Katseye to perform new digital single in Korea
Girl group Katseye will return to Korea with the new single 'Gnarly,' according to Hybe Labels and Geffen Records on Sunday.
The multinational group of six will drop the song and music video Wednesday and take to the stage on television music chart shows in Korea from May 1. It will be returning about seven months after it promoted two main tracks from the debut EP, 'Soft Is Strong' — 'Debut' and 'Touch.' The latter generated 100 million streams on Spotify.
As hinted through the teaser video for 'Gnarly,' the six members will go for a stronger image, taking a sharp turn from the upbeat and lovely concepts of its previous endeavors.
In July, it will perform at Lollapalooza Chicago, which will be headlined by the likes of Twice as well as Olivia Rodrigo, Sabrina Carpenter and Tyler, the Creator.

Katseye to return with Latin-inspired sound
Multinational girl group to drop second prerelease single ahead of EP Katseye, a multinational girl group of Hybe and Geffen Records, is set to reveal a bold new side with a Latin-infused concept. The group recently unveiled a teaser for its upcoming single 'Gabriela' through official social media accounts. The track blends pop sounds with a warm acoustic guitar melody, influenced by Latin sensibilities, paired with dramatic storytelling centered on the emotional highs and lows of love. The prerelease track and music video will be released June 20. In the teaser video, the members appear with voluminous retro-inspired wavy hairstyles, sensual black outfits and dazzling lighting, evoking the mood of telenovelas, or classic Latin TV dramas. It marks a striking visual and stylistic shift from the funky, rebellious energy of the group's recent release, 'Gnarly,' released April 30. Katseye will release its second EP 'Beautiful Chaos' on June 27, featuring both 'Gnarly' and 'Gabriela.' The album will include five tracks in total and will serve as a definitive statement of the group's identity and artistic direction, according to Hybe and Geffen Records.

Megan of Katseye comes out as bisexual
Megan becomes second member of Katseye to come out as LGBTQ+ after Lara Megan, a member of the global girl group Katseye, has publicly come out as bisexual. During a live broadcast on fan platform Weverse with fellow member Lara on Friday, Megan shared her identity with fans, stating, 'I'm coming out. I'm bisexual.' The two celebrated the moment together, jumping in place with joy. This marks the second coming out within the group. Back in March, Lara revealed her sexual orientation through a Weverse live broadcast. She shared that she realized she was attracted to women as early as the age of eight, and confessed that she was deeply afraid when auditioning. 'I didn't know if people would accept me. I was scared it might ruin my chances,' she wrote at the time. With both Lara and Megan now openly identifying as members of the LGBTQ+ community, Katseye stands out as a rare example of queer representation in the K-pop scene. The group will return with its second EP "Beautiful Chaos" on May 27.
