In the movie, Reynolds stars as Hal Jordan / Green Lantern, a test pilot who is selected to become the first human member of the
Green Lantern
Corps, an intergalactic police force. He said that it was a learning experience for him.
"I learned all the most amazing lessons I could ever have in the creative space from that movie," he said, adding, "On that film I saw a lot of money being spent on special effects, all sorts of stuff.
And I remember suggesting, 'Why we don't we write like a scene the way people would talk? I don't know, it could be a fun exchange of dialogue that all doesn't cost anything?'," according to The Hollywood Reporter.
He said he takes the "lesson" of "character over spectacle" particularly to heart.
He was sharing his experience during the 2025 Time 100 Summit. He discussed his film and TV studio,
Maximum Effort
, and how his journey working as an actor led to his career as an entrepreneur.
He shared, "The greatest superpower I ever had in my life, I'm not saying about just my career or anything, was knowing who I am," as per the outlet.
Maximum Effort has worked on films like
Deadpool
movies, Free Guy, IF, Shotgun Wedding and more.
'Deadpool & Wolverine', which hit theatres in July 2024, is now the top-grossing R-rated film of all time.
Reynolds also discussed the possibility of Deadpool appearing in an upcoming Avengers film, specifically whether the audience could see his famed superhero make an appearance as a supporting character.

Reynolds said, "I do," before pivoting to his experience making the Deadpool films after the character was poorly received in 2009's X-Men Origins: Wolverine. The whole movie was an allegory for Disney buying Fox. I pitched 18 different movies to them," he said, as per The Hollywood Reporter.
"I was really grateful to get to tell a story, to see people like the characters that we made with Wesley Snipes, who should have a third act in this moment.
... That feeling of gasp ... it's a feeling that I just want more of. And I think I would be able to do that as a supporting actor," he added.
Reynolds then teased an upcoming project, "I'm writing a little something right now that is an ensemble," according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Seth Rogen eyes Vin Diesel for 'The Studio' season 2

Seth Rogen , the co-creator and star of the hit series ' The Studio ,' has expressed his desire to have Vin Diesel join the show's second season. In a recent appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, Rogen discussed the show's renewal and his enthusiasm for potential guest stars. 'The Studio' has already made a significant impact with its first season, featuring many celebrity cameos, including Charlize Theron, Martin Scorsese, and Zac Efron. The show revolves around Matt Remick, a studio head, and Rogen's character plays a central role in the series. When asked about potential guest stars for season two, Rogen mentioned Vin Diesel as one of the actors he would love to work with. "I think Vin Diesel would be very funny and fun to work with, mostly because if you think about it, he's only in those Fast & Furious movies," Rogen said, as quoted by The Hollywood Reporter. He added that seeing Diesel outside of his iconic role as Dominic Toretto would be exciting, given his strong association with the franchise. Rogen took the opportunity to extend an invitation to Diesel directly during the interview, joking about Diesel's alleged habit of watching Jimmy Kimmel Live! regularly. "I assume you're watching this as you do every night. I assume you're watching it while driving like a 65 Pontiac. If you would please consider, maybe we can organise a Zoom -- and I'll capture your baldness on a hard drive," Rogen said, as quoted by The Hollywood Reporter. With the show's renewal for a second season, fans can expect more celebrity cameos and engaging storylines.

Spider-Man' Actor Jack Betts Dies At 96

Los Angeles: Veteran actor Jack Betts, best known for his role in 'Spider-Man', has died. He was 96. As per Bett's nephew, Dean Sullivan, Hollywood actor breathed his last on Thursday at home in Los Osos, California, The Hollywood Reporter reported. A member of The Actors Studio, Betts portrayed Llanview Hospital doctor Ivan Kipling on ABC's One Life to Live from 1979-85, and his soap opera resume also included stints on General Hospital, The Edge of Night, The Doctors, Another World, All My Children, Search for Tomorrow, Guiding Light, Loving and Generations. Betts bluffed his way into starring as the avenging title character in Franco Giraldi's Sugar Colt (1966), where he was billed as Hunt Powers for the first time. The film kicked off a run of about 15 spaghetti Westerns for him through 1973 but left him without the fame enjoyed by another American star of similar Italian fare. He made his big-screen debut in The Bloody Brood (1959), starring Peter Falk, then joined Anthony George, Sebastian Cabot and Doug McClure in 1961 to play detective Chris Devlin on the second and last season of CBS' Checkmate, created by Eric Ambler. Betts appeared four times on CBS' Perry Mason from 1961-66 before he met Giraldi about starring in Sugar Colt. He told the director that he could ride a horse and had just won a shooting contest -- of course, he had never been on a horse or handled a gun -- but he spent the next three weeks learning those skills at John Wayne's ranch before reporting for duty at Cinecitta in Rome. He is survived by his nephew Dean, his nieces, Lynne and Gail, and his sister, Joan.
