Kembara Pesta Riuh Brings Culture, Creativity And Govt Outreach To Kelantan
KOTA BHARU, June 19 (Bernama) -- The Kembara Pesta RIUH Itu-Ini festival, launched at Sultan Muhammad IV Stadium here, is part of the Communications Ministry's effort to bring public services closer to the people while celebrating local food, arts and culture.
Deputy Secretary-General (Strategic Communications and Creative Industry) Nik Kamaruzaman Nik Husin said the event takes a fresh approach compared to the previous Kembara Riuh Keluarga Malaysia (KRKM) edition held in Ketereh in 2022.
'This time, the focus is on showcasing Kelantan's rich cultural identity, from traditional cuisine to batik and local crafts,' he told Bernama after visiting the national news agency's booth at the festival today.
Running from today until Saturday, the three-day programme features six government agencies, more than 15 performances and is expected to draw around 30,000 visitors. It is open from 10 am to 10 pm daily.
Nik Kamaruzaman said the festival blends food, entertainment, cultural showcases and community activities into an inclusive platform meant to benefit all walks of life.
'It highlights local food vendors, creative entrepreneurs, homegrown artists and micro-businesses, especially those from rural areas,' he said, adding that the goal is to expand the reach of the creative economy to underserved communities.
After Kelantan, the Kembara RIUH Pesta Itu-Ini will head to Johor and Perak as part of the ministry's nationwide outreach.
Nik Kamaruzaman also encouraged residents from across Kelantan, including districts like Pasir Puteh and Jeli, to take part in the festivities, which bring together multiple government and community partners.

GENERAL KUALA LUMPUR, June 22 (Bernama) -- The MARESMAF Wind Orchestra (MAWO) from MARA Junior Science College (MRSM) Ulul Albab Felda Trolak has achieved remarkable success by winning the Golden Diploma Award at the 2025 International Wind Orchestra Festival in Prague, Czech Republic. This achievement demonstrates that young talents from rural areas have tremendous potential to shine on the global stage. Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi expressed hope that MAWO's victory in the Middle Class category would inspire young people, particularly those from rural communities, to dream big and believe that there are no boundaries to success. 'This victory is more than just musical excellence. It symbolises the indomitable spirit of rural youth taking on the world stage,' he said in a Facebook post today. He added that the triumph belongs not only to MRSM and Felda but to all Malaysians. He confirmed that the government will continue investing in youth arts programmes through ongoing support, provision of equipment and funding. Ahmad Zahid, who is also the Rural and Regional Development Minister, said as the sole representative from Asia in the competition, Malaysia not only succeeded in outperforming seven other orchestra groups from six European countries but also earned the highest scores from the panel of international professional judges. 'I witnessed firsthand their talent and discipline at the 'Desaku Mendunia' send‑off concert on May 28 at the Seri Angkasa Auditorium, RTM Angkasapuri. The festival, which took place on June 20 and 21, featured 13 orchestra groups from 11 countries and was divided into three categories namely Lower Class, Middle Class and Higher Class, based on the difficulty level of the musical pieces and the technical abilities of the participants.
