Bella Hadid Shares Her Dream To Open A Palestinian Restaurant With Her Dad
Photo: Getty
Bella Hadid is never one to shy away from talking about her heritage – and it was no different for her recent appearance on Chicken Shop Date.
Sitting down with journalist and host Amelia Dimoldenberg, between the awkward flirting and spicy dips the satirical show is known for, Bella gave a sweet and heartfelt nod to her Palestinian roots — through food, of course.
The supermodel opened up about growing up in a half-Dutch, half-Palestinian household – her mother Yolanda Hadid is from the Netherlands and her father, Mohamed Hadid is from Palestine, where he had to flee during the Nakba in 1948.
When Amelia asked which parent was the better cook, Bella didn't hesitate in her reply: 'My dad.'
'Growing up, it would be like spreads of just like most… he doesn't cook for four people. If anybody that's Arab knows, Arab parents cook for 50 people,' she explained.
She went on to reflect on how much her father's cooking means to her.
'That's the most beautiful part about my dad,' she said. 'My dream for him, always, would be to open a restaurant… take care of his heritage and, like, you know, the legacy of who we are as people and what our food is to the world.'
Throughout the years, Bella has continuously embraced her Palestinian heritage and also been one of the most high profile celebrities speaking up for the ongoing Israeli bombardment of Gaza. Photo: Getty
Just recently, the 28-year-old stepped out in Paris, where she was greeted by fans and fellow Palestinians who were chanting 'Free Palestine'.
The moment was caught on camera and posted on TikTok, where the Orebella founder was given a Palestinian flag, and with much passion, she waved it proudly.
'It's part of culture; thank you for giving the flag–I would give my shirt!' she humorously said in TikTok while sharing examples of how her father, Mohamed Hadid, raised her to give gifts.
But let's pause for a moment and reflect back on a joint restaurant run by Bella and her dad? Yes, please.
Bella, if you're reading this – we'd like a reservation for two.

Due West: Bella Hadid Shows Off Her Equine Skills In Style
Bella Hadid attends the 'Window To The West' series premiere at Kemo Sabe Pop-Up on September 12, 2024 in New York City. (Photo) Bella Hadid is the à la mode horse girl—something we didn't know we needed until now. This weekend, the model competed in a Las Vegas horse cutting competition; a skill which involves the rider cutting off a cow from its herd and keeping it from returning for two and a half minutes. Her outfit, both practical for the sport, yet in keeping with her now well-known rodeo style, included a black and white flannel button-up tucked into classic blue flared jeans, and a silver buckled brown belt to tie it all in. Over the jeans, she wore light brown chaps with fringe detailing, as well as a white straw cowboy hat over a slick ponytail. See the outfit here. (Photo byfor Teton Ridge) Her western sartorial choices have been drawing attention for some time now, and she has given us apt inspiration for our own rodeo-inspired looks. However, in this case, she isn't just modelling the clothes, she's living her best cowgirl life too. The supermodel has been involved with equestrianism since she was young, with her passion for all things horses only growing once she began dating rodeo star Adan Banuelos. Hadid and Banuelos even brought horseback riding and matching western outfits to New York Fashion Week last year, right in the middle of downtown Manhattan. NEW YORK, NEW YORK – SEPTEMBER 12: Adan Banuelos and Bella Hadid attend the 'Window To The West' series premiere at Kemo Sabe Pop-Up on September 12, 2024 in New York City. (Photo) In December of 2024, she took to Instagram to pen a heartfelt post detailing how Banuelos helped her embrace her love of horses and regain her confidence riding. 'Being able to try new things and reach new goals, especially on horses again, has been the biggest joy of my life. I thank God every day for horses.' She went on to shout out her cowboy, explaining, 'Adan always had faith in me, from the first day we rode together, which gave me confidence and faith in myself again. I couldn't have done it without him!' Adan Banuelos and Bella Hadid are seen in the Meatpacking District on September 12, 2024 in New York City.
