McLaren announced the occasion along with a statement from chief operating officer Piers Thynne.
"It's great for McLaren to be back at the Goodwood Festival of Speed. It's the perfect occasion to showcase our own heritage alongside our more recent achievements and to celebrate the 75th anniversary of Formula 1," Thynne said.
"30 years on from our victory at Le Mans, it's great to be able to have J.J. Lehto driving the F1 GTR, and it will be special to see Alain Prost drive his 1988 MP4/4.
"It's also fantastic to be able to run the MP4/2B to commemorate 40 years since Alain's first Drivers' Championship victory.
"It's an honor and a privilege to be given the opportunity to drive the M23-15 and showcase the team's hard work and talent.
"To be able to bring such a challenging project to life, involving such a wide range of team members across departments, is a special moment, and is a great way to recognize the team's first Championship win.
"We really enjoy being part of the Goodwood Festival of Speed, so we look forward to seeing it all come to life for another year."
Thynne is scheduled to drive the M23.
Goodwood is held in Chichester, England, on July 10 through July 13, holding a walk through memory lane for old and new fans alike.
What is Alain Prost driving?
Prost was the teammate of the legendary Ayrton Senna, one of the most iconic drivers of all time.
Both drivers drove the MP4/4 in 1988, which was the title-winning car that season. The car won 15 of 16 races, dominating the field unlike any car before.
Prost will drive the exact model he used to win at Monaco, France, and Mexico.
Nicholas and Shelley Schorsch of the Audrain Collection own the chassis of the car and are providing it for the special event.

Daniel Ricciardo Comes Out of ‘Retirement' to Launch a Business in Texas

Daniel Ricciardo Comes Out of 'Retirement' to Launch a Business in Texas originally appeared on Athlon Sports. Daniel Ricciardo is back but not in the way you'd expect. The Formula 1 fan favorite has traded the paddock for the parking lot, launching a bold new business venture: Dabble Dan's Tailgate Party in Austin, Texas. Advertisement Partnering with Australian betting company Dabble, Ricciardo is fronting a unique competition that will fly one lucky winner and a guest from any major UK airport to the United States for a full-blown American football weekend in September. The prize includes flights, three nights' accommodation, VIP tickets to the tailgate party, and a personal meet-and-greet with Ricciardo himself. 'I've given retirement a crack, but it's not for me,' Ricciardo announced on Instagram. 'So, I've teamed up with the legends at Dabble to start a tailgate business… Check it out at Daniel Ricciardo before the F1 Miami Grand Casey-Imagn Images In a video on the website, Ricciardo explained: 'Bit of golf, a bit of gardening, caught up on sleep… but then I got that itch. I missed the buzz. The energy, That's when it hit me—it was time I chased my true passion.' Advertisement The new project comes months after Ricciardo was officially dropped from F1 following the 2024 Singapore Grand Prix. His last stint with Racing Bulls (formerly AlphaTauri) failed to reignite his racing career after a challenging run with McLaren and a year as Red Bull's reserve driver. Whether this signals a permanent shift away from racing or just another Ricciardo-style detour remains to be seen. But one thing is clear—retirement for Dan isn't about slowing down. It's about firing up the grill, turning up the music, and turning parking lots into party zones. McDonald's menu adds new collaboration with surprising partner

If you think about it, adults are just grown-up children with more responsibilities. McDonald's is well aware of this fact, which is why it has created an entire brand that attracts people of all ages. Don't miss the move: Subscribe to TheStreet's free daily newsletter The fast-food giant uses nostalgia and affordability to engage the adult market and entices kids with its Happy Meal toys, kid-friendly food, and playgrounds. McDonald's has formed many collaborations to meet customers' needs. However, the chain's latest partnership is so epic that fans might have to tighten their seatbelts to keep from jumping out of their seats. Related: McDonald's menu adds new happy meal fans will love One thing adults and children have in common is that they love car races, whether in a video game or real life. They give kids the freedom they lack for 18 years and allow adults to relive childhood memories. Image source: Sharrett/Bloomberg via Getty Images Due to popular demand, McDonald's (MCD) has teamed up with Formula 1 to launch a new promotional meal for the upcoming "F1" movie to be released in theaters on June 27. F1 is the world's most prestigious motor racing competition and holds the number one spot in annual sporting events worldwide. The McDonald's x F1 meal includes a Quarter Pounder burger, medium fries, and a drink, all wrapped in F1-themed packaging. However, this latest collaboration is unlike any others, because customers will get one out of two exclusive collectible race cars with every purchase. Related: Disney and Mickey Mouse take on Formula 1 These F1-inspired toys are no joke; one of the race cars is a tiny replica of the APXGP Team Car that Brad Pitt drives in the movie, and the other is modeled after the real-life McDonald's F1 car, which makes them collectible worthy. Although both grown-ups and children love a Happy Meal, this one seems more geared towards adult F1 fans, since none of the food or beverage items are the typical kids' sizes. One might even call it an "Adult Happy Meal." The new McDonald's x F1 promotional meal has yet to launch at any of the fast-food chain's locations, but if it aligns with the release of the upcoming F1 movie, it could be made available very soon. Unfortunately for Americans, the McDonald's x F1 meal will only launch at participating McDonald's locations in Mexico. The company has neither confirmed nor denied whether a potential launch could happen in the U.S. or any other country. Still, foreign McDonald's menu items have been made available in the U.S. before. All F1 fans can do now is hope there's enough demand for the meal that the fast-food giant feels compelled to bring it to the States. Lewis Hamilton Gave Charles Leclerc a Headache With His Wild Ferrari Drive

Lewis Hamilton Gave Charles Leclerc a Headache With His Wild Ferrari Drive originally appeared on Athlon Sports. Lewis Hamilton gave Charles Leclerc an unforgettable ride—one the Ferrari driver might not want to relive anytime soon. Advertisement In a hilarious video posted by Ferrari on its YouTube Channel, the two drivers took turns behind the wheel of a Ferrari F80. It started with Leclerc in the driver's seat and Hamilton in the passenger seat, both smiling. 'You're driving me?' Hamilton asked with a grin. 'Alright. Let's do it.' As Leclerc took him for a spin, Hamilton was clearly impressed: 'This is nice. It's fast. Holy [expletive]. I've got to order one of these.' But the tables turned quickly. Charles Leclerc walks to the Drivers' Parade with Lewis Hamilton swapped into the driver's seat, Leclerc's confidence disappeared. 'I hate it. I hate it,' the Monegasque admitted almost instantly. As Hamilton put his foot down, Leclerc couldn't hide his discomfort. 'I've got a headache,' he confessed after the lap. 'I was trying to be nice with you. He went flat out.' Advertisement Hamilton, however, was loving every second. 'This is the fastest road car Ferrari has done,' he declared. 'I've never driven anything like that on the road. This is another level.' By the end, Leclerc—slightly shaken—relented with a smirk: 'It was very nice… but I'm sick already.' As the two F1 stars cooled off post-ride, Hamilton asked the only logical question: 'What colour are you getting?' Leclerc's reply? 'Full black.' The playful exchange between teammates turned heads not just for the speed, but for the chemistry—and comedy_that Hamilton and Leclerc brought to the experience. Whether it's on the track or off, Hamilton knows how to make an entrance—and clearly, leave a lasting impression. Advertisement And maybe a headache, too.
