' I couldn't walk until..': Terron Armstead reveals why NFL players hide their pain and play injured every week (Image via Getty)
Terron Armstead spent 12 hard years in the NFL playing for the New Orleans Saints and Miami Dolphins. This fall, for the first time since he was five years old, he will not be suiting up.
Now retired, this man is trying to talk about how difficult it was to go through the injuries. He has a dual ambition to not only tell his own story but also represent others who are still going through this in silence. He spoke at an event the other day, and he detailed just how rough the process was prior to his decision to retire.
Terron Armstead shares painful reason behind his
NFL retirement
On Friday, June 21, 2025, at Fanatics Fest, Terron Armstead spoke to Fox News Digital about why he chose to retire now.
He explained that he has dealt with a serious knee injury since his third NFL season.
'After a game on Sunday, I couldn't walk until Wednesday or Thursday,'
Terron Armstead said.
'I could only play with pain meds. I couldn't put any pressure on my knee.'
During the 2023–24 season with the Miami Dolphins, he said he didn't attend a single practice, not because he wanted rest, but because his body couldn't handle it.
Terron Armstead also appeared on The Nightcap Show, where he said, 'I think I'm done.
I'm at peace with it. I'm excited to be on this side now and talk about the game.'
Terron Armstead now wants to help other injured players still in the NFL
Even though he's retired, Terron Armstead is not walking away from football completely. He now wants to speak out for other NFL players who are battling injuries but can't say much publicly.
'There are players still playing who deal with this every day,' he said. 'They can't speak about it because no one wants to hear excuses before a game.'
Terron Armstead knows what it takes to push through to the next week when there is a standard or commitment from fans and coaches to play at a high level week in and week out. He hopes that in sharing his own experiences, people will feel less alone, and receive more help.

NHL trade rumor: Three NHL contracts likely headed for a buyout as teams reconsider costly misfires this summer
Justin Holl #3 of the Detroit Red Wings (Credit: Getty Images) Justin Holl's deal with the Detroit Red Wings raised eyebrows from the start. Signed to a three-year contract with a $3.4 million cap hit, Holl has not lived up to expectations. In two seasons, the defenseman has managed just two goals and eleven assists while remaining a defensive liability more often than not. Despite a better finish to last season, it appears not enough to justify his spot or his salary. 2025 NHL Buyout Candidates - TOP 10 Players Facing Contract Buyouts Matt Dumba falling out of favor in Dallas Stars lineup Matt Dumba's situation with the Dallas Stars is just as uncertain. Brought in on a two-year deal worth $3.75 million annually, Dumba has failed to deliver the spark the Stars hoped for. His production was modest at best, with one goal and nine assists across 63 regular season games. More telling, however, was his complete absence from the lineup during the team's playoff run. The Stars advanced to the Western Conference Final but benched Dumba throughout, clearly signaling their lack of trust. A buyout would reduce his cap hit to $1.41 million, freeing up over $2 million in space next season and softening the blow the following year with just a $1.16 million penalty. For a cap-tight team trying to stay competitive in the West, moving on from Dumba makes both hockey and financial sense. Philipp Grubauer's struggles put the Kraken in a tough spot Philipp Grubauer's time with the Seattle Kraken has been a turbulent ride. Signed as a top-tier goaltender, his performance has dipped consistently, reaching a low point last season with a 3.49 goals against average and a .875 save percentage over 26 games. At a $5.9 million cap hit for two more years, his contract is one of the most burdensome in the league. With the June 30 deadline looming, general managers across the league are running out of time. For Holl, Dumba, and Grubauer, the writing may already be on the wall. India vs England Test: 'Tactics were unusual' - Michael Atherton hammers Ben Stokes, rues decision made by England skipper
Ben Stokes reacts during day four of the 1st Rothesay Test Match between England and India (Image by) England's approach on Day 4 of the first Test at Headingley has come under sharp criticism from former skipper Michael Atherton , who questioned Ben Stokes ' defensive tactics against India's KL Rahul and Rishabh Pant. The duo's commanding 195-run partnership turned the game firmly in India's favour and left England's bowlers searching for answers. Rahul's measured 137 off 347 deliveries combined with Pant's counterattacking 118 off just 140 balls piled on the pressure. Despite the conditions and Headingley's reputation for slip catches, Stokes opted to remove catchers behind the wicket during a crucial phase - a move Atherton found baffling. 'England's tactics were unusual at the start of the second session as Stokes went quite defensive, and there were no slips in place. The vast majority of wickets at Headingley come in the slips, and there weren't any when Pant edged two. India pressed the accelerator after that and put the hammer down,' Atherton said on Sky Sports. Rahul's technical discipline and Pant's fearless strokeplay enthralled the Headingley crowd and left England's inexperienced attack exposed. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like local network access control Esseps Learn More Undo Former India coach Ravi Shastri lauded the pair's contrasting brilliance but admitted Pant's relentless charge gave India an unusual problem — when to declare. Jasprit Bumrah press conference: Lashes out at critics, dropped catches and no balls 'Pant has taken the game forward. He has given India a headache in terms of when should they declare and how many runs do they get. There is plenty of food for thought, but India will be very happy after a technical masterpiece from Rahul and the flamboyance and exuberance that you can't imagine from Pant,' Shastri remarked. Poll Do you agree with Michael Atherton's criticism of Ben Stokes' defensive tactics? Yes, I think Stokes was too defensive. No, I believe it was a strategic choice. Pant's smashing innings was ended Shoaib Bashir, who tempted him into a miscue and was caught by Zak Crawley. Rahul followed soon after, bowled off an inside edge while attempting to cut a ball that bounced extra. LeBron James' RM 65-01 'King James' looks wild on the surface but wait till you see what it can do
(Image Source - Getty Images) LeBron James is no stranger to breaking molds, and his latest move proves it again. The RM 65-01 'King James' watch, unveiled in New York, is bursting with color and confidence. But look closer, and you'll find this collaboration is anything but superficial. Packed with one of Richard Mille's most intricate movements, this piece takes performance—and storytelling—to a whole new level. Richard Mille combines Lakers flair and precision engineering in the RM 65-01 King James edition LeBron's RM 65-01 "King James" is a splash of bright Lakers yellow, purple, green, and icy-blue highlights—yet its design has deeper origins. Set in carbon TPT with a Quartz TPT center case, it displays his signature logo at 12 o'clock and features a neon-pink engraving on the caseback that reads 001/150. This piece was introduced at Fanatics Fest in New York, where LeBron teased its arrival with 'Had to debut this special Richard Mille piece … 01/150!'. On the outside, the RM 65-01 appears to be a supercar dashboard—and it really is. Underneath the dazzling zircon, you'll find a split-seconds chronograph along with a highly advanced automatic movement—one of Richard Mille's most complicated creations to date. The durable carbon case and TPT materials aren't just for looks—they're made to withstand harsh conditions. This timepiece is not just a status symbol; it functions like a high-performing athlete: precise, strong, and engineered for excellence. LeBron has joined a prestigious lineup—Rafael Nadal, Lewis Hamilton, Charles Leclerc—who have all embraced RM's high-performance mindset. This is actually LeBron's first collaboration with RM since his 2013 Royal Oak Offshore with Audemars Piguet, a watch that played a key role in establishing his cultural significance in luxury timepieces. Now, in 2025, he's making a comeback with a collaboration that showcases his athletic excellence and mechanical flair. The RM 65-01 "King James" stands out as more than a collector's item—it's a powerful statement. Priced at about $450,000 and limited to just 150 pieces, its rarity, remarkable technical achievements, and lively LeBron branding put it in a league of its own among the most audacious watchmaking endeavors. Whether you appreciate its hue, engineering, or heritage, this watch represents a fresh chapter: LeBron is not merely in luxury, but is redefining it. The RM 65-01 "King James" by LeBron is not just about making it clear that he is a proud Laker, but it is also about making the borders of grand horology. Having the best materials, an intense movement as well as a mere 150 pieces that have been produced, this watch is made to handle strain under pressure just like GMT Hamilton.
