COAHOMA, Texas (KMID/KPEJ) – On Monday, it was announced that Coahoma superstar softball pitcher Hannah Wells won the Gatorade State Softball Player of the Year award, and today, she won the Gatorade National Softball Player of the Year award.
Wells recently wrapped up her time playing for the Bulldogettes by helping them to win their third straight state championship in their fourth straight appearance. In her four years with Coahoma, the team finished 136-9-1 for a total of 146 games.

FanDuel posts odds for MSU football to go undefeated this upcoming season

FanDuel posts odds for MSU football to go undefeated this upcoming season See how much FanDuel is offering to pay out should the Spartans do the unthinkable and win every game on their 2025 schedule Do you think there's even a remote chance of Michigan State football running the table and going undefeated this year? If so, then there's a bet you can take that'll pay you a pretty penny if it hits. FanDuel Sportsbook has released betting odds for notable teams in the Big Ten that could in theory go undefeated during the 2025 regular season. Believe it or not, there were odds posted for the Spartans and it would pay out a huge profit should it somehow hit. Michigan State football going undefeated is listed at +23000 on FanDuel. This means if you were to bet $100 and it hit, you'd walk away with $23,000. That's quite the payday -- which of course would mean quite the unthinkable would have to happen. Michigan State comes into this season with a win total over/under of 5.5 so the oddsmakers clearly think the Spartans are more of a fringe bowl team than a National Championship contender. To no surprise, I would agree with those oddsmakers and wouldn't recommend putting actual faith in taking this bet, but hey, anything is possible I suppose. Michigan State will kickoff the 2025 season on Friday, August 29 against Western Michigan. The season-opener against the Broncos is scheduled for 7 p.m. ET and will be televised on FS1. New Alabama QB Commit Shines at Elite 11

New Alabama QB Commit Shines at Elite 11 originally appeared on Athlon Sports. Look away, Iowa State Cyclones fans; new Alabama Crimson Tide quarterback commit Jett Thomalla might be the next great college football quarterback. Advertisement On Thursday, Thomalla made waves at the Elite 11 competition, being on target with 18 of his 20 throws, per Charles Power of On3. South Carolina is embracing NIL changes.© Will McLelland-Imagn Images The Elite 11 Finals, a competition among the country's top high school football players, entered its second day of competition, with Thomalla earning high praise. The Alabama commit dominated his Pro Day, throwing precise passes on nearly all of his scripted plays. Power praised Thomalla for his footwork and ability to push the ball downfield. 247Sports ranks Thomalla as the eighth-best quarterback following the conclusion of the second day of the recruiting period. Advertisement Thomalla's standout performance comes on the same week he decommitted from Iowa State and pledged his allegiance to Alabama. On Tuesday, just weeks after taking his official visit to Iowa State, Thomalla decommitted from the Big 12 power. On the same day, he committed to the University of Alabama. Alabama was the last of 12 teams to offer Thomalla but unquestionably had enough of an impact to sway his decision. The four-star quarterback in the 2026 class earned MaxPreps Nebraska Player of the Year honors last year, throwing for 3,663 yards, 47 touchdowns, and three picks. Barring another decommitment, he will join a Crimson Tide roster flush with blue-chip quarterback talent. This season, head coach Kalen DeBoer will welcome five-star passer Keelon Russell, while former five-star prospect Ty Simpson will likely start the season under center. Nebraska quarterback commit Trae Taylor to participate in Rivals Five-Star elite event

Nebraska quarterback commit Trae Taylor to participate in Rivals Five-Star elite event A Nebraska quarterback commit will compete in one of the top recruiting camps in the country later this month. Trae Taylor is confirmed to participate in the 2025 Rivals Five-Star elite event in Indianapolis on June 23 and 24. Taylor is the fifth overall quarterback in the 2027 class and the third overall player in his class from the state of Illinois, according to the 247Sports composite rankings. Last season, he threw for 3,061 yards, 20 touchdowns, and seven interceptions, per statistics from MaxPreps. He also carried the football 41 times for 342 yards and four touchdowns while leading Carmel Catholic High School to a 4-7 record. The 2025 Rivals Five-Star elite event will feature 104 high school football players gathering in Indianapolis at the Colts' practice facility. The two-day event will see a media day held on June 23, with the on-field competition taking place on June 24. Since committing to Nebraska back in May, Taylor has been active on social media, peer recruiting other top talent in the 2027 class. Now that all the talent is gathering in one place, it should provide Taylor with an excellent opportunity to make new connections and create opportunities for Nebraska's coaching staff to take advantage of in the future.
