Nellore: The Coordination Committee meeting headed by Endowments Minister Anam Ramanarayana Reddy on Saturday has stressed the need for coordination between various departments for making Sri Penusila Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy Brahmotsavams success. The nine-day event will be held from May 8 to 14 at Penchalakona village of Rapur mandal.
The Committee also decided to provide Laddu Prasadam to devotees at free of cost on the occasion of Garuda Seva and Kalyanostavam.
Speaking on the occasion, Minister Anam informed that for the first time, it was decided to provide Laddu Prasadam to devotees on Bangaru Garuda Seva and Kalyanam. He instructed the officials to provide drinking water, buttermilk, milk and biscuits to children waiting in queues.
Anam ordered police officials to install CCTV cameras and head count mission and Command Control Center to avoid any untoward incidents during the event.
Fire department officials were directed to make fire engine services available round-the-clock, to organise medical camps at temple premises and to keep ORS packets ready to distribute to devotees.
Venkatagiri MLA Kurugondla Ramakrishna and others were present.

New Delhi: The government has constituted a high level committee to investigate the Air India crash that killed 241 people on board. 'A High Level Multi-disciplinary Committee is constituted for examining the causes leading to the crash. The Committee will examine the existing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and guidelines issued to prevent and handle such occurrences and suggest comprehensive guidelines for dealing with such instances in the future,' an order issued by the civil aviation ministry read. Also Read: Air India crash site hit 1,000 deg C; lava-like temperature left little scope for escape 'The committee will have access to all records, including, among others, flight data, cockpit voice recorders, aircraft maintenance records, ATC Log and witness testimonies,' it stated, adding that the committee will publish its report within three months. It said that the Committee will be headed by the home secretary and will include representatives, not below the rank of joint secretary, from the state and central governments. Also Read: Couple killed in Air India crash had lost pilot son in earlier aviation tragedy 'The Committee will not be a substitute to other enquiries being conducted by relevant organisations but will focus on formulating SOPs for preventing and handling such occurrences in the future,' the order clarified. Stating the objective of constituting the committee, the order said that it was formed to ascertain the root cause of the crash. 'It will assess contributing factors, including mechanical failure, human error, weather conditions, regulatory compliances and other reasons,' the order read. These SOPs will also include international best practices regarding preventing and handling such incidents. The order issued at around 12.40am on Saturday said that the committee will assess emergency response of various stakeholders (both Central and State Governments), including rescue operations, and coordination among them. 'The Committee will examine existing guidelines regarding handling such incidents. and go through records of previous such aircraft crashes in the country,' it read. It also stated that it will also formulate a comprehensive SOP and suggest the roles of all agencies and organisations of the central and state governments to deal with post-crash incident handling and management. One of the roles of the committee will be to suggest policy changes, operational improvements and training enhancements required to prevent such occurrences and handle post-crash incident situations. As per the order, the Committee will consist of Home Secretary and secretary or joint secretary of the home affairs ministry, secretary of Civil aviation, representative from the Gujarat home department, representative from the state disaster response authority, police commissioner of Ahmedabad, the Director General (DG), Inspection and Safety of the Indian Air Force, DG of Bureau of Civil Aviation Security, DG of the aviation regulator- the Directorate General of Civil Aviation, special director of Intelligence Bureau (IB), Director of Directorate of Forensic Science Services. The order stated that the committee may also consist of any other member as deemed fit by the committee, including aviation experts, accident investigators and legal advisors may also be included by the committee. It will conduct site inspections, interview crew, Air Traffic Controllers (ATCOs) and relevant personnel. The government said that the committee will collaborate with international agencies if foreign nationals or aircraft manufacturers are involved.

DSC online exams begin smoothly in Tirupati

Tirupati: The District Selection Committee (DSC) online examinations commenced on Friday and will continue until June 30 across the district. On the first day, Tirupati District Collector Dr S Venkateswar inspected one of the examination centres – Annamacharya Institute of Technology, Venkatapuram, to ensure a smooth and fair conduct of the exams. During his visit, the Collector thoroughly reviewed the examination management and assessed the infrastructure provided for the candidates. He expressed satisfaction over the peaceful conduct of exams at all centres across the district. In view of the ongoing summer conditions, the Collector examined key facilities such as drinking water, medical camps, and basic amenities. He instructed officials to keep Oral Rehydration Solution (ORS) packets and emergency medicines readily available to provide immediate medical care if needed. To maintain transparency and uphold examination integrity, the Collector issued strict directions to the staff to prevent any malpractice. He was accompanied by District Education Officer (DEO) KVN Kumar during the inspection. According to the DEO, the DSC exams are being conducted at eight centres across the district. On the first day, exams were held at four centres in two shifts. In the morning session, 509 out of 573 registered candidates appeared, while in the afternoon shift, 508 out of 570 candidates attended. Meanwhile, the Telugu Nadu Students Federation (TNSF) extended support to the candidates by distributing buttermilk at the examination centres. TNSF Tirupati Parliament President Kotte Hemanth Royal, along with members Nanda Kishore, Gnanesh, Seenu, Aravind, Vishnu, and others, took part in the initiative. Speaking on the occasion, Hemanth applauded the NDA government's decision to fill 16,347 teacher posts through the DSC recruitment drive. He noted that this move would enable qualified candidates to begin working as government school teachers from the upcoming academic year, marking a significant step in strengthening the public education system.
