Best value - Mike Green
A projected top 20 pick slid down the board to Round 2, pick 59. Rookie outside linebacker Mike Green called it a 'blessing in disguise' that he ended up with the Baltimore Ravens, an organization with a rich defensive tradition. Green, who led the FBS last year with 17 sacks to go along with 23 tackles for loss while starring for Marshall, was widely considered one of the top pass rushers in the draft.
Sleeper pick - LaJohntay Wester
While he could struggle to earn snaps on offense, the Ravens addressed their most under-the-radar need in return specialist LaJohntay Wester. The Ravens struggled in punt return last season, ranking 16th with a 9.7-yard average and using four different players. Wester is a speedy returner who averaged 12.2 yards on punts last season at Colorado, including a 76-yard touchdown. At the Shrine Bowl, his acceleration was clocked at 6.2 yards per second squared, making him the second-fastest on offense since the Shrine Bowl partnered with Zebra Sports. Wester has a connection with Baltimore, playing under Ravens running back coach Willie Taggart at Florida Atlantic.
Head-scratching pick -Carson Vinson
Baltimore selected offensive tackle Carson Vinson out of Alabama A&M in the fifth round, after they had already selected another developmental offensive lineman in Emery Jones Jr. Offensive line depth has been a concern, and the Ravens went with Vinson, who played at the FCS level and competed against lesser competition. His Senior Bowl tape is solid, but Baltiomre could have potentially added another defender.

Head coach John Harbaugh said the call at kicker will be 'football decision', but The Ravens' brass has been adamant in recent months in saying they'd follow the lead of the NFL's investigation before deciding on the future of kicker Justin Tucker, who 16 Baltimore-area massage therapists have accused of inappropriate sexual conduct as part of an investigation by The Baltimore Banner.
Baltimore used a sixth-round pick on Arizona's Tyler Loop, the first kicker drafted in the organization's 30-year history.

There was a time when summer practices in the NFL were brutal, and coaches were taskmasters. McVay represents a new generation of coaches who see the summer as a time to build camaraderie and make sure players are taking care of their bodies so they're healthy when the season starts. That buys him plenty of goodwill with his players.

He then transitioned into talking about the younger Manning's upcoming year. "The fact that this will be Arch's third year in that system, he'll have great knowledge of the system – still hasn't had on-the-field game reps as I'm sure he would have liked, but those will come this year," Manning said. "There will be things for him to learn, but I'm proud of him for his commitment and I'm looking forward to watching him play." No two NFL stars are the same though many share recognizable qualities and common ideas. It doesn't matter if they play for the New York Giants or someone else. All want to get paid. All hope they'll one day be remembered among the greats when their playing days are over. The 'alphas' often think about their legacy. How will they be remembered? Have they set their family up for financial success? How many more years of pain can they squeeze out of those weary and battered bodies? Come to think of it, these guys may be more alike in their makeup than most may have thought. And, they work their hind parts off for that respect because if their peers, opponents, and teammates respect them that's truly all that matters. All of that has been said to say this. The Giants are snubbed from ESPN's All Quarter Century Team (minus a practice team addition) It's hard to argue with the brilliance and creativity. ESPN dropped some quality content as Aaron Schatz and Seth Wilder cooked up one heck of a write-up in their NFL All Quarter Century team. There's only one problem. There are no New York Giants on the roster! That is, unless you include Michael Strahan's mention as a practice squad member. Okay, so it's been a rough go these past few seasons with Brian Daboll at the helm despite the postseason appearance his team produced in his first season as head coach. Truth be told, we can probably chalk that up to some bad moves by Joe Schoen and the front office. Sure, this team has been bad or mediocre more often than they have impressed us over the past quarter century, but this team has had some talent. What about Michael Strahan? Can we at least bump him up to the active roster? What about Eli Manning? He's 2-0 vs. the QB1, Tom Brady, on the Super Bowl stage. No one wants Eli on the squad, huh? Well, goodness gracious. Do we give the G-Men a nod because he was once Big Blue's defensive coordinator? No? You guys aren't rolling with that either, huh? Oh well... It will take another 25 years to get there, but at this point, Giants fans and the media have to hope for something.
