‘Cheers' star George Wendt's cause of death confirmed
A cause of death has been confirmed for 'Cheers' star George Wendt, who died on May 20 at the age of 76.
The beloved actor died from cardiac arrest, according to a death certificate released by the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health and obtained by TMZ.
The certificate cites congestive heart failure, coronary artery disease and hypertension as underlying causes of Wendt's death, with significant contributing conditions of kidney failure and high cholesterol.
Wendt reportedly died peacefully in his sleep at his home, and cremated eight days later.
'George was a doting family man, a well-loved friend and confidant to all of those lucky enough to have known him,' his family said in a statement. 'He will be missed forever.'
Best known for his role as Norm Peterson on 'Cheers,' Wendt appeared in all 275 episodes of the NBC sitcom, which ran from 1982 to 1993. The six-time Emmy Award nominee later went on to headline 'The George Wendt Show,' appear in countless movies and craft a stage career that took him to Broadway in 'Art,' 'Hairspray' and 'Elf.'

Two students secure internships with Wells contemporary art exhibition
Two Somerset students have secured internships with a major contemporary art exhibition. Year 12 students from The Blue School, Elizabeth Adams and Gabriella Unciano, have joined the volunteer-led team behind Wells Art Contemporary (WAC). The annual exhibition will return to Wells Cathedral this October. Paddy O'Hagan, chair of WAC, said: "We are thrilled to welcome these bright young minds to our team. "We really value their assistance and enthusiasm, and we hope their involvement will strengthen a love for art within our community." The internship will give students first-hand experience of working with artists, curators, and organisers as they help deliver an international art exhibition in a Grade I-listed building. Mr O'Hagan said: "The addition of the interns from The Blue School underscores our commitment to nurturing the next generation of art professionals and providing them with meaningful opportunities to develop their skills." The exhibition will run from Wednesday, October 8 to Saturday, November 1. Gabriella, who recently moved to Wells from Bristol, said: "I think of Wells Art Contemporary as a really lovely way to showcase and promote international talent and art." Justin Verlander and Kate Upton have welcomed their second child together. A rep for Upton told TMZ that the couple had a son, Bellamy Brooks Verlander, on Thursday. Verlander, 41, was placed on paternity leave by the Giants ahead of Friday's game against the Red Sox.
