Rico Bogen hoping momentum can lead to back-to-back T100 victories
Rico Bogen hopes the momentum from his first T100 World Triathlon Tour victory can carry him to the top of the podium again in Vancouver.
Bogen claimed his maiden T100 victory with a dominant performance in San Francisco in May, lifting him to the top of the overall standings after two races.
The German now hopes that having earned a first race win, he can repeat the feat on a new course for all athletes in Canada just two weeks after the San Francisco leg.
'I have the momentum on my side but it's a new day and a strong field,' he said. 'Let's see how the others are in the race and if I can perform like I did in San Francisco.
'It's hard to do it back-to-back, and it's such a strong field. I am in a good mood and want to have fun out there.
'It gave me confidence, now I know I can win a race like the T100 with such a strong field. You are always a little bit nervous for the race, but this gave me confidence that with a good training block I can beat everybody.
'It would be very cool to win back-to-back races, and it would be very good for the overall series.'

The T100 arrives in Vancouver for the third stop of a world tour that will culminate in a final in Qatar in December.
Bogen finished 10th on the first stop in Singapore before rocketing up the rankings with victory in San Francisco, but knows another good result is required in Vancouver ahead of the tour's European legs in France and the UK.
The race in Vancouver is the first time the T100 has taken place in the Canadian city, and Bogen hopes his time reconnecting with nature can help him to another strong result.
'The course is very similar to San Francisco so we didn't change too much in training,' he said. We came straight from San Francisco, it's important to be able to fully reset and train.
'It's my first time here in Canada. Last week I travelled in a camper with my parents. We visited a bit of nature, it's beautiful. I love nature and I love a little bit more silence
'It's such a cool city. It's perfect conditions for triathlon. The bike course looks cool, a bit of technical stuff and a bit of hills.'

Liverpool's next signing accidentally 'confirmed' after Florian Wirtz's arrival
Liverpool have been one of the busiest clubs in the transfer window so far, and their next expected signing was seemingly confirmed rather prematurely by Gary Lineker on his podcast Gary Lineker went a little early in claiming Liverpool have already completed the signing of Bournemouth defender Milos Kerkez, despite the club not making any announcements as yet. The Hungarian defender looks all set for a move to Anfield. Almost one year on from only completing the signing of Federico Chiesa in his first transfer window, Arne Slot has overseen a spectacular spending spree so far in June. Bayer Leverkusen defender Jeremie Frimpong has since been followed to Merseyside by Florian Wirtz in a British record deal worth up to £116m. The German international's arrival at Liverpool was officially confirmed on Friday evening by the club after weeks of negotiations. And it has been made clear that Kerkez is edging towards Liverpool too, in a deal which will be worth around £40m. The left-back is expected to undergo a medical next week. However, Lineker seemingly jumped the gun while speaking on his podcast in regard to the state of Kerkez's move. On Sunday's episode of The Rest is Football, Lineker said: "Liverpool have been impressive so far with the signings they have done. "They have just completed Florian Wirtz for £116m, that's a lot of dough, from Bayer Leverkusen, but he's a wonderfully talented player. "Milos Kerkez from Bournemouth for around £40m. They join Jeremie Frimpong, who signed a couple of weeks ago, all three worth just under £200m.' While the odds would suggest that Kerkez's move to Liverpool is as good as done, many transfers in the past have collapsed in the final stages. In fact, if Kerkez's move to Anfield was to fall through with a medical still to come, it would not be the first time this has happened to the Reds. In the summer of 2018, Liverpool fans were left crestfallen when the £58.5m arrival of Lyon midfielder Nabil Fekir collapsed at the last minute. A fee had been agreed for the Frenchman and the Merseysiders had even agreed personal terms with the midfielder, who was being viewed as the long-term replacement for Philippe Coutinho. However, a knee issue spotted in the medical resulted in the move falling through. That has been disputed, though, as Fekir has previously spoken about the strange saga, claiming he passed his medical and that he did not understand why the move could not be completed. Liverpool supporters will certainly be hoping Lineker's confident statement has not jinxed a move for Kerkez, who contributed two goals and six assists in 38 Premier League appearances from left-back last season. His arrival would take Liverpool's spending north of the £200m mark if goalkeeper Giorgi Mamardashvili is included in this year's figures, which is said to be the case despite a deal being agreed with Valencia last summer. It's also believed the Reds are not near to being finished with their activity in the summer transfer window. They have also been linked with huge moves for Crystal Palace central defender Marc Guehi and Newcastle United forward Alexander Isak. Reports from The Telegraph claim Slot's side would love to sign the latter, who contributed 23 Premier League goals and six assists in 34 appearances last season.

Prince Harry ‘will invite King Charles & William to next Invictus Games' – but it clashes with key royal event

The Duke of Sussex, 40, could extend the olive branch to his estranged family at the 2027 event, although it clashes with a key royal bash. A source claimed: "Harry has agreed that Invictus should extend an invitation to his family. "Invictus hopes the Royal Family will come along to support the wounded veterans taking part. Harry is hopeful his father will set aside their differences to attend the Invictus Games and support veterans. "The Royals have always been hugely supportive of Invictus and proud of what Harry has achieved in that arena. This is one olive branch from him which might be reciprocated." If the Monarch and his eldest son were to attend it could mark the biggest step towards reconciliation so far. It comes after the Duke revealed in his bombshell BBC interview last month that "life is precious" and "I would like to get my father and brother back". Royal expert Ingrid Seward said: "The King might attend to show support for the Armed Forces and congratulate Harry on the most significant success in his life. "The only reason the King is wary of associating with his son is that he no longer trusts him not to repeat their private conversations as he has done in the past. "This goes for all the working members of the family." It is understood the invitations to Charles and Wills have already been approved by Harry and sent. The ceremony will kick off at Birmingham's NEC on July 12, 2027, and will conclude on July 17. A spokesman for Invictus said: "No formal invitations have been issued as preparations are in the early stages." It is not known whether Harry's wife Meghan Markle would also be in attendance after the Duke lost his security bid last month. He begged "my life is stake" as he appealed against the withdrawal of his publicly-funded security while in the UK. This comes after Harry said a reconciliation with his family lay in Charles' hands. Speaking to the BBC, the Duke said there is no reason to keep fighting - but that the King won't speak to him over his security row. Harry said Charles "won't speak to me because of this security stuff", after loosing an appeal battle to keep his privately-funded security. "I would love reconciliation with my family. There's no point continuing to fight any more, life is precious", Harry continued. Harry also sensationally blamed the King for his woes and claimed "this whole thing could be resolved through him". The Duke moaned it was "impossible" to bring his family to the UK and that it is "sad" that he won't be able to show his children his homeland. Harry's row started after he stopped being a working royal in 2020, moved with wife Meghan to California, and wrote his bombshell book Spare. He added in the interview: "Of course, some members of my family will never forgive me for writing a book. "Of course, they will never forgive me for lots of things. "But you know, I would love reconciliation with my family. "I've always, there's no point in continuing to fight anymore. "And I said, life is precious. I don't know how much longer my father has he, he won't speak to me because of this security stuff, but it would be nice to reconcile." There was hope for reconciliation last year when Harry travelled to the UK to celebrate the 10 year anniversary of his Invictus Games. However, the King and Harry failed to meet due to the Monarch's "full programme". And the Duke was offered to spend his time at one of the royal apartments - however he turned it down in what was branded a snub to his father. Meanwhile, Princes William and Harry have not been in direct communication since the release of Harry's controversial memoir, Spare, in January 2023. Their last reported interaction was during the funeral of their grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II, in September 2022, but conversations were said to be brief. The feuding brothers reportedly did not speak to each other despite standing 'virtually back to back' among mourners at their uncle's memorial service last year. The brothers have been at loggerheads since Harry and wife Meghan quit royal duty in 2020 for a new life in the US, where they have launched a succession of barbs at the Royal Family. Growing up, Wills and Harry shared many of the same friends who were part of their close, tight-knit circle. But their relationship took a sour turn after Harry lobbed vile allegations against the Prince of Wales in his memoir Spare. In the book, he claimed William had physically attacked him and knocked him to the floor in 2019 and made insulting comments about Meghan. The Sussexes had also targeted Princess Kate, when Meghan claimed the royal made her cry. The bitter feud was ignited with full force when the Sussexes told Oprah, in their 2021 sit down interview, that certain members of the Royal Family had speculated about Prince Archie's skin colour. It was later claimed the royals were Princess Kate and King Charles, after Harry and Meghan's former pal Omid Scobie published his hatchet-job book Endgame. During the infamous Oprah interview, the duchess also made stinging comments about the Firm and how they handled her mental health struggles. Prince William and Harry's bond then worsened after the Sussexes made a number of accusations against the Royal Family in their 2022 Netflix docuseries. The duke has given subsequent interviews, such as his most recent BBC chat, that have only propelled bad blood. A timeline of Prince Harry's family feud IN 2018, the Sun told how "simmering tension The first hints of friction reportedly came after William was introduced to Meghan when she was staying at Kensington Palace. Once she'd returned home to Canada, William and Harry sat down for a brother-to-brother chat. He knew Harry was already head-over-heels for her but it has been claimed he advised him to take it slowly. The younger prince reportedly didn't take too kindly to the advice, with one royal source saying he "went mental". Then in June 2019 Harry and Meghan officially split off from the charity they shared with William and Kate. The Royal Foundation will be divided between the Sussexes and Cambridges as the couples focus on their own separate charitable endeavours. Prince William and Prince Harry first established the Royal Foundation in 2009 before Kate joined two years later shortly after their engagement was announced. The Royal Foundation said the decision was made following the conclusion of a review into its structure - but added both couples will continue to work together in the future. Harry and Meg were living in close proximity to Kate and Wills within the Kensington Palace estate, but they switched to Frogmore Cottage in Windsor before baby Archie was born. The move further increased rumours of a fallout. Harry also hinted in his ITV documentary "Harry and Meghan, An African Journey" that he and his brother had grown apart. In 2021, Harry and Meghan give their bombshell interview with Oprah Winfrey where Harry accused his dad of cutting him off financially. Harry then jetted back to UK to join William in unveiling a statue to their mother Princess Diana in the grounds of Kensington Palace. But sources claimed William didn't want to attend the memorial amid their ongoing rift. In 2022, just before their grandmother the Queen died, sources claimed Kate acts as a "peacemaker" between the brothers. Harry claimed his brother "knocked him to the floor" during an argument about Meghan, in his memoir. In Spare, Harry said William branded Meghan "rude" and "difficult" during a row. Harry alleged William "grabbed me by the collar, ripping my necklace, and … knocked me to the floor". He said he was left with a visible injury to his back following the argument in 2019 at Nottingham Cottage on the grounds of Kensington Palace, where he was living at the time. Bayern Munich hijack Chelsea's transfer move for £51m forward
Chelsea have encountered another hurdle in their bid to sign Jamie Gittens, with Bayern Munich joining the race for the wantaway Borussia Dortmund attacker. Gittens reportedly agreed personal terms with Chelsea before BVB's Club World Cup campaign got underway earlier this month and the 20-year-old has been eager to push through a move to Stamford Bridge. But the Blues have failed with two separate offers for Gittens and Dortmund are refusing to be bullied by the Europa Conference League winners as talks rumble on between the clubs. Determined to get their man having already landed Liam Delap, Dario Essugo and Mamadou Sarr, the west London giants are expected to return with a third offer for Gittens in due course. But according to German publication Kicker, Bayern are preparing to ramp up their pursuit of Gittens as they grow increasingly resigned to their top target, Nico Williams, joining Barcelona.
