Aamir Khan
's latest offering, Sitaare Zameen Par, ended its first weekend at the Indian box office with promising numbers, though it fell just shy of breaching the Rs 60 crore milestone. The film, which opened to decent figures on Friday, showed strong upward momentum through the weekend, driven by positive word of mouth, family appeal, and the actor's loyal fanbase.
According to early estimates on Sacnilk, Sitaare Zameen Par earned Rs 29.00 crore (India net) on Sunday, Day 3. This brings its total weekend collection across all languages to an estimated Rs 59.90 crore net, just under the Rs 60 crore benchmark that many industry trackers had anticipated it would cross.
The film opened with an estimated Rs 10.7 crore on Friday and saw a significant jump on Saturday, collecting Rs 20.2 crore.
Over the first two days, the Hindi version contributed an estimated Rs 30.6 crore out of the total Rs 30.90 crore India net.

The film saw strong occupancy across key markets on Sunday, with Hindi circuits reporting 50.70% occupancy, Tamil circuits at 41.59%, and Telugu regions at 21.92%.
With this weekend's collection, Sitaare Zameen Par has become Aamir Khan's 9th highest-grossing film in terms of India net collections, overtaking Rang De Basanti to enter the top ten. However, it fell short of surpassing Laal Singh Chaddha (Rs 61.12 crore) and the actor's acclaimed 2007 film Taare Zameen Par (Rs 62.95 crore).

Meanwhile, the film has also proven to be a landmark moment in
Genelia Deshmukh
's career. The actress, who plays a pivotal role in the film, now celebrates her highest-grossing film to date. Sitaare Zameen Par has surpassed the lifetime earnings of her 2008 hit Jaane Tu... Ya Jaane Na, which collected around Rs 55.36 crore at the domestic box office.
The film's performance in the coming days will determine whether it can sustain momentum and eventually cross the Rs 100 crore mark.

Brahmaji clears the air about Vishnu Manchu purchasing 7,000-acre land in New Zealand: 'I was pulling their leg as usual...'

A recent behind-the-scenes video from Vishnu Manchu's 'Kannappa' went viral, where his father, actor Mohan Babu , talked about buying 7,000 acres in New Zealand for his son Vishnu . The video, shared by actor Brahmaji , grabbed attention due to Mohan's remark. Amid the ongoing social media reactions and misinterpretations, Brahmaji himself cleared the air. Check out the post here: Brahmaji took to his X (formerly Twitter) handle and wrote, 'Guys, come on! That video I posted with Mr Mohan Babu garu and Vishnu Manchu was pure fun, just a bunch of us having a good laugh like we always do. (sic),' he wrote. Brahmaji confirms the video was made for fun He further added, 'We joked about buying 7,000 acres in New Zealand, even owning the mountains! Vishnu played along, Mohan Babu garu was in full comic form, and I was pulling their leg as usual.' The actor made it clear that the video was only made for fun. Watch the viral video here: He concluded, 'But suddenly people have started believing it's real?! 😳 Arrey bhai… if buying 7,000 acres in New Zealand was that easy, I'd be shooting there every weekend! Let me clear it up before the jokes turn into news headlines. Nobody bought any land. It was all in jest. New Zealand doesn't even allow that kind of land ownership for non-citizens. Please don't take humour so seriously, especially when Kannappa is around the corner and we're all in high spirits! Now smile, laugh a little, and don't turn comedy into something else 😁 #KannappaOnJune27. ' About Kannappa cast and crew Kannappa - Official Hindi Trailer The video shared by Brahmaji on his Instagram account featured Vishnu and Mohan enjoying the scenic beauty in New Zealand, and the Alludugaru actor was seen saying that the whole land is his and his son's. Actor-dancer Prabhu Deva also joined them in the clip with some funny moves and hugged Mohan. Vishnu Manchu's Kannappa is all set to hit theatres on June 27. The Akshay Kumar, Kajal Aggarwal, Mohan Babu, and Sarath Kumar starrer will feature Prabhas and Mohanlal in key roles. This blockbuster film is set for a grand re-release, will show deleted scenes and uncut version, made in Rs 2 crore, film earned Rs..., lead actors are... Bollywood's most iconic film Sholay, which was first released in 1975, is set to re-release on the silver screen, but this time, in its original, cut form. Helmed by Ramesh Sippy, the film will have its world premiere on June 27 in Bologna, Italy, as part of the Il Cinema Ritrovato Festival. Sholay to screen at Bologna Film Festival The special screening of the film will be held at Piazza Maggiore on June 27, 2025, to celebrate Sholay's 50th anniversary. It is a joint collaboration between Film Heritage Foundation and Sippy Films Pvt. Ltd. The full-length version of Sholay, with complete original ending and scenes that were previously cut, will be shown to audiences for the first time. In fact, the resorted version will also include the original ending-in which Thakur kills Gabbar Singh- that was originally cut from the film following directions from the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC). Amitabh Bachchan and Dharmendra talk about Sholay's re-release Amitabh Bachchan, who played a key role in the film, expressed his delight about the re-release and said, 'Some things in life remain permanently etched in your mind. Sholay is one such film. Shooting for the film was an unforgettable experience, but at the time I had no idea that it would be a watershed for Indian cinema. Its dramatic change in fortunes from being declared an unsuccessful venture, to its record-breaking box office run was an emotional rollercoaster for all of us. It's wonderful that the Film Heritage Foundation has restored 'Sholay' and that they have managed to locate and include the original ending as well as some deleted scenes in the restoration.I hope that even 50 years later, the film will capture the imagination of new audiences across the world.' Describing Sholay as the 'eight wonder of the world,' veteran actor Dharmendra expressed, 'I am thrilled to hear that the film is being restored and I am sure it will have the same success as it had 50 years ago. Who can forget the dialogues of Salim-Javed and the direction of Ramesh Sippy? So many scenes have gone down in the history of Indian cinema and every character became a star. But the real hero was the coin… My favourite scenes were the tanki scene, the scene in the temple, and so many others, but the most powerful scene I feel was the death of Jai, which is still etched in my mind.' Made in a reported budget of Rs 2 crore, Sholay earned Rs 35 crore in India, and became the highest-grossing Bollywood film for nearly two decades. The film's cast also included Sanjeev Kumar, Jaya Bachchan and Hema Malini.
