Translr App Announces New Strategies to Help Reduce Gender Disclosure Anxiety for Transgender Users
New York, New York, June 19, 2025 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- As debates around gender history disclosure continue to spark controversy in public discourse and on mainstream dating platforms, Translr announces new strategies aimed at reducing gender disclosure anxiety for transgender users. The app, designed specifically for the transgender community and allies, reports that targeted features and community-driven tools have contributed to higher levels of user comfort and transparency—while addressing the risks of harassment and discrimination often faced elsewhere.

Challenges on Mainstream PlatformsTransgender users—particularly trans women—report facing harassment, discrimination, and fetishization on some mainstream social platforms, even those promoting inclusivity. Instances include abrupt rejection or account reporting following gender disclosure. Emily, a trans model, described such experiences as deeply painful, noting that exclusion often occurs "simply for being herself."Translr's Community-Driven ApproachIn contrast, the specialized app Translr reports that over 75% of its trans users actively share their gender identity—significantly higher engagement than observed on mainstream platforms. The app attributes this to its targeted design and community support.Users like Jim, a lawyer who joined out of curiosity, discovered the platform through personal stories shared by trans women. He later entered a relationship with a trans partner and became an advocate for trans rights. Jim stated, "My first trans dating experience was on Translr... an experience unlike anything I'd ever had." Such accounts reflect the app's growing base of users seeking meaningful connections with transgender individuals.Strategies to Reduce Disclosure AnxietyTranslr employs two core methods to address disclosure concerns:
Trans-Centric Community Features
Precise matching filters for gender identity and transition status.
Peer support resources, including transition guidance and shared narratives.
Reduced rejection risk, as many cisgender users actively seek relationships with trans partners.
Eliminating the "Disclosure Dilemma"Unlike platforms where trans users face pressure over when to disclose—risking either prejudice or accusations of deception—Translr's environment normalizes transparency. Approximately 40% of its users openly seek long-term relationships with trans women, a notably higher rate than other apps.
ConclusionBy prioritizing safety and acceptance, Translr aims to create a space where gender disclosure occurs without fear of discrimination. The platform reports growth in genuine connections between transgender users and allies.About TranslrTranslr is a specialized dating app designed for the transgender community and its supporters. It facilitates connections among transgender individuals, cisgender allies, crossdressers, and others in a moderated environment. The app is available on iOS and Android.

‘Borderlands 4' Adds A Hugely Requested Feature Months Before Launch
Borderlands 4 Gearbox Borderlands 4 has officially become my most-anticipated game of the year, between how good its previews have looked and the glowing hands-on reviews that have just hit the internet this past week. Now, I am deeply impressed by what Gearbox has just announced. Due to a load of fan feedback and debates about the issue, they have added a feature to the game that will launch with it in September, a demonstration of both listening to the playerbase and nimble development. The debate was whether or not the Borderlands 4 'compass' system of locating objectives and enemies was better than a 'minimap' system that did the same thing but in a different format. Gearbox adamantly defended the compass decision, but the conversation was so pervasive that it has just been announced that Borderlands 4 will indeed launch with a combat minimap option. Here's Gearbox CEO Randy Pitchford showing off the system during a 32-tweet thread covering the issue: Randy credits the community for helping to reinforce how important this issue is and that it needed to be addressed: 'This happened because of the best elements of our community. I'm talking about the real fans who sincerely want the best for the game and gave constructive notes and made reasonable arguments. You know who you are and you rock! You made this happen!' I'm not exactly sure which side of this I come down on. I think perhaps the compass, as it seems less intrusive in the UI, but I'll try both out to be sure. Regardless, it's great that there's an option, and you really do not see this sort of thing happen this quickly and way ahead of launch, rather than a 'yeah, we'll look into that for the future' sort of thing. It seems like it's all green lights for Borderlands 4 so far. The only negative things I've heard about it are not about the game itself, but people saying they didn't like Borderlands 3 , so they're not excited about 4. But a lot of the praise about Borderlands 4 is that it's fixing many of the issues of 3, from combat movement to looting to even the tone of its writing. That, combined with what appears to be a very reactive dev team on top of their game, I think this is going to be a big fall launch, particularly with a number of other games moving out of its way. Storage Prices Are Going Nuts, Grab a New Samsung MicroSD Card With Adapter for Early Prime Day
Save 36% and get 512GB of super-fast storage for your smartphone, drone, digital camera, gaming console or handheld, and more. Storage prices, to put it politely, have been all over the place lately. You could get motion sickness watching them rise and fall and rise again, and there's of course the ever-present threat of tariffs that would suddenly balloon the prices of storage and many other tech goods. So when the roller-coaster of storage pricing rolls downward, it's smart to grab some while you can. Now's a good time, if Amazon's 36% off deal on the Samsung EVO Select MicroSD memory card and adapter is any indication. The new $35 sale price on the EVO Select 512 MicroSD card and adapter is an awesome opportunity to add fast, reliable storage to so many of your tech devices. It's compatible with Samsung's Galaxy smartphones and tablets, of course, but also most other Android smartphones and tablets with a MicroSD slot. It's also compatible with iOS devices and iPads, and it's the default storage for drones and digital cameras. That's just for starters. See at Amazon So Tiny Yet So Big The Samsung EVO Select MicroSD card is smaller than a postage stamp, yet the 512GB storage capacity might be even larger than you'd imagine. How big is it? You can store 30 hours of 4K videos on it, or 80.5 hours of full HD videos — if you're a GoPro or drone enthusiast, that will be of particular interest. Still photographers or anyone looking to free up storage on their smartphone or tablet will appreciate the fact they can store over 207,000 4K photos or over 270,000 HD photos on that teeny card. The included adapter lets you fit the EVO Select MicroSD card into SD card slots, which comes in enormously handy if you're using an older laptop or desktop computer. With that much capacity, it's also a great accessory to move files from an older computer to a newer one or to different storage. Virtually Unkillable If the idea of moving so much of your precious photo and video artistry onto such a small and paper-thin chip makes you nervous, remind yourself that Samsung has been the world's No 1 flash memory brand since 2003, and the EVO Select MicroSD card is remarkably tough. It can withstand up to 72 hours submerged in seawater, extreme temperatures as low as -40 degrees or as high as 185 degrees Fahrenheit, and is a true beast when it comes to tolerating x-rays or magnets. The average lifespan of up to 10,000 swipes is as close to a lifetime of use as you can get. Predicting where the price of portable storage devices these days is a fool's errand, but you can be sure that the current Amazon sale that's offering the 512GB version of Samsung's EVO Select MicroSD card and adapter for just $35 is well worth hitting the buy button on.
