ITV quiz show stars 'pull out' of new series just weeks before filming

Daily Record4 hours ago

The show made its debut last year becoming the newest addition to ITV's ever-growing game show line-up
An ITV quiz show has suffered a significant setback as reports claim that its two celebrity team captains won't be returning for the upcoming series.
First introduced last year, Password joined the ranks of ITV's expanding roster of game shows. The programme, which aired during September and October, is hosted by Stephen Mangan and comes from the creative minds behind Britain's Got Talent and QI.

In Password, celebrity team captains collaborate with a member of the public to win a jackpot of £10,000. Each captain knows a secret password which their teammate must deduce from a single-word hint.

Last series featured Daisy May Cooper and Alan Carr as team captains, but now it appears they won't be back for round two.
The Sun has quoted a source saying: "Password did brilliantly on its first outing and it's always a shame to make changes, but Alan and Daisy are both incredibly busy and diaries just wouldn't align."
The source added: "Something had to give and sadly it was their roles as team captains. But there's an exciting line-up of celebs ready to take part instead, and everyone's confident that the format works without them."
Reach PLC has made attempts to contact ITV for a statement regarding the claims.
This development follows the news that Daisy and her brother Charlie, who played alongside her in This Country, have withdrawn from participating in the forthcoming series of Celebrity Traitors, reports Wales Online.

Just a few weeks before the cameras were set to roll, it was reported that the two actors had unexpectedly withdrawn. According to the Mirror, Daisy and Charlie made the decision as they didn't want to be separated from their families.
Daisy, aged 38, welcomed her baby Benji with partner Anthony Huggins, 45, in June. She also has Pip, six, and Jack, three, from a previous relationship. Charlie, 35, is a father of two children with his wife Leighanne.

In other news, Alan is part of the Celebrity Traitors line-up, joining the likes of Stephen Fry and Jonathan Ross.
He's also slated to co-host the new series of Secret Genius alongside Suzie Dent, and has collaborated with Amanda Holden on another TV series, titled Amanda and Alan's Greek Job, for which release dates are yet to be confirmed.
Amanda and Alan have previously won over audiences with their other TV series, Amanda and Alan's Italian Job and Amanda and Alan's Spanish Job.

Andy Carroll and Lou Teasdale 'disappointed' after police called over row

Footballer, Andy Carroll, and his girlfriend, Lou Teasdale, admitted that the police were called after the couple had a 'heated discussion', which they say was 'blown out of proportion' Andy Carroll and his hair stylist girlfriend, Lou Teasdale, have admitted they were spoken to by police following a row between the couple on the Greek island of Mykonos. The pair, who have been dating since last year following the footballer's split with the mum of his three kids, Billi Mucklow, revealed they'd had a "heated discussion" while on the party island, but that things had been "blown out of proportion". Andy, 36, was reportedly questioned about a bust-up he'd had with Lou, 42, at a packed beachside restaurant and then at their hotel. One worker at the Nikolus Tavern said of the first argument: 'We recognised him as the footballer Andy Carroll immediately. He seemed very drunk and furious with his partner. He was using very bad words. It was improper behaviour. The woman looked very upset.' ‌ ‌ The Sun reports that police arrived and took the former West Ham ace, who was "very calm" to one side for a chat. He was later allowed to return to Lou, who is a well-known celebrity hairstylist. However, hours later police were reportedly called again by staff after reports of damage to the couple's room at a £500-a-night boutique hotel. Officers are said to have escorted Andy to a local station for questioning but no arrests were made. Another source claimed Lou did not stay with her boyfriend that night. They said: "After the restaurant episode, there was another incident at the hotel. This time, the footballer went to the police station. We know the woman stayed somewhere else that night.' Meanwhile, a British holidaymaker who reportedly spotted the pair while out for a stroll accused Andy of being "very drunk" adding that he shouted at Lou: "I'm done with us!" ‌ Responding to the reports, Andy and Lou admitted that the police were called following their "heated discussion", however they insisted things had been "blown out of proportion", issuing a joint statement, which read: "Whilst having a private dinner in a restaurant on a quiet holiday in Mykonos, we had a heated discussion of the sort that most couples have had on occasion. It quickly became apparent to the police that there was no reason for them to be there. 'We went outside the restaurant with them together as they insisted they wanted to 'look after' us. 'As far as we are concerned, the situation has been blown out of all proportion by an interested member of the public. No one was arrested, and no one was charged with anything. "We are very happy, in love and looking forward to our future together, and we are disappointed that a private disagreement has become a public matter.'

Olivia Attwood hits out at Kardashians after Kylie Jenner's surgery admission

Former Love Islander Olivia Attwood fronts a new series that delves into the world of aesthetic enhancements, but believes honesty is the best policy when it comes to celebrities and their cosmetic procedures Former Love Island star Olivia Attwood has hit out at the Kardashians for being selective with their honesty about cosmetic surgery, as she slammed celebrities for being "disingenuous". The 34-year-old hosts ITV documentary series The Price of Perfection, in which she discusses the issues around cosmetic surgery and aesthetic enhancements. Olivia herself paid £3,000 for a boob job at the age of 20, but later paid around £10,000 to have them removed and smaller ones implanted. Her comments about the Kardashians come after Kylie Jenner, 27, finally gave details to a follower on TikTok that she had a breast enhancement when she was 19. ‌ The star was questioned about her cleavage, to which she replied with the size, profile and even the name of her surgeon. It came after her mum, Kris Jenner, admitted she'd had a facelift. ‌ But Olivia said Kylie's confession was "too little, too late." She believes Kylie should be honest about the rest of her cosmetic procedures. She added that Kylie and her sisters' bodies "are not created in the gym." Olivia told the Sun: "Kylie came out and said about her boobs, and I was like: 'I've been talking about my breasts for the past 10 years.' I like the Kardashians, this is not me bashing them, but it's too little, too late for me." She went on to say how she feels the Kardashians should be transparent about all their procedures, because it's 'disingenuous' to pretend their looks aren't down to surgery. She continued: "We know Kylie's breasts are fake. "We knew she had lip fillers when she was selling those lip kits. What about talking about lipo and BBLs?," before saying she believes the Kardashians have had more work done. But although she has had breast augmentation more than once, Olivia revealed that a BBL is the one procedure she would steer clear of. Joking that she has a 'pancake bum', the presenter said: "BBL is the only one I wouldn't do, because the risk is too much. It's one of the surgeries that has the highest revision rate." ‌ A BBL, or Brazilian Butt Lift, is a procedure undertaken to change the size of their buttocks. Fat is removed to from other parts of the patient's body, including the belly, hops and back, then injected back into the buttocks. It's one of the surgeries Olivia covers in an episode in the first series of The Price of Perfection. She said of the second season: 'We touched on brand new subjects. There's just so many different avenues that you can cover, and each one is an education in itself.' During the BBL episode, she wants to film a 360 liposuction and BBL procedure, which is performed on a woman named Scarlett. But Olivia feared the worst during the scenes in Turkey, when the crew were told they weren't allowed to record the full treatment after all. ‌ Speaking about the decision, Olivia said: "They did change their mind at the absolute final hour, so we just told that story and it's in its truthfulness." She added: "It was awful. A lot goes into planning these shoots for my team and I. But I was thinking, 'this is a massive red flag. Why have they suddenly changed their mind?'" Series one and two of The Price of Perfection are available now to watch on ITVX.

Art Attack star looks completely unrecognisable after huge career change

Art Attack's Neil Buchanan became a household name when he began hosting the popular children's TV show in 1990, but he looks very different nowadays - 18 years since the show was axed Neil Buchanan, famed for his stint on CITV's Art Attack, is hardly recognisable in recent photos. The artist became a household name 17 years ago when he started presenting Art Attack, a children's TV programme that aired from 1990 to 2007. ‌ The much-loved show taught kids how to create art pieces and provided tips for home creativity. Art Attack enjoyed a remarkable run of 19 series, including six Christmas specials and various other shorts and specials. ‌ ITV sadly declared its cancellation in July 2007, but reruns continued until 30 May 2011. Now aged 68, Neil went on to present shows like Finders Keepers, Animal Crazy, and It's a Mystery. However, he soon left the television world to concentrate on his music career. Neil, originally from Aintree, Liverpool, was part of a heavy metal band named Marseille, which was established in 1976. The band released four albums and six singles during their time together, even touring America and performing alongside Judas Priest, Nazareth and Whitesnake. Marseille made a comeback in 2009 with a performance at The Cavern Club in Liverpool. However, lead singer Nigel Roberts announced in 2017 that Neil had left the band due to his consultancy work for children's television. Neil remains active in the art world and has his own website showcasing his art collections and photography. Fans can snap up fine art prints from the erstwhile TV sensation online. The former star's artwork has been a hot topic for ages, and in 2020, he had to put an end to whispers claiming that he was the mysterious street artist Banksy. ‌ His website made it clear with a statement: "Neil Buchanan ISN'T Banksy. We have been inundated with enquiries over the weekend regarding the current social media story. Unfortunately this website does not have the infrastructure to answer all these enquiries individually, however we can confirm that there is no truth in the rumour whatsoever." The message went on to say: "Neil spent Lockdown with vulnerable members of his family and is now preparing to launch his new art collection in 2021. Thank you and please stay safe." Rumours about Art Attack's grand return to our screens in 2025 have been doing the rounds, though nothing official has been confirmed. The rumour mill even churned out tales of comedian Romesh Ranganathan taking the helm, which he firmly shot down during a chat on The One Show in September. He clarified: "Thank you for asking me that, I'm not. I'm not bringing back Art Attack, what I have done though is been subjected to terrible levels of online abuse," affirming further, "I just want to say to the camera, I am not doing Art Attack. I'm not replacing Neil Buchanan, I respect what he did. I would never step on his legacy in that way! Please stop at'ing me, alright."
