Star rookie Paige Bueckers back in action for Wings

June 12 - Wings rookie standout Paige Bueckers will return from a four-game absence when Dallas visits the Phoenix Mercury on Wednesday night.
Bueckers missed three games due to a concussion and another because of an illness.
Bueckers was the No. 1 overall pick in the 2025 WNBA Draft after being a college star at UConn, where she was a three-time first-team All-American and also won one national championship (2025) and one national player of the year honor (2021). She has averaged 14.7 points, 6.7 assists and 4.5 rebounds in six games for Dallas.
Bueckers last played on May 29 when the Wings lost 97-92 to the Chicago Sky. She had 15 points, eight assists, five rebounds, three steals and three blocked shots.
Dallas has a 1-9 record, which ranks last in the 13-team league.

The second half was a nightmare for her, as Clark shot 5-for-11 from the field and 0-for-5 from 3-point range while turning the ball over six times and putting up a -12 defensive rating. Portnoy continued: 'When she's off it's really hard for them to win. Turnovers. Bad shooting. The works. Lone bright spot. Aliyah [Boston] was great. Gotta bounce back.' Boston led the Fever with 26 points and ten rebounds. Aces star A'ja Wilson also struggled on the day, despite leading Las Vegas with 24 points. She shot 8-of-21 from the field. But she also had the benefit of some strong performances from Jackie Young (19 points, seven rebounds, seven assists) and Chelsea Gray (18 points on 66 percent shooting). Real coach Alonso backs Ruediger after he suffered alleged racist abuse

CHARLOTTE, North Carolina, June 22 (Reuters) - Real Madrid coach Xabi Alonso said he believed Antonio Ruediger when the player told him he was a victim of racist abuse during their 3-1 win against Mexican side Pachuca at the Club World Cup on Sunday. Referee Ramon Abatti crossed his forearms in front of his chest, which signals the activation of the anti-racism protocol, five minutes into stoppage time after a brief scuffle erupted following an apparent foul on Germany international Ruediger. Cementing her greatness, Australian golf superstar Minjee Lee claimed a historic third career major with a steely victory at the big-money Women's PGA Championship in Texas. Lee had her four-shot overnight lead slashed in half early in the final round before hanging on, then surging gamely for a three-shot triumph in more extremely trying conditions at PGA Frisco's windswept Fields Ranch East course.
