POTC: Trinidad James Explains Why He's No One-Hit Wonder
Source: Reach Media / Urban One
Being called a one-hit wonder isn't quite the insult that people make it out to be when you think about it. Imagine being so good in the art of making music that you only need to do it once in order to solidify your legacy — one single song that leads to a lifetime of lucrative opportunities if you've really got a banger on your hands.

ATL native Trinidad James knows exactly what that feels like following the decade-spanning success of his 2012 debut single, 'All Gold Everything.' Officially released just five days before Christmas that year, the Southern trap hit has gone on to be a gift that keeps on giving for James thanks to its Top 40 status on the charts and an interpolated sample two years later on Mark Ronson and Bruno Mars' 2014 worldwide number 1 smash, 'Uptown Funk,' that reportedly paid out with over $150,000 in royalties.

Sure, the debut album under his multimillion-dollar deal with Def Jam never panned out, and we never really got anything that matched up to the hype of 'All Gold Everything.' Nonetheless, Trinidad James has extended his 15 minutes of fame into a lifestyle that also includes songwriting for others, the media world as co-host of Complex's Full Size Run and even a budding acting career (see: Uncut Gems ). The multifaceted creative joined us here at Posted On The Corner to remind both his city and the world at hand that he's always been a star and, by the moves he's making in 2025, probably will always be one. NFL legend calls LeBron James 'the greatest ever'
LeBron James treated sports fans to a special event in New York City on Saturday. At Fanatics Fest, which was held at the Javitz Center, he hosted live versions of "The Shop" and the "Mind the Game" podcast. For "The Shop," he was joined on stage by legendary NFL quarterback Tom Brady. Brady retired following the 2022 season, and he is considered by most to be the greatest player, or at least the greatest QB, in the history of football. Brady appeared to glaze James a bit when he referred to the Los Angeles Lakers superstar as "the greatest ever." 'You're witnessing the greatest ever and I hope you all appreciate that,' Brady said. The debate about where exactly James belongs on the list of the greatest players in NBA history rages on, but his accomplishments speak for themselves. He became the league's all-time leading career scorer two years ago and is now at 42,184 regular-season points and 50,473 points in the regular season and playoffs combined. He has won four NBA championships (although he has lost six times in the NBA Finals), has won four league MVP awards and is one of a handful of players who have at least one scoring title and one assists title. James has a player option for next season. The 40-year-old is expected to play at least one more season in the league, and what he does beyond that is anyone's best guess at this point.

LeBron James jokes that Victor Wembanyama will hasten his retirement
On Saturday, a special episode of LeBron James' show "The Shop" was recorded at Fanatics Fest in New York City. Joining James before a live crowd was 21-year-old San Antonio Spurs superstar center Victor Wembanyama. At one point, James cracked a joke about Wembanyama's incredible shot-blocking abilities and the French native's 7-foot-3 frame. He said that Wembanyama swatting his shots will make him call it quits. 'I can't play that much further… As long as Wemby keeps smacking my [expletive] shots into the stands, it's gonna make me retire.' Wembanyama entered the NBA as the No. 1 pick in the 2023 draft, and he was the most hyped rookie to come into the league since James was a rookie during the 2003-04 season. He quickly lived up to the hype, and this season, he averaged 24.3 points, 11.0 rebounds and a league-high 3.8 blocks a game before a blood clot cut his year short after 46 games. The Spurs haven't made the playoffs since 2019, but with Wembanyama, star guard De'Aaron Fox and Rookie of the Year Stephon Castle, as well as the possibility of at least one big move this summer, they could very well become a powerhouse very soon. At the very least, Wembanyama is already a nightmare to play against because of his shot-blocking, and his offensive game is still fairly rudimentary at this point in his career.
