Fulham fans may be excited at the prospect of links with a new striker but who is Ricardo Pepi?The PSV front man hails from El Paso, Texas and although he was born in the USA he grew up on a diet of Mexican football and even supported the Mexico national team – the country of his mother's birth.He played for both nations at youth level but he eventually chose to represent the United States in August 2021. "It was a difficult decision," he admitted. "I thought about it for three or four years and I had to talk a lot with my family and the people I trust the most. It was a decision made with my heart."He is nicknamed 'El Toro', or 'The Bull', and he bagged a hat-trick on his professional debut for North Texas in 2019 while on loan from MLS outfit FC Dallas.His favourite player is Cristiano Ronaldo but he has previously listed Arsenal forward Gabriel Jesus as a big inspiration and Pepi's style isn't too dissimilar to that of the Brazilian.If Pepi was to sign for the Cottagers he would become the 13th American to play for the club. It's an illustrious list with fan favourites such as Clint Dempsey, Brian McBride and current marauding left-back Antonee Robinson. Oh, and it also includes former Reading goalkeeper Marcus Hahnemann.Perhaps most importantly of all he looks to be blossoming at the age of 22. Last season he netted 11 times in 18 league outings for PSV on their way to the Dutch title.

June 21 - Adolis Garcia had three hits, including a home run and two RBI and made two great diving catches in right field to help the Texas Rangers beat the host Pittsburgh Pirates 6-2 on Friday night. Garcia went 3-for-4 and his efforts backed up a strong outing by starter Jacob deGrom (7-2), who pitched six innings, allowing two runs on five hits and one walk while striking out seven on 84 pitches. The Rangers snapped a three-game losing streak and handed the Pirates their fifth loss in their past six games. Marcus Semien and Jonah Heim each had two hits for Texas while Corey Seager hit his seventh home run of the season and first since returning from the injured list on May 28th. Joey Bart led Pittsburgh with three hits and an RBI and Nick Gonzales also had two hits. The Pirates mustered nine hits overall, but all were singles. The Rangers struck immediately in the first inning against Pirates rookie starter Mike Burrows (1-2) when Josh Smith and Sam Haggerty opened the game with back-to-back singles. On Haggerty's liner to center field, the ball bounced off Oneil Cruz resulting in a costly error that allowed Smith to score. Haggerty then scored on a wild pitch. Burrows gave up four runs on seven hits and one walk while striking out four over 4 2/3 innings. Garcia's ninth homer of the season in the fourth inning pushed the Rangers' lead to 3-0. Pittsburgh answered with four singles and a walk -- all with two outs -- off deGrom. Adam Frazier's single scored Spencer Horwitz to cut the deficit to 3-2. deGrom struck out Alexander Canario to end the inning. Seager's solo home run in the fifth pushed the Rangers' lead to 4-2 and added another in the seventh when Semien tripled and Garcia followed with a double. Pirates reliever Ryan Borucki appeared to suffer an injury during his appearance in the top of the ninth inning. Borucki exited after facing four batters following a slight stumble as he finished his delivery on a pitch to Evan Carter. Borucki remained in the game, but then was removed after walking Carter to load the bases. Josh Jung drove in Texas' sixth run on a ground out to first off Caleb Ferguson. --Field Level Media

Former Premier League football star 'is declared bankrupt' - but says at £2million mansion he had 'no idea' about legal ruling
A former Premier League footballer who has been declared bankrupt is insisting he had 'no idea' all his valuable assets could now be seized. Lee Clark, 52, an ex-midfielder for Newcastle United, Sunderland and Fulham, said yesterday from his £2m mansion that he was oblivious to the risks. This is despite his bank accounts and savings now being potentially earmarked to pay unsecured creditors, if the debt is not addressed. The petitioner was a finance firm called One Stop Business based in York. Mr Clark told the Mirror from his house in Jesmond, Newcastle: 'I have no idea. I have no comment to make I know nothing.' The former player made 200 appearances at Newcastle United before moving to Sunderland in 1997 after signing a £2.5million deal. But his decision to war a T-shirt bearing the slogan 'Sad Mackem B*****' at the 1999 FA Cup final angered a number of fans. He then moved to Fulham before a brief return to Newcastle. Following the end of his playing career in 2006, Mr Clark managed Huddersfield, Birmingham City and Blackpool, spending time in Sudan and Oman. His son, Bobby, went on to play for Liverpool before joining RB Salzburg. News of Mr Clark's financial situation comes after ex-football ace Trevor Sinclair also declared bankruptcy last week. Last year, the Mail revealed Mr Clark regretted wearing the 'Sad Mackem B****d' t-shirt that ended his Sunderland career. Speaking to Mail Sport, he said: 'Of course, I've got regrets. It was like biting the hand that feeds you. 'There were no camera phones then, just the old disposable ones and a few cameras clicked and it came out a few weeks later. It made my position at Sunderland untenable.'

Tom Brady rips an Eli Manning jersey apart in ultimate act of disrespect towards his former nemesis
Tom Brady brutally trolled his former rival Eli Manning on Friday by ripping his New York Giants jersey in half. The seven-time Super Bowl champion made an appearance at Fanatics Fest in New York City, much to the delight of the thousands of fans in attendance. Brady spoke to some of the crowd at Manhattan's Javits Center before then taking part in a WWE-style performance later on. The Fox commentator came out to the theme song of pro wrestler Cody Rhodes wearing sunglasses and carrying a WWE-style championship belt. But, as he made his way down to the walkway, Brady was presented with a Giants jersey that had 'Manning 10' on the back. The former New England Patriots quarterback then ripped the jersey in half in a playful dig at Manning. Brady's actions prompted Manning, who was watching on, to storm the stage and climb on his rival's back. Their rivalry dates back to their stellar NFL careers, when Manning and the Giants were able to briefly halt the Patriots' dominant run to beat them in two Super Bowls. The Giants stunned Bill Belichick's team to win 17-14 in Arizona in 2008, despite being heavy underdogs after Brady led his men to a perfect 16-0 regular season. Then, four years after, the Patriots were stunned by the Giants again when they were beaten 21-17 in Indianapolis. Manning was named Super Bowl MVP that year. Brady and Manning quickly regained their composure and were later pictured competing against each other in a baseball pitching contest.
