Wedding belle for young Hawthorn star Harry Morrison after heartwarming proposal

Daily Mail9 hours ago

The AFL season is reaching the business end, but one Hawthorn star already has plenty to celebrate.
Young Hawks star Harry Morrison has announced on social media that he is getting married to long-term girlfriend Olivia Higgins.
Morrison proposed to his beau on the beach, the couple pictured sharing a touching embrace after she said yes.
'The Next Chapter,' the couple posted to Instagram.
Hawthorn teammates including Jarman Impey, Massimo D'Ambrosio, Conor Nash, Mabior Chol, Jai Newcombe and captain James Sicily were quick to offer their congratulations.
'Epic,' Jack Ginnivan posted with a heart emoji.
'Magical!' added Lloyd Meek.
New recruit Josh Battle also congratulated the pair, commenting: 'So good. Congratulations.'
Morrison, born in Benalla, Victoria in 1998, began his football journey with the Murray Bushrangers in the TAC Cup.
Despite suffering an ACL injury in 2014, he returned strongly the following year and helped the Benalla Saints secure back-to-back premierships.
In 2016, he was a standout in the TAC Cup Grand Final, which led to Hawthorn selecting him with pick 74 in the national draft.
Morrison made his AFL debut in Round 23, 2017, against the Western Bulldogs.
The following season, he became a regular on Hawthorn's half-back flank, played 21 games, and earned a Rising Star nomination in Round 20 before suffering a broken jaw.
Over the next few years, he developed into a reliable wingman, reaching a career-best average of 19.2 disposals per game in 2022 and securing a contract extension through 2024.
In 2024, he maintained his form with strong performances across 12 games, including finals, which led to another two-year deal keeping him at the club until the end of 2026.
By mid-2025, Morrison had reached 117 AFL games and kicked 28 goals and has become a trusted figure in Hawthorn's evolving lineup.

Australia's Super Netball goes global in deal with Whoopi Goldberg's AWSN

SYDNEY, June 20 (Reuters) - Australia's Super Netball league will be broadcast to more than 65 countries over the next three years after Netball Australia struck a deal with Whoopi Goldberg's All Women's Sports Network (AWSN), the governing body said on Friday. Netball, one of a few sports created exclusively for women and girls, is the most popular participation sport for females in Australia with Netball Australia estimating there are up to a million players across the country. The professional Super Netball league, which was launched in 2017, has eight teams and 41 of its games, including the playoffs and finals, will now be broadcast on AWSN. "This breakthrough deal puts netball on screens across the globe and cements our place at the forefront of women's sport," Netball Australia chief executive Stacey West said in a statement. "AWSN shares our vision of taking women's sport to new heights. Together, we're creating a platform for our athletes and game to shine like never before." Co-founded by Oscar-winning actor and comedian Goldberg, AWSN was launched late last year as the first global media channel dedicated exclusively to showcasing women's sports. "I am so proud to be thanking you for joining us on AWSN," Goldberg said in a video message to Super Netball released by Netball Australia. "I see that your fans are really loving you, so we want to make sure that we put you everywhere in the world so that everybody knows about you."

Bodybuilder Sergio Taranto lists lavish semi-rural mansion in Victoria for $7m

Bodybuilder Sergio Taranto has reportedly listed his resort-style mansion in Victoria's Yarra Ranges for sale. Located in leafy Lysterfield, 32km from Melbourne, the five-bedroom, five-bathroom ultra-modern pad has a price guide of $6,500,000 to $7,150,000. Built on top of a hill in the sought-after Carrington Estate development, the sprawling two-storey home offers a commanding view of the surrounding bushland. The sales agent responsible did not confirm Taranto as the owner of the 5,928 square metre property, reported the Herald Sun on Friday. However, the publication said documents for the massive architect-designed home confirm the well-known personal trainer as the owner. From A-list scandals and red carpet mishaps to exclusive pictures and viral moments, subscribe to the DailyMail's new showbiz newsletter to stay in the loop. Constructed on what was once a cow paddock, the steel and glass home features soaring ceilings and dramatic design features, including a Lucretia crystal chandelier. Highlights include a second storey undercover alfresco dining and relaxation space. There's also a second alfresco space on the ground floor with built-in BBQ and adjoining courtyard. Other features include a home theatre with luxurious cinema seating, a gym and an indoor pool and spa. Meanwhile, the massive main bedroom occupies an entire wing of the upper floor and includes an ensuite and a dressing room with two walls of wardrobes. For added luxury, the main suite is host to a drop-down TV, a drinks station and a freestanding bath. Also featured on the top storey is a 'retreat' space and a balcony which spans the entire floor. Elsewhere, the kitchen offers a dual-island with 'waterfall' benches, granite sinks, and a large butler's pantry with a second kitchen. Buyers are likely to be drawn to Taranto's listing since the Carrington Estate is known for its up-scale homes which rarely hit the market. Situated in sight of the famed Dandenong Ranges, the ritzy neighbourhood offers underground power and large nature strips. As an added touch of charm, developers have installed 'heritage' street lamps. Best known as a men's health specialist, Taranto has competed in the International Federation of Bodybuilding and Fitness Championships (IFFB). In 2014, he scored second in the IFBB Sydney competition in the Open Super Heavyweight event. He achieved the same result in Perth a year later for the National Physique Committee (NPC) tournament in the Classic Physique Masters competition. Taranto also launched a YouTube channel offering health hacks, which has since been retired.

NRL star Keaon Koloamatangi displays his toughness to line up for Rabbitohs - just DAYS after fracturing eye socket

Wayne Bennett has lauded Keaon Koloamatangi's toughness as he prepares to line up for South Sydney less than a week after fracturing his eye socket. The rapid-fire return gives Koloamatangi two games to reassert his State of Origin credentials, after missing NSW 's trip to Perth for game two with the game-ending injury suffered against Canterbury on Sunday. Koloamatangi had originally been a member of NSW's extended squad for Origin II and appears to be the next cab off the rank if Laurie Daley wants to tweak his 17 for the decider on July 9 in Sydney. The forward comes in from the extended squad to face Melbourne on Saturday and will be joined in the team by star fullback Latrell Mitchell, who is backing up from NSW's two-point loss. The Storm have ruled winger Xavier Coates out of the game at Accor Stadium but are likely to have his Queensland teammates Harry Grant and Trent Loiero on deck after they flew direct to Sydney from Perth after Origin. Fellow Origin representatives Stefano Utoikamanu and Cam Munster flew back to Melbourne and are at longer odds to make the trip to Sydney to face Koloamatangi and the Rabbitohs. '(Koloamatangi) didn't need any surgery and the doctor's quite confident (the injury) won't be a problem to him. He's confident and he's happy so we'll go ahead and let him play,' said South Sydney coach Bennett. 'He's a bit like Jye Gray the other night with a broken thumb, (he) played the whole second half (against the Bulldogs). 'You can't question the toughness and the want to play for the club as well. 'The club's in a good place if players want to play and they've got injuries or getting back a little bit earlier. They work really hard.' The news is not so good for recruit Lewis Dodd, who had been named to come in from reserve grade for the injured Jayden Sullivan but will be replaced at five-eighth by Jack Wighton. The axing raises further questions as to Dodd's future at the Rabbitohs, who have only started him in the halves once since he was lured from England on a salary of more than $600,000. Saturday's game will be the 44th time Bennett has coached against Storm mentor Craig Bellamy, breaking the record for most match-ups for two coaches since the grand final era began in 1954. To keep their top-eight tilt on track, the 14th-placed Rabbitohs must snap Bellamy's impressive 14-game winning streak against Bennett coached sides. '(Bellamy's teams) all do their jobs, they're really good at that. Whatever role you've got in the team, they do it,' he said.
