The atmosphere reached massive excitement as attendees raced up and down a track outside the store, while fans screamed ecstatically.

All the doors at the new outlet were opened for crowds to enter in along the entire length of the new shop.
In a statement issued after the chaotic scenes this morning, a spokesperson for the Trafford Centre said: "There was a lot of excitement moments after the store officially opened, and we did see a small section of the crowd move quickly into the store.
"Our officers were on hand to manage this, and we are pleased that everyone was able to enjoy the launch safely."
After a 10 second countdown to the opening the crowd surged forward with one group seen running into the store, with others piling in behind them.
People at the front were propelled forward by those behind with the entire crowd, which appeared to be made up mostly of teenagers and children, piling into the store in what seemed like a matter of seconds.
Fortunately the store was large enough to accommodate the enormous influx of visitors.
The Trafford Centre spokesperson added: 'The JD launch was incredibly popular this morning, and we had robust plans in place to ensure the health and safety of everyone, which is always our absolute priority.
"We reactively restricted numbers to the area, had barriers in place, and deployed significant numbers of extra security staff and police officers to ensure crowd safety.
"We'd like to reassure everyone that events of this size are always planned rigorously, with contingencies in place, and health and safety is always at the forefront of all our plans.'

Report – Inter Milan Inquire About £40M Rated Man United & England Star
Inter Milan have reportedly inquired about the availability of out-of-favour Man United striker Marcus Rashford. This according to UK outlet Manchester Evening News. They report, however, that any deal would have to be on loan, and that the Englishman's wages could pose a problem. Advertisement Inter Milan have been in talks with Manchester United in recent weeks. Initially, the Nerazzurri had shown an interest in signing Red Devils striker Joshua Zirkzee. However, they then turned their attention to another former Serie A forward, Rasmus Hojlund. By all accounts, Hojlund is a top target for the Nerazzurri in attack this summer. However, reports Manchester Evening News, there's yet another United striker who Inter have also sounded out a move for. Inter Inquire About Man United Striker Marcus Rashford SOUTHAMPTON, ENGLAND – APRIL 12: Marcus Rashford of Aston Villa during the Premier League match between Southampton FC and Aston Villa FC at St Mary's Stadium on April 12, 2025 in Southampton, England. (Photo by) According to Manchester Evening News, the Nerazzurri asked United about the availability of Marcus Rashford this summer. Advertisement There is certainly little doubt that the Europa League finalists will aim to offload the 27-year-old this summer. Rashford had spent the second half of last season on loan with Aston Villa. And he is still not in the plans of Manchester United coach Ruben Amorim. Manchester Evening News report that United are resigned to the fact that they'll likely have to loan Rashford out this summer, rather than selling him outright. The outlet anticipate that the Red Devils value Rashford at around £40 million. Inter have sounded out whether there would be scope for a loan deal in their talks with United. One issue for the Nerazzurri would be Rashford's wages, however. The England international earns £325,000 net per week at Old Trafford.

Alfred scorches Diamond League 100m in Oslo
Olympic champion Julien Alfred coasted to victory in the women's 100m in the Oslo Diamond League on Thursday. Alfred made history at the Olympics last summer when she won a first ever medal for her tiny island homeland of Saint Lucia. Advertisement She was in a different class in the Norwegian capital, clocking 10.89 seconds for the victory in front of a 15,000 sell-out crowd at the Bislett Stadium. Jamaican sprint legend Usain Bolt, making his first return to Oslo since his retirement in 2017, presented a grinning Alfred with a bouquet of flowers as she made a winning start to her Diamond League title defence. "It was my first race of the season so I was a little rusty, but I got the win under my belt which is the main thing," said Alfred. "And I got to meet Usain Bolt -- yesterday for the first time ever and then two days running I got to meet him again! Advertisement "It is a great honour to have met him." Ivorian veteran Marie-Josee Ta Lou-Smith finished second in 11.00sec, with Britain's Dina Asher-Smith rounding out the podium (11.08). "For the race itself I just wanted to be competititive," added Alfred. "I head to Stockholm now so I have to rest and travel and compete again quickly but I will go to win again. "As for my season I am Olympic champion so I am the one to beat but I really want to add world champion to my name as well as Olympic champion." - 'Feel young' - Ta Lou-Smith was left delighted with her second place as she continues to bounce back from the disappointment of the Paris Olympics when she finished eighth in th 100m with an injury that saw her miss the 200m. Advertisement "It was really quick. I am glad to be standing here, back after what happened at the Olympics," she said. "I am happy to be able to get back in shape. I am happy to finish the race -- no injury, nothing, so me and my coach, we will take the chance at the world champs in Tokyo in September." "I hope to be ready. I feel good, I feel young, so everything is open," said the 36-year-old who won double world sprint silver in London in 2017 and a 100m bronze two years later in Doha. Asher-Smith expressed her disappointment at not winning, but said things were well on track in what is a long season. Advertisement "I feel great -- I have been training really well and I'm healthy so I'm really happy to be here," the Briton said. "I did something different this year by opening with some 400s and now, I'm focusing on my speedwork. "The Stockholm Diamond League is next -- I plan to run faster and this year is obviously all about the world championships in Tokyo -- the aim of course is to make the 100m and 200m finals, and I do believe I can run really well and get into the medals." lp/jc
