Amid rising India-Pakistan tensions and Operation Sindoor, Rhea Chakraborty shares a deeply personal tribute to the Indian Armed Forces.
As India-Pakistan tensions escalate following Operation Sindoor—India's retaliatory strikes on terror camps across the border—actor Rhea Chakraborty has shared a moving tribute on Instagram, honouring the Indian Armed Forces through the deeply personal lens of her own upbringing as a soldier's daughter.
In her emotional note titled 'From a Fauji Daughter…", Rhea reflected on growing up in a military household, where strength is silent and patriotism runs deep. Her father, Indrajit Chakraborty, is a retired Indian Army officer, and the post offers an intimate glimpse into the life of families who quietly carry the weight of sacrifice.
'I grew up watching my dad wear his uniform like second skin – calm, proud, ready. And I grew up watching my mom hold back tears like a soldier too," she wrote, accompanied by A.R. Rahman's iconic 'Maa Tujhe Salaam."
Rhea acknowledged the unique emotional burden of fauji families, 'That love often looks like distance. That pride quietly holds hands with fear." She added, 'Today, I sleep safely in my home because someone else's father, mother, brother, or sister is out there—standing at the border, standing tall."
Addressing fellow military families across India, she wrote, 'To every Army, Navy, and Airforce family waiting, hoping, praying—I see you. I feel you. I stand with you." She concluded with a resonant message: 'From one fauji home to another… sending love, strength, and a salute. Jai Hind."
Her post comes just days after India launched Operation Sindoor, a targeted mission that neutralized nine terror launchpads in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir, in direct response to the Pahalgam terror attack that killed 26 people. In retaliation, Pakistan carried out multiple drone attacks and ceasefire violations along the LoC on the night of May 8–9, which were effectively intercepted by the Indian Army.
'The Indian Army remains committed to safeguarding the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the nation," the Army said in a statement.
On the work front, Rhea Chakraborty is currently one of the gang leaders on MTV Roadies XX, marking a confident and heartfelt return to the public eye.

Sardaar Ji 3, set to release globally on June 27, was embroiled in a controversy over the casting. The Pahalgam terror attack raised tensions between India and Pakistan, triggering a ban on Pakistani artists working in India. The Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) urged the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) to deny certification to the film as the movie's cast members also included Pakistani actors Hania Aamir, Nasir Chinyoti, Daniel Khawar and Saleem Albela. As a result, the makers decided to skip the film's theatrical release in India. Sardaar Ji 3 will now only be released overseas on June 27, 2025. Hania Aamir's Instagram account was also blocked in India after the terror attack in Pahalgam in April 2025. The actress was criticised for making anti-India remarks following Operation Sindoor.
