen shooting a ping pong ball from his mouth across the stage as another dancer caught it in his own mouth. Despite the act being hailed as one of a kind, it's not the first time they've appeared on a show like this.
In 2023, they group auditioned for Italia's Got Talent. During their stint on the show, the group received Khaby Lame's Golden Buzzer and later advanced to the final.
Group creator Patrizio Ratto, however has gone many steps further with several TV appearances under his belt. Most notably, the star competed on America's Got Talent - but as a pianist. It means his BGT audition wasn't the first time the star crossed paths with Simon Cowell.
The star competed on season 14 of the series, which aired in 2020. However, he was unfortunately eliminated from the contest during the judges cut.
The Italian star wowed the judges in his audition, as he played Fur Elise on the piano before proceeding to perform some robotic dancing. Howie Mandel, Julianne Hough, Gabrielle Union, and Simon Cowell all voted "Yes," as the star proceeded to the next round. However, during the Judges Cuts his performance wasn't enough to send him through to the next round.
It wasn't the only time the star auditioned for a onscreen talent show, having competed in the 6th season of Italian competition series Tu Si Que Vales in which he ultimately placed 3rd overall in the Final.
In 2020, he competed in for the 10th season of Romania's Got Talent, and in 2023, he auditioned for Spain's Got Talent: All-Stars, although he failed to advance through the the final.
He then took group Ping Pang Pong into Italia's Got Talent in 2023 before they auditioned for Britain's Got Talent two years later. During their stint on Italia's Got Talent, the group received Khaby Lame's Golden Buzzer and later advanced to the final.

Whether you want to gaze out toward The Shard, indulge in some delicious food, or have a boogie while the DJ plays – we think we've got something for everyone. So, if you're in need of some inspiration for your next night out, Metro has 10 picks of the city's best rooftop venues… When you're 11 floors up at this rooftop bar with views of the Gherkin and St Pauls, there are few views that rival it. The award-winning Florattica is known for its iconic flower ceiling, al fresco dining and a DJ that brings the coolest vibes – it's a spot you don't want to miss. Be sure to try some of its experimental cocktails, and line your stomach with a selection of small plates and fresh pasta. It's a must-visit, although be aware it doesn't come cheap – cocktails start at around £15, while the cheapest glass of wine will set you back a tenner. There's also Sunday sessions from 1pm to 9pm which offer DJ sets as you watch the sun go down.
