Geordie superstar Sam Fender was joined on stage by his hero 'Big Dan Burn' for the last hometown gig of his world tour. Fender told the crowd that his three-night run at St James' Park, seen by 150,000 fans, had been the 'best weekend of his life'.
For his final night, he had some special guests, including the Newcastle United and England star Dan Burn. The giant defender arrived with the Carabao Cup in his hands to a hero's welcome from the 50,000-strong crowd. He was a hero on Tyneside after scoring the Toon's opening goal in the 2-1 victory over Liverpool in March.

Fender gave Burn, 33, a hug before the pair raised the trophy to cheers from the fans. Burn left the stage but then came back to say: "Thank you mum and dad" before he departed once more.

There were then a number of special guests, including Fender's elder brother Liam on keyboards. The singer's former guitar teacher Phil Martin also made a guest appearance, and a random 17-year-old fan plucked from the audience.
There was a montage of childhood photos of the band on the giant stage screen to mark Father's Day, including a snap of Fender with his dad Alan, an electrician turned music teacher who was a huge influence on his career.
The North Shields born singer and Martin stood side by side for a cover of Thin Lizzy's "The Boys Are Back in Town".
Easington Colliery Brass Band then appeared for 'Remember My Name' from the People Watching album, dedicated to the star's grandparents.

At the end of the show, with a finale of fireworks and flames shooting through the night sky, Fender asked the crowd to donate to the charity Doctors Without Borders (Medecins Sans Frontieres).
The singer is supporting their work in Gaza, describing their medics as 'real life heroes'.
He told the crowd that he could not believe it was his fifth show at St James, the home of Newcastle United. "I never thought that I would say that," he added. "I want to just to take that in.

"Thank you for the best weekend of my life." His two shows in June, 2023, attracted around 100,000 fans and were credited with boosting the local economy by around £15m.
Dan Burn made his Wembley cup final appearance and then had another dream come true when he was called up for England after getting some tips from the son of Jack Charlton.

That stance from the player would need to change, says Geremi, for either of last season's top two to land the prolific 25-year-old. 'First of all, they [Newcastle] need to keep their best players at all costs,' said Geremi, speaking to BoyleSports, who offer the latest Club World Cup odds. 'I'm not sure Newcastle would sell Isak for any fee, but it would become an issue if the player took the decision into his own hands.' Having won the Carabao Cup earlier this year and qualified for the Champions League, the former Chelsea midfielder and Cameroon international insists the Magpies are now on the 'same level' as Liverpool and Arsenal. ‌ Geremi added: 'He had a great season and is at one of the biggest teams in the world when it comes to financial backing. 'The environment is all there and I don't think he would gain anything by moving to Liverpool or Arsenal. I think Newcastle are at the same level. 'When they got new owners, I said it would take them three or four years and a trophy to put them in that position and now they are there. They are ready to compete because they have been built under Eddie Howe, they have the right finances and they are an attractive proposition for new players. ‌ 'New signings will have no doubt about joining the club this summer and I wouldn't be surprised if they have an incredible season.' For Arsenal, a deal for either Benjamin Seskso or Viktor Gyokeres looks much more likely at this stage. A new number nine is seen as critical as Arsenal look to go from 'nearly men' to winners following three successive runner-up finishes in the Premier League. Meanwhile, Liverpool have already been busy this summer, signing Bayer Leverkusen pair Florian Wirtz and Jeremie Frimpong. The former has now completed his transfer, which could rise to £116m – meaning the Reds have already broken the British record this summer.

Oscar Branning to return to EastEnders for first time in eight years

Branning will return to the BBC soap aged 17 and will be played by Pierre Moullier, having previously been portrayed by Gabriel Miller-Williams, Neo Hall and Charlee Hall. Moullier said: 'It's pretty surreal to join EastEnders – it keeps hitting me that I'm actually on Albert Square. 'When I found out I was joining the Brannings, it was so exciting as they are such an iconic family, and I love that there are so many skeletons in the closet. EastEnders executive producer Ben Wadey said: 'I'm very excited to bring Oscar Branning back to Walford and introduce viewers to him now that he's all grown up. 'Oscar is very much a Branning which means there's going to be plenty of drama in store this summer. 'We're delighted to welcome Pierre as he takes on the role and can't wait for viewers to see him bring Oscar to life.' Oscar last appeared in the show when he visited Max on Father's Day in 2017, before returning to Exeter, where he lived with his mother. The character is expected to return to Albert Square next month, with Moullier already filming scenes for the show.
