Floyd Shivambu not on list of MK party members going to parliament
The MK party on Saturday released its list of new members to be sworn in at Parliament, and Floyd Shivambu is not among them.

Shivambu was recently axed as the party's secretary-general after he visited fugitive pastor Shepherd Bushiri in Malawi.
His name is not on the list despite earlier claims by the party that he would be redeployed to Parliament.

Wanted Mozambican kidnapper killed during raid in Johannesburg
Police have shot and killed a Mozambican man wanted in connection with multiple kidnappings.

Mauro Mucambe Junior had an outstanding warrant of arrest issued by Maputo police back in August 2024.
The police's anti-kidnapping unit were tracing a kidnapped Pakistani businessman when they encountered the wanted 40-year-old at a residential complex in Fourways earlier this week.

Two SANDF soldiers stabbed to death at Mpumalanga base
Two South African National Defence Force (SANDF) soldiers were stabbed to death in the early hours of Saturday morning by one of their colleagues.

The incident occurred at the Macadamia military base near Komatipoort in Mpumalanga.
SANDF spokesperson Prince Tshabalala said the soldiers were stabbed during an altercation with another SANDF member.

Five suspects were shot and killed in two separate gun battles with police in KwaZulu-Natal (KZN).

Two soldiers stabbed to death at Mpumalanga base after altercation
Two soldiers were stabbed to death during the early hours of Saturday at the Macadamia Military Base near Komatipoort in Mpumalanga, allegedly after a confrontation with a colleague. Rear-Adm Prince Tshabalala, confirmed the incident to TimesLIVE on Saturday. 'The SA National Defence Force (SANDF) confirms that an unfortunate incident occurred in the early hours of this morning at the Macadamia Military Base near Komatipoort, Mpumalanga,' Tshabalala said. 'Preliminary information indicates that a tragic altercation involving SANDF members resulted in the deaths of two soldiers. It is alleged that one of the members fatally stabbed two of his colleagues.' It is understood by TimesLIVE that the attacker then attempted to take his own life with the knife but did not succeed. The SANDF, in conjunction with the SA Police Service (SAPS), has launched a full investigation into the matter. 'The circumstances surrounding the incident remain the subject of ongoing inquiry, and further details will be communicated once officially verified. The SANDF expresses its deepest condolences to the families, friends, and colleagues of the deceased members. This is a deeply painful moment for the organisation and the military community at large,' Tshabalala said. The SANDF appealed to the public and media to allow the investigative processes to unfold without speculation, and to respect the dignity and privacy of the affected families during this difficult time. Man shot dead after being robbed of backpack in Inanda, KZN
A man was shot dead in Inanda, KZN, on Saturday, 21 June 2025, after being robbed of his backpack. According to Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA), a motorist reported to the security company after witnessing two men attacking the victim with pipes. The motorist recalled that the suspects quickly fled the scene with the victim's backpack upon noticing him stop. The motorist said that he was unaware that the victim had been shot. Emergency Medical Services (EMS) were summoned to the scene and found the man unresponsive. Paramedics declared him dead after he sustained a gunshot wound to his back that went through his chest. The suspects have not been apprehended yet. Two-night shift employees at a used spare business in Hazelmere, KZN, were attacked by six armed robbers and tied up for 11 hours on Friday, 20 June 2025. The suspects covered the victims' faces and tied them up at gunpoint. RUSA explained, 'Their hands & feet were bound with belts & shoelaces. Used vehicle bumpers & body parts were then stacked on top of the victims & they were found by dayshift staff eleven (11) hours later in the same position.' The suspects stole mag rims, power tools, car body parts and other items worth thousands of rands throughout the night. According to reports, it is alleged that the leader of the gang was a Mozambican National who was an employee at the same company. The foreign national had his face covered up when the robbery was in progress. He was found in possession of the items taken during the robbery and was arrested. Additional items were discovered in various locations at a home near the Hazelmere Dam. The suspect told RUSA that his accomplices had fled the scene and were on the run. Investigations are taking place.
