DMK Drav Model 2.0 govt will rule TN again in 2026 : Stalin
Erode, June 11 (UNI) Asserting that the ruling DMK has launched various welfare measures for
the agriculturists, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M K Stalin said the DMK's Dravidian Model 2.0 will
form the government again in 2026 and more schemes would be launched for the farmers.
Stating that the DMK was always an agri-friendly government and listed out various initiatives implemented by it, Mr Stalin launched a scathing attack on the previous AIADMK regime and
accused it of betraying the farmers in every possible way.
Speaking after inaugurating an Agri Expo and a conference at Perundurai in this district, he said
the AIADMK rule was like weeds growing among crops--disruptive and harmful to agriculture.
Accusing the AIADMK of supporting the three farm laws enacted by the Centre that were aimed at snatching the rights of the agriculturists, the Chief Minister said "only for such acts of betrayal, you have defeated the AIADMK (in 2021 polls and installed the DMK in power".
Highlighting Erode's contribution to agriculture, the Chief Minister said, 'Known as the turmeric
capital of India, Erode ranks 8th in agricultural development in the state.
"For the first time in Tamil Nadu's history, our government has presented a separate budget for the agriculture sector', he added
Stalin said Tamil Nadu had produced 458 lakh metric tonnes of food grains in the past four years under the DMK regime. 'It is because of our farmers that we have food and good health. Their hard work ensures people live happily,' he said.
Referring to the DMK's approach since taking office, he said, 'We renamed the Agriculture Department as the Department of Farmers' Welfare to reflect our commitment. We are not fake farmers who just wear a green shawl for appearance. If a farmer faces a problem, I will be the
first to stand by their side.'
In a sharp critique, Stalin said, 'Farmers know how weeds sprout among crops. The AIADMK government was like those weeds. It betrayed farmers in every aspect. Think back—didn't you
have to protest for every basic need during their rule?'
He also pointed out that the number of farmer suicides was higher during the previous AIADMK regime.
In contrast, under the current DMK 'Dravidian Model government' he said, efforts are being made
to protect and support the farming community.
'The Dravidian Model 2.0 government will be established again and more schemes for agriculturists
will be launched. For this we need your continued support to take this farmer-friendly government forward,' he added.
During his official visit to the district, Mr Stalin also launched 16 completed projects and laid the Foundation stone for 11 new projects to the tune of Rs 175.23 crores and distributed Rs 25.41
crore worth welfare measures to 4,524 beneficiaries.

Guwahati, June 21 (UNI) Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Saturday said the revival of peace across Assam was reflected in the rise in footfall to the Manas National Park and tiger reserve. He attributed the international recognition of yoga to Prime Minister Narendra Modi's efforts, particularly his address to the United Nations General Assembly on September 27, 2014, which resulted in the UN's formal declaration of June 21 as International Yoga Day on December 11, 2014. Reviewing Assam's engagement with the Yoga Day, the Chief Minister recalled that the inaugural state-level celebration was held at Sarusajai Stadium in Guwahati in 2015, with subsequent editions hosted in locations such as Majuli, Nalbari, Nagaon, Kamrup Metropolitan, Dibrugarh, Dhemaji, Dhubri, and Tezpur. He expressed confidence that this year's event, held in collaboration with the BTR and Baksa administration, would invigorate the advancement of yoga in the region. Sarma also remarked on the significance of Salbari as the venue, observing its transition from a region once affected by conflict during the Bodo movement to now emblematic of Bodoland's improved conditions and administrative stability. The event, he stated, not only celebrates yoga but also symbolises the region's resilience and renewal. Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Saturday announced a major increase in the state's social security pension scheme. Under the revised scheme, senior citizens and persons with disabilities will now receive Rs 1100 per month, up from the earlier amount of Rs Kumar announced the decision on X, stating that the increased pension amount will be disbursed starting from July. This decision is expected to bring relief to over 1 crore 9 lakh 69 thousand 255 beneficiaries across the am happy to inform you that under the Social Security Pension Scheme, widowed women, elderly and disabled people will now get a pension of Rs. 1100 instead of Rs. 400 every month. All beneficiaries will get a pension at the increased rate from the month of July. It will be ensured that this amount is sent to the account of all beneficiaries on the 10th of the month. This will help 1 crore 9 lakh 69 thousand 255 beneficiaries,' Nitish Kumar said in a post on X. The government has also specified that the revised pension will be credited to beneficiaries' bank accounts on the 10th of every month. Iranian leader Ahmad Alamolhoda urges citizens to not be misled by Israel's ‘psychological warfare'
Tehran, June 20 (UNI) Ahmad Alamolhoda, Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei's representative in Iran's northeastern province of Khorasan Razavi, said on Friday that Iranians should not be alarmed by the deaths of commanders, nuclear programme officials, or the loss of social assets, which he said was part of Israel's "psychological warfare", reports Iran International. 'The enemy wants to frighten us through psychological and military operations. Fear leads to weakness, but the people have not wavered,' he said during Friday prayers sermons. Echoing Khamenei's recent remarks about alleged 'Israeli psychological warfare', Alamolhoda called on citizens to continue their normal lives. 'Why should we evacuate cities? That's exactly what the enemy wants—to disrupt your daily lives so you abandon the field,' he said. Iran has been cracking down on cyberattacks in the country's cyberspace, restricting internet access, or altogether cutting it in certain parts, to tackle any 'misinformation'. Fatemeh Mohajerani, the spokesperson of the Iranian government, justifying the government action, said that the ongoing internet restrictions were implemented to protect citizens and counter cyberattacks amid what she described as 'psychological warfare and digital threats by Israel.' She said ministers are working around the clock with the president and key cabinet members inspecting infrastructure and public services on the ground. Authorities have meanwhile warned residents that national internet services could replace global access if necessary and urged citizens to rely solely on state media and domestic messaging apps for news. Mohajerani added that any perceived insult to the Supreme Leader would trigger a "widespread reaction" from the public.
